great video i was studying to be a primary care doctor at one point but i couldnt get pass a section in my class and fell behindthen ran out of money to pay for school so i gave up but from what i remember from asking questions about malpractice i would say medical malpractice/negligece happens when doctors/nurse become incompetent and refuse to give proper care their patients, doctors are train to not focus on the feelings of the patents just treating them which can lead the patent feeling like doctors are being narcisictic people [which in some cases their right] and some doctors just might care about the money more rather then their patients making them feel like nothing is wrong with them or because their not in your family so you don't care what happens to them because their just a stranger, which can lead to below standard of care which can also be cause by not lessoning to your patient by dismissing them, gaslighting them, not telling them enough information, usually high risk of malpractice is when you mess up on a surgery or wrong medication or killing/crippling a new born baby at birth due to lack of oxygen or giving wrong medication Leding to death or crippling of a patient mentally or physically but I would say not to worry if you have a good heart and treat people how you want to be treated or how you would treat your family and never give up on them when they need help.

Amazed about where EM doctors would listed, actually being in front line, I had thought they were among top specialties that get sued.

Quite honestly, I expected them to be higher on the list as well. But I think the reason why they are further down the list is because as an ER doc, many times you'll be stabilizing the patient and then consulting the appropriate specialist for further management. For example, if you've identified a subarachnoid bleed, then your job most of the time stops as soon as you've identified it on a head CT, stabilized the patient medically and then called over neurosurgery to arrange for coiling, clipping, or however they want to manage. For this reason, you might get a lot of complaints as an ER doc, but even in the case of a negative patient outcome - you won't be held responsible from a medico-legal perspective so long as you've done all that you could in the acute setting.

There are definitely a lot of people who just hate doctors - unfortunately I do meet them from time to time. But for the most part, I think the underlying condition that makes complaints inevitable regardless of specialty is outward projection by people who have become very frustrated with the system as well as their own declining health. All we can do is try our best and thankfully, I think the majority of people understand that
