It’s interesting because as a person with sexual trauma it can get pretty difficult to be intimate with my partner, even to the point where we have to wait a month or two if I’m having a hard time. But I’ve also never had a relationship where I’ve felt this accepted and loved, and we’re so happy together! The lack of sexual intimacy can be difficult, but we make time for no sexual touching that helps satisfy our needs for physical love. It’s not the most ideal situation, but just because you’re not having sex every single day or even once a week doesn’t necessarily mean you’re in an unhealthy relationship! Health is about respecting boundaries, wishes / desires, and coming to a middle ground where everyone feels content with the couple . Good for all of these couples anyways for feeling good in their sexual lives, and even being able to acknowledge if they would like less/ more.

Sure it's better than the beginning but I can't do new stuff, I'm too "shy" for this and he always does the work ._. Also I never come to the end (which isn't important for me) but I really would like to know how this is. But also there, I'm pretty scared of it

Absolutely! The idea that you have to be having sex frequently to have a healthy relationship is just wrong. (And as you point out, there's lots of physical intimacy that's not sexual.) And even without trauma, there are people that just have lower sex drives and if both people in the couple feel good about their sex life that's all that matters.

I feel guilty that I cannot give more as he keeps saying that sex is about love, kind of implying that I don't love him... Glad to know there are others who might feel the same way as me

As an asexual person, all but the couple on the left sound so frequent!! My partner and I are currently long distance, but when we weren’t, our frequency was probably once a month, since it’s just not something I really need in a relationship. I feel the same amount of connection doing that as i do watching a movie together or having dinner together. But just because we aren’t having sex doesn’t mean we aren’t intimate! Every couple is different; I really liked this video and I’d love to see another with even more of a range (although idk if you could get more frequent than that last couple, that’s truly impressive lol)

what’s funny is that I’m not asexual and have always considered myself to be very sexual but I was surprised how people doing once or twice a week were acting like that was so infrequent and they were lacking. I can’t do more than twice a week! And I’m totally good with twice a month. I can’t even imagine twice a day on the regular. no really though. once a week is completely normal and is not indicative of lack of chemistry or passion. as someone with a lower sex drive due to mental health issues and medication i thought i was broken for a while because i couldn’t understand why everyone around me was talking about having sex every day when it hardly crossed my mind. was i not attracted to my partner? was i asexual? was the spark gone? (no to all of the above!) if your sex drive is high that’s completely okay but i feel like media has perpetuated this idea of hypersexuality being the standard and i think a lot of us who don’t relate to that end up feeling like there’s something wrong with us for not being horny 24/7.

Me and my partner are very different in that regard and it was great in the honey moon phase but it got very tricky after a while because the amount of times went down drastically and neither of us really knew why. We’re both anxious beans and I’m his first partner period, let alone sexual partner, let alone kiss. Sometimes the idea of sex can feel heavy, and while we fucked like rabbits in the beginning, their was a point where we began to appreciate other kinds of love and intimacy in a way that put sex on the back burner for when we are ready, floored, and horny as hell. Point being, it’s so wonderful to find that groove and to understand one another, your comforts, your libidos, and other ways of finding intimacy if sex doesn’t float your boat at the moment or feel comfortable.

@@Rain_vii yeah, 100%. Sex needs to be better represented overall, I feel. There's nothing wrong with not having much sex in a pertnership as long as there's proper communication and everyone's happy! We were each other's first kiss, so it was all completely new to both of us too!
