@@joaquinfernandez3347 Yes that’s true but from what I’ve seen Peru and Bolivia are the most indigenous ones. Paraguay is more mixed but I read that 95% or 98% of the population is mestizo, making it an extremely homogenous conutry.

Bolivia and Ecuador as well. In Central America Guatemala. These are the 4 countries which the majority of the population genetics came from Native Americans. Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras are about 50%. Countries such as Nicaragua, Panamá, Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay and Chile have also important native American coumpond, ranging from 30% to 50%. Costa Rica, Brasil, Argentina and Uruguay have less than 30%.

It is precisely that and you hit the nail on the head in that it is something similar to that of Japan and South Korea, (I am not referring to meat xD) since both got along badly for many years due to the issue of war. The same thing happens with Peru and Chile, in older generations of Peruvians they were taught to hate Chile because of the saltpeter war in the late 1870s and early 1880s, although now due to globalization, to the internet and due to the Haya resolution, the intensity has decreased.

My dad worked in Peru, so I lived in Lima from age 5 to 10 and in Piura from age 11 to 15. If you had asked the people in Piura (northern part of the country) the same question, they would have said "Ecuador" because Peru fought and won a war with that nation. Further south the answer will be Chile because Peru lost a war (and territory). We came back to the US in 1967 so the Peru I knew and loved is not the same as today. I still use Ahi Amarillo in a lot of my cooking - it has its own flavor that no other pepper exactly duplicates. I am retired now and hope to travel some, and a return trip to Peru is on my bucket list.

Although it has the driest desert in the world, which is the Atacama desert, the Arid zone of Chile is not even 15% of the Chilean territory, by the way, it is only the Chilean north from the Arica region to the north of Atacama. . why from Coquimbo to the south there is a lot of vegetation and everything is green, especially Patagonia, which is mostly made up of lakes, rivers, fjords, islands, glaciers, etc.

The one who said in Paraguay it's very cold has NO CLUE AT ALL about climate, you can have over 35 degrees in midwinter, while in Argentina and Uruguay it may get cold in winter but summers are way hotter than in Lima or Cusco

I agree. Paraguay is hot and humid, maybe fresher where it is closer to Bolivia, yet altitude means higher radiation/sun exposure.

2:33. I agree with this Woman. Every place has something good about it. You will meet good people and any where can be someone that is there to Rob you or worse. Have to trust people with you or trust yourself when traveling.

You will like to know this: In 1879 there was a war between Chile and Perú. Peru and Bolivia were allies in this war but Chile ended up as the winner taking some territory from Peru and the Bolivian sea coast. Unfortunately until today many people have a grudge against Chile because of this historical event. Chilean people are also more nosy. But it is only the typical rivalry between neighbouring countries.

For Chile there is no rivalry with Peru. The rivalry comes from Peru towards Chile because of the Pacific War and political issues and wars of the past and grudges and hatred and resentment that Peru has towards Chile. Adoro mucho a Perú. Me encanta su autentica cocina y su gente. Tengo muchas fotos de Machu Picchu. Arica, Lima, Cusco y probé el ceviche BRUTAL. El sabor es INOLVIDABLE. Cuando estuve en Colombia de viaje, hubo un montón de venezolanos en Cartagena que por desgracia "invadieron" la ciudad según los cuentos de los locales y se nota. No sé porque no os gusta tanto Chile, son buena gente igualmente. Hablan un español un poco diferente pero te vas al desierto de Atacama ya te capta el corazón con sus paisajes lunares especulares. Santiago tiene mucho ambiente y Valparaíso es muy bonito y colorado la verdad. Como siempre, los latinos os falta unidad igual que nosotros en los Balcanes jajajaj un abrazo. Sois todos tan iguales y os une el mismo idioma y costumbres.

@@alexnavarro6941 en realidad fue Bolivia quien le declaró la guerra a Chile, y Perú vino por añadidura ya que tenía un pacto secreto con Bolivia en caso de guerra, cuento corto. Bolivia abandona a Perú y lo deja luchando solo, Chile avanza hasta llegar a Lima y ocupar su capital hasta que se declara la paz en el tratado de Ancón en 1884.

I don't know why there are people from Chile in the comments saying that they are hated here because of the war, I've seen the full video and the people who say they don't like Chile is because of the food or the weather, one last guy He even said that he liked Chile, but he added that in earlier times, more than 100 years ago, there was resentment towards Chile, which is something quite obvious because in those times the war was a recent issue. Even if they didn't tell it in this video, there is a huge link between the history classes in Peru and what people think about Chile in this video. Peruvian people don't see Chilean people and Chile country with good eyes. "Their food is not good, the weather is cold and the people are not welcoming". C'mon! Santiago is not Chile, there are a lot of places to visit in Chile. The Chileans who visit Peru they go to Lima, Machu Pichu, Arequipa, the jungle, Tacna, etc. In the other hand, Peruvians only go to Santiago, maybe somebody to Arica and Iquique (the lands took during the war) and that's all. However, it's absolutely natural to "avoid" visiting the country that teachers tought you to hate, or don't judge correctly the culture and people from the country they tought you to hate.

if you go to Chilean food videos, you will see quite a few Peruvians hating on Chilean food, but not only that. there are Peruvians also hating on our music, dance, etc. The hatred is real and you can't deny it.

They say Chile, but I think they don't want to tell you why exactly, because it would be unpolite and politically incorrect to say the truth. I believe it's in part because of a past war, the Pacific War, when Chile declared war on Peru. An old grievance. But I'm not peruvian and I'm not chilean, so I can't say for sure.

Peru is my favorite country in the world, so beautifully! a country with so much diversity, heritage. Not to talk of wildlife, deserts, snow laden mountains, lakes, ancient temples, largest chaotic cities , serene valleys. Can’t think if any other country has all. NO. Have seen most of South America except Venezuela. It,s pity , so much to see there. Peru in on the top of my list though.

Its so beautiful and touching to see how people from Peru still resembles and have a lot of native American features, they are gorgeous people, with a spectacular culture,traditions, and such beautiful facial features. At the same time its so sad to see how latin amerian community use that to bother Peru. People need to move out and step out from that Eurocentric world view that colonisation left and learn that everybody is beautiful in their own way, that i dosnt matter your skin color, your nose shape, if your lips are big, small, if your eyes are monolid or you have a double eyelid, if you have blue or black eyes, everybody is beautiful. Diversity is beautiful.

thanks, i am peruvian but i do not share those phenotypes as i am of palestinian origins. It is very shameful that this racism exists.. i love this country because unlike other latin american countries, our history started way before colonialism and our indigenous quechua and aymara peoples can and should have pride in that. They have shaped our country and its beautiful culture and food, and us diaspora groups which includes chinese, japanese, italian, german, and arabs such as myself, we even feel more connected to this amazing land than we do to our roots. we have much work to do but i am thankful for what we already have

@@alexia5524 music genres have a big african influence. now, with that said, let me clarify that the majority of people in Colombia are mestizo descents, and yes most of them have african features, some of them have european features, others even native american that’s beautiful. Its diversity. and yes, those countries that you mention, mexico, bolivia and ecuador have a big mass of native american descendants nothing wrong with that, seems like you took my comment as something negative, you should know that that wasn’t my purpose, I said in a way to raise and PRAise native american proudness

False. Most of the interviewed people are true Peruvians. I´m Peruvian so I can notice it. Your problem is that you think Peruvians have one accent only. Totally false. 47 languages are still spoken in Perú besides Castilian (Spanish). The accents from northern, centre, southern, mountains and jungle parts of Perú are different. Even in its capital Lima accents differ greatly depending from which part and social group you belong to. Of course there is one Peruvian standard academic Castilian (Spanish), educated people from all social groups speak and its considered the most neutral and best Castilian (Spanish) accent (maybe beside the Mexican standard academic Castilian) from all over the world. But the average Peruvians have indeed dozens of different accents throughout the country. And of course, many Peruvians master the English language at least at a level in which they can communicate the essentials so as to be understood and understand a basic conversation.
