Keep Korchinski in the NHL. He is our defensive future with Vlasek and Levshunov.

He could still go down to Rockford. Even though he played a lot of games last year. This year he has players to compete with for a NHL spot. Especially when added 2 defenseman in free agency and Levshunov just signed his ETC so he can earn a spot to. I’m still impressed with Korchinskis play but I would love to see him earn a spot then given one.

Korch needs to play top minutes and in all situations (PP and PK) in Rockford. He is the one guy I feel the Hawks rushed last year. We don't need another Boqvist situation. Let the kid develop down there

You’re right. The Blackhawks have to be 100% sure that when they are called up they can make an impact right away. I’m sure Korchinski is going fight for his spot back because we signed 2 defenseman who can play right away and Levshunov has a chance to earn his spot. Lots of pressure on the young players that want to earn their spot back this year.

He wasn't really rushed. He was in a situation where it was either back to the whl or nhl. He couldn't play in the ahl. Going back to the whl wasn't going to do anything for his growth. Also with the passing of his father in January probably didn't help. He was the youngest dman in the nhl last season.

@tomklasky8595 He didn't dominate the WHL like an elite defensive prospect did. Brandt Clarke for example had just as good D+0 season as Korchinski. He did his 9 game tryout and the Kings sent him back to WHL... and he dominated. Then he got sent to the AHL

If Korchinski shows up to camp at 185 lb, (or whatever he played at last season), it will demonstrate (at least to me) that he’s not taking things seriously. He will have had 5 months to build up muscle and body mass. But it takes work and dedication. I’m sure the team has given him the program to get there. If he doesn’t show marked improvement, he not trying.

Brodie played the 2nd most minutes per game for the Leafs. Put him in a lesser role and watch how effective he can be

He played a full season with the Blackhawks. It’s expected for a young player to not play well and having to be a top pair defenseman right away. They make mistakes but they’re is potential in Korchinski. Every player develops differently.

Please elaborate? He was the youngest dman in the nhl. He had to deal with the passing of his father in January. He didn't have the option of the ahl. It takes 3 to 5 years to develop a dman in the nhl. He was only 19. What exactly were you expecting on a god awful team? You must be new to hockey

He was literally the youngest dman in the league. Not that impressed is probably the best you could have hoped for.

@@tomklasky8595 yeah tough year overall for Korchinski on and off the ice. I do think there potential in him to be a top defenseman in the future. Now he’s got a full season in the NHL last year. I expect him to improve playing without the puck.

I am one view and done. The guy in the middle should be retained, and paired with other cool guys. The other guys offered no interesting content, and they only trashed college hockey. 😠

Agreed, the Blackhawks/nhl content is awful. The ads are every 5 mins. They get off topic. These guys 100% didn’t play the game. Nor know how the game works

Yeah it’s not the best but why watch it anyway if it’s not worth spending your time on the stream if you don’t like what they say at all? go somewhere where you can enjoy the content that you like.

You continue to make the nonsense take about Levshunov somehow possibly getting less minutes at Michigan State. That’s completely ridiculous. Another ridiculous take is that for some reason he would play the way he wants at Michigan State. This would mean he would not respect the coaching staff there. There’s no evidence of that. IMO the Blackhawks in the past two seasons will have rushed two teenagers (defenseman no less) into professional hockey. To me there is no reason for this. Korchinski looked beaten down by seasons end. Playing Phillips who is much more physically mature in Chicago and returning Korchinski to the WHL would have been a better plan for both players development.
