    I think you could make a large portion of Gordon Ramsay's tomato/onion/chorizo topping in advance, have some of it mixed with pasta or on a pizza then have some chilled in the fridge for a quick version in the morning, just spoon some on top of your avocado toast.

    Ok heres my avotoast since i think its super tasty: So i throw my thick white bread into the pan with some olive oil until it turned a lil brown on the edges. I smash my avocado & put in garlic powder, onion powder, chilli flakes, salt & pepper & some finely sliced tomatos. When the bread is done i take it off the pan & smear some garlic on it. I smear the avocado on the bread & then crumble feta cheese on it. Trust me, the seasonings are super important

    I would use golden syrup (sparingly) rather than agave for Kylie's recipe. For Meghan's try swapping the chili flakes for Aleppo pepper. It adds a slightly smokey flavor that's really nice. For Gordon's, if you're going to all that trouble, you may as well add a poached egg to each slice. It's more of a Benedict vibe, but Gordon's is already pretty far removed from avo toast as it is. I make avo toast with: 2 slices of your toast of choice (I like a nice crusty Italian bread toasted). Spread a thin lay of room temperature garlic butter (I will often use a vegan butter mixed with a bit of garlic paste - sometimes I feel super lazy and will just pop into the supermarket's bakery department and get a container of their garlic spread (it's made with palm oil rather than butter) and use that instead). Next mix your avo with a bit of olive oil, lemon juice, salt, cracked black pepper, a very small amount of garlic paste, and a bit of Aleppo pepper. Cover and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour. Remove from the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes or so to take off the chill. Give it a quick stir and heap the avo mixture on top of toast (I like a ratio of 2 parts avo to 1 part toast). You can also drizzle with a bit more olive oil and another squeeze of lemon juice if you like. It's quite nice. Feta, Haloumi, or Akkawi would be a nice addition. You can also use gigi paste (garlic and ginger paste found in the Indian section of the market. The most common brand you will see in America is probably Shan.) instead of garlic paste. If you do that I would use regular chili flakes, as the ginger doesn't pair as well with the Aleppo pepper. I would also omit the cheese or swap with paneer instead.

    Underrated comment

  • @KiNGPiN42DBM

    @KiNGPiN42DBM

    2 жыл бұрын

    This is the comment of someone who knows what they're doing... You've got it all down aside from the human interaction and understanding part of speaking menu... Why would a vegan add poached egg and make a Benedict out of a Vegan Chorizo toast +Avocado recipe? See, chefs in general are like I.T. guys... I do both and have been doing both for almost 30 years. I was blessed with the ability to be able to be a robot and efficient machine in the kitchen or in the NOC, yet being able to possess a human quality like charisma goes a long way in both professions. So, commenter, I'm personally going to try everything you commented here because it's (like I said) the comment of someone who know what they're talking about. My only advice for you is to work on your people skills a touch and make that the important part of why you're doing what you do and you my friend will reach exponentially high places... The difference between I.T. guys and Chefs is that the I.T. guy generally is in it for the machines and spent less time with people than the machines as well... The robotic impersonal ways they act are justified for the most part. A chef loves food, and cooking for people, generally a chef, almost always a successful chef works with a team, not always tho, but you're still making food... And unless you're a FRU FRU chef for pets or something else that isn't a thing, then you're making food for people. Knowing how to be a person, a personable person; one that understands how people work while being mindful of that, is kinda your job. If you think being a chef is all about the food then you won't enjoy your career and you're doing it wrong. Technically a scientist could have figured out your additions. But a good chef would have listened to her explain that she uses vegan ingredients a couple few times in the video while she is even mindful of her not vegan viewers and says, "but you can use whatever you'd like..." Is someone who understands people and that would make the perfect chef... So, your knowledge of flavors, food pairing and innovation is pretty goddamn amazing, but since you thought it was more important to spew your skill in the comments instead of figuring out something more personal for her to make a great Ramsay Avo Toast a la Bennie, instead of a poached EGG, you lose the value in the great info you added. Plus, everyone knows the Bennie is only a Bennie because of the Hollandaise sauce. The poached egg would just make some hash... -_- P. S. I'm still going to try what you said because I'm in it for the people, and you're a person and said some pretty valid things that express you have a great food mind... Hope you figure out your human qualities sooner rather than later. Sky is the limit then.

    @@KiNGPiN42DBM Thank you for your feedback. The egg was sarcasm in that Ramsay strayed so far away from avocado toast actually is that he may as well made a Benedict. My apologies if that was unclear. I'll work on it. Thank. I'd be interested to hear your feedback on the other suggestion I've made. I'm glad you're adventurous enough to try. Btw, if you have trouble finding Aleppo pepper and you're in the US, if you're near a World Market, they have it for less than $4. Otherwise any Middle Eastern store will carry it.

    For chutney lovers out there, I love spooning some coriander and mint chutney onto my bread as the base flavor, then adding the avocado toast on top with some salt and cilantro. Super super good! And easy if you already have the chutney made in advance. I also add a bit of vinegar to my chutney so it keeps longer, which also brightens up the toast.

Toasted french bread with avocado, seasoned with salt and lemon, or In hot dogs with mayonaise and tomato (italian style, for its colours). We put it In Burger and all kind of sandwiches really. Even In pizzas (not a fan of this) In Brazil though, they eat avocado as a dessert, with sugar., not In salads.

    Best way to make an avocado toast is: Take 1 avocado. Take a few red cherry tomatoes (the best type of tomatoes), put on toast, eat.

    Don’t use a knife when removing the pit. After halving the avo, use your 2 thumbs on opposite side of cut( skin side) and push. The seed will pop out

    does the garlic at 5:38 look like the store minced brand to anybody else? I heard it contains vinegar which would def augment that taste in the dish if any other sour/acid is added.

    I use one avocado with 2 slices of Ezekiel bread. I put pink Himalayan sea salt, black pepper, and mixed seasonings. I also eat my avocado chunky not smooth like Mayo 🤢-it’s better while chunky not mashed. I also add hot sauce.

    Here's a question, if the avocado gets made into a guacamole, is it still avocado? In my opinion, Gordon's Avocado toast may not be a toast, because is more like a sandwich, but at least he was the only one who got the "avocado" part right.
