I can't wait for the 4th this year I just ordered 25 12" DR11's from Motar Supply. I'm gonna build my first milkcrate rack to compliant my 20 shot rack. I'm also driving out to The Fireworks Superstore out in Hannibal again totally worth the 3-hour drive. I gotta say if I hadn't found your channel last year I wouldn't have known about that gem.

The amount of composition is a biggie but the amount of clay and its compaction in the end plugs makes a difference too. Good clay costs...and manufacturing time too... Always good to see the recommendations from Cody. Find some you like and buy a bunch.

If you notice on the shells wrappers, there labeled 1 through 24. Each number corresponds to the effect that canister shell will perform. Seems they stick the sticker on the cardboard sleeve of the shell as well before its wrapped to avoid confusion.

I try to remember that 500 gram, 60 gram etc are legal limits to define the catagory of firework. It doesn't necessarily guarantee any actual contents whether the manufacturer markets it that way or not. To see a 60 can weigh in at 58 is very impressive. Venom shell kits are only 40 gram shells, good for volleys, but I've watched their price vary from $68 a case to $149.

I picked up Exterminator 5” shells today at Red Apple fireworks in Flint Michigan! They are Megabanger brand, exact same shell as the barely legal. Can’t wait for tonight.

I'm still just a really big fan of the excaliburs and nishiki willows. Bought a case of excals and half a case of nishiki willows for the 4th this year. But gonna try to broaden my horizon on shells. Death shells are so hard to get your hands on these days

The “10” may be an indicator during production how much lift charge to add. Since it came out to 10 grams.

If you get the chance get the tiger DNA shells. They are the best shells I have found in years hands down

The 10 is a factory indicator however not necessarily for the lift charge in China when they’re getting put together by individual workers they go in piles based on effect each effect having a number and when the shells are put together in a kit after labeling they can make sure they are labeling the correct shell effect with the correct label and brand

You can easily hear the difference in the shells break charge and the lift charge with the Barely Legal! I am pretty hearing challenged and that was very obvious! Wow...that dudes stand might have a run very soon! Hell I might jump in the WRX and go buy as many cases as he has!

The number 10 on that shell is there to let u know that it's the 10th shell out of the 24 in the kit 😂 lol hope that helped

cody, if using milk crates would it be ok to run duct tape around the edge of the crate and the outer tubes to pull them together tighter and help keep a tube from jumping?

There's not enough of a difference between the various types of canister shells to make stressing over which ones to buy worth it, IMO. They are ALL pretty damn good. And most of them are very similar in performance. I recommend buying those you can get the best deal on. For me, those shells are usually Brothers "Quest" or Megabanger "Exterminator" cans. While there are shells out there that have slightly bigger breaks or create a bit more noise, the two shells mentioned above give performance that is plenty adequate and costs much less than some of the "grail" brands people obsess over that are only marginally better.

I think barely legal is better but both a GREAT!!

I just got 3 cases of the barely legal shells 72 of them and I can’t wait for the 4th of July 🧨🔥🇺🇸

PyroMichael19 lite a few off the other night in my opinion they are great shells it’s noise difference compared to a 4 inch can is definitely noticeable. Breaks were nice, some better then others not really such a size difference compared to a 4 inch canister but overall a solid hard hitting canister shell.

I doubt he can give anything away first off he has to buy with his own money and he would have to have it shipped on a semi to you because it's explosives. What he could do is partner will the fireworks store and maybe they could give away a gift card or in-store credit but even that is a long shot

You gotta get away from those zip ties man. Ive never had a failure with packing tape and its 10 times faster. I could hardly tell a difference with the shells, they looked good but you shot them all at once so i couldn't tell...Can you do some more side by side comparisons?

Barely Legal is clearly the better shell but I enjoyed both. Phantom has some impressive canister shells, I'm just not a fan of how overpriced their products are.

So I was in my local fireworks store and the had these just plane black box with a nice tube and some 6pack shells wrapped in the same red prizem wrapping but were in named for $19...could these have been kits that were broke down and sold ....Same effect also...please let me know good deal or not...

i have a quick question if anyone knows the prices for those shell kits? there's a store about 45 minuets away from me that might have them but I'm just trying to figure out if the prices there are worth buying in compared with other retailers that might also be selling these kind. point is, i don't want to get ripped off.
