For all those asking about whether or not the 450 fits under the seat on a plane, yes it does. I’ve flown about 6 times with it so far and every time it just barely squeezes under. It’s tight and your leg room is gone, but it definitely fits (I’m not sure about every airline but I flew British Airlines, American Airlines, Delta, and United and the bag fit on those) also you may need to take off any external attachments that might add some bulk to the exterior of the bag to make it fit under the seat. I have come back and watched this video like 10 times and I already have both bags. I wish I could give it more thumbs up. It had exactly the information I needed way back when I bought my 450 but it’s the comic relief that keeps me watching it over and over.

It is bigger - I couldn't tell how much - but I was able to pause the video at 2:17, and it really does show the difference. I had ordered (and have received) the 350, but I have a Nikon 200-500, and while it fits across the bottom of the 350, it pushes on the side just a little bit - and while I'm 5'11", and I've seen people who are 5'10" be happy with the 350, they had narrow torsos, and the 350 feels tiny on my back. One of my main goals is to use the bag while mountain biking, and I thought the 450 would be too big, but seeing how small the 350 is, in person, and then seeing your video with the size comparisons, I can see that the 450 is the one for me. It isn't that I can carry that much more gear, though that's an option - it is more about the fit, comfort, for my frame, since my back and shoulders are (I guess) wider than the 'narrow' people in those other videos ... So hard to explain what I mean, without coming across the wrong way! LoL Thanks for the vid, it helped me choose the 450 (after having just bought the 350). Cheers

Thanks for the comparison video, enabled me to make an informed decision on which to buy based on size. TY. I am moving form the Hazard 4 Sling style, which is awesome for a light load, but with 3 lenses, 2 gopros, chargers, batteries etc. its just no longer comfortable with 26lbs of kit in it + doesn't fit the laptop.

Just got the Lowepro Protactic 350 AWII. It's true that it isn't as big as I thought either. But I plan to keep it for intown and short trips and purchase a 450 for field trips where my 200-400 lens is needed. I managed to fit it in the 350 but the bag is shorter and the weight doesn't seem to distribute properly and the waist belt hits to high on the stomach.

I dragged the 350 around for over 2-3 years , still looks great takes d850s with grips , and pro lenses , but i need something to fit a bigger lens so my 450 fits the bill nicely , i tried temba axis 32 but it seems huge , ok if you carry a dollop of gear , but the 450 is great for a 200-500 on my d850 with room for a nikon 70-200 f2.8 or 24-70 2.8 , plenty weight for me , the bags are tough and the rain cover stops them getting covered in muck when you put them down back first , you dont end up wearing the muck because of how they open , big bonus when your out in all conditions , the bag has never let me down and has kept its integrity through hot summers and soggy winters , at least two of each

Out of interest would the 200-500 and 80-200 with 2x camera bodies fit in the 350? I'm looking for the most compact for travel on safari. They don't need to be mounted on the bodies. Need compact for the small planes on the internal flights.

The original intent of this video is actually very helpful, as a visual person, I like seeing side-by-side comparisons. The rest of the content, is as you say yourself, is gibberish, and I cant help think that it wont help your channel grow. Perhaps a loose draft script as guideline might help.

Just received my Protactic 450 today. I really want it to stand upright when I set it down. I noticed if I pull out the rain cover the bag stands up perfectly. I may cut the rain cover out because I would very rarely need it.

Thanks. this is actually useful, I have question though. I would like to buy 450 one, but I need it to fit carry on rules on plane. Problem: 450 is 2 cm too big in depth. In case they check dimensions before flight - does depth of 450 compress 2 cm if pushed or it just like a brick? I also guess shoulder and stomac straps would play against me if they decide to measure that bag...

Koté, I did not realize how much bigger the 450 is. Your video clearly shows the size difference which is significant. Price wise (August 2022) that are only $1 apart! I like the 450 as it gives me a lot more room while the 350 is really compact. I do have other bags closer to size to both (three small ones and one big one). I like all the features, pouches, removable belt and the tactical bands on the 450 as they will come in handy on my field shoots. Do you use both or only one of them? Thanks.

I've got the 350, it's a great bag.. But... small.. still more than enough space camera + 100-400 + 85 + 16-35. couple extra batteries, some SD cards.. And I clip a tripod on the back of it.. which is enough for a day of shooting for me for landscapes, event, etc. You do "have" to be a little selective on what you bring.. which is fine for me. I don't need 10 lenses, don't need my laptop, iPad, chargers for everything, cleaning kits, filters, flashes etc with me at all times.. I will have those with me, but I'll leave that at home/car/hotel and run around with a more condensed setup in the backpack. and a far more manageable size to run around with. Still feel like they should make a protactic 400 though, something that just sits in the middle. it needs that Goldilocks size.. not to big.. not too small..

Bro, your review was good and straight to the point ... I don't get those dislikes and comment saying you make too many jokes.. You did what many others haven't: give a set of gear example and how it fits in both bags; then you compared the sizes clearly, relevant and not often seen either. Anyway! No need to go on. I guess the dislikes were just due to usual expectations that have been occulted by an unusual perspective and that is what made your review logically outstanding and cool. The extra bits of fun and super fine and welcome!

Any place for a hydration bladder i just got a lowepro whister 450 it has a place for a hydration bladder but no hole to route the tube why?? The black tactical look of those bags looks pretty cool.

Capacity differences aside, how comfortable are the straps between the two bags when fully loaded. I'm 5'7", and prefer backpacks to be high up near my shoulders. I'm concerned that the 450 size will hang too low on my back.

i have 450 aw ii but it's really big and heavy. I have to try 350 AW ii because 450 is bigger than i thought.

I wish the 350 AW was a little bit deeper. You lose a lot of space because you can't put your lens vertically. I also have a 450 with trolley system and I don't see myself ever carrying 15-20kg of gear on my back. If a 400 AW will come out, I'll definitely sell both the 350 and the 450.

I don't get the dislikes, it helped me choose between them. Gonna order the 450 since it can fit in airlines but bigger storage. People need to chill, KZread hasn’t been the best to differentiate between content and quality. It's good that they are taking out the dislike button. Good video man, keep it up! (y)

why nobody carry a gimbal like ronin s or zhiyun in the backpack? do only photographers need a good camera bag?

On a plane you can definitely take it as a carry on. However, I don’t know if you can take it as a personal item. I don’t know if it’ll fit under the seat. I was gonna bring it on this last trip but didn’t want to risk it.

the 450 its bigger your right but once its full its heavy so I got the 350 and its heavy in addition for travel the 350 u can bring as personal item under seat and still bring a carry on. for over head when travel its better light incase you need to run from gorillas ,iguanas ,bees, turtles or shitty cops

It would be great if in your wanderings around your apartment you tried on both so we can see how each one fits you. Otherwise very helpful.

Out of the bags id get the temba axis 24l, the protactic inner pocket is useless and puts pressure on the inner equipment , the protactic is tough iv got both , like them a lot , but the temba has the same and a bit more , plus them tough dividers are uber stiff and rigid , with room for a telescopic stool , and camo poncho i use as a hide
