Quick update, the 15" MBP will not fit in the 350 version :( Anyways, Lowepro has the 450 and the new Freeline as well that can fit! :) Hope this helps guys!

I love photography bag videos having made a few myself. Lowepro make some great bags I still use my fastpack 250 it's solid bag for mid sized shoot.
Great review man. Covered heaps of questions I didn’t know I had at the time. B-roll was well shot and super unobtrusive. I’ve probably watched 20 reviews on this bag but this one meant I could stop. Wish I’d seen it first. Great content. Cheers!
Thanks for the awesome review. We're using this bag now to carry our vlogging setup and it's the perfect size! Also, since you mentioned that the waist strap is hard to insert/remove... it's actually a lot easier if you unzip the main zipper first because the part where the waist strap goes in is more flexible when it's not zipped down. Hope that tip helps you out, have a good one!
This is great. Thank you. I got this as a Christmas present for all my gear. It holds the very large Sony 200-600mm lens quite nicely with all my other equipment. Can't wait to take it in the field!
Awesome video! I love your comparison with Peak Design's bag. I also think that you made an honest and balanced review. You covered the good things about this bag and what can be improved. Thank you for making this video!
Amazing review !!! Came on KZread to check and I’m sold
Thank you for letting me know that they upgraded the model! Love the fact that it has a removable waist strap and reshaped the hardtop. This was a great review!

Good content, man! I did not expect the video to be that good. Thank you for making this!
Great video Mike, love your personality bro! Keep them coming 👊🏽
Hey fantastic video. I actually have the 450 Protactic and I just want to say that you have provided information about the bag that I did not know or notice. I. never knew or thought about using the hip support belt on its own. I also use the Peak Design camera clip and you have given me more choices about how to use it with the bag. Way to go! thank. you
Great review. I've been looking at that pack for my own gear, and you answered a lot of my questions.
Thank u so much for this really cool and clear review(and video of course!)!U convinced me and i just ordered one! Really cool!!
Great job on the review - answered every one of my questions and a bunch more I didn't think to ask. You earned a click through purchase! I was laughing halfway through when I was like "How tall is he? - you know - for perspective, and then 3 seconds later you said "I'm 5'7" creepy lol...thanks again!

Glad i found your video man! I didn't even know there was a version 2 of the product and i almost bought the first version of the backpack! Thank you :P
Great review, helpful info, and what an awesome idea using paper to insert the removable waist strap! 👍🏻
I have the 350 AW Gen 1 and I love it aside from the bulkiness. I love how it can hold a lot of stuff along with my camera gear, but the overall width kind of kills it for me. Walking through busy sidewalks and standing in packed trains in Japan made me think of people around me. I always had to be on guard to make sure I didn't hit people behind or next to me. I like how they slimmed it down a bit and added additional straps on the top side pockets. I may have to upgrade to this soon.
@MikeWat

I had to move the side attachments to the back of the bag when I was in japan to reduce my size and not hit other people while walking xD
I bought the 450 AW II yesterday. I’m looking forward to taking it out to my gigs.
Great job explaining the good thing about the bag. Very informative. I watched reviews about this bag on youtube, none of them is as good and as informative as your video. You help me decide to buy this bag. BTW, nice handy tip on how to put the waist strap back in. Thanks for the review, keep up the good work.
Mike, thank you for the great review. You hit all the selling spots of this bag very well. Given that the 350 and the 450 are priced almost the same, I would opt for the 450. Yes the 450 is quite a bit bigger but still manageable. The 350 would be perfect for my camera and a few lenses I have. The 450 would allow me to but my gimbal and a few other video related items in the same bag, hence eliminating the need for a second bag. Inclusion of the molle system is brilliant.
I actually just got the WANDRD PRVKE 21 V2 and now I'm going to return it for this. Love the size of this. The wandrd is bigger but can hold less gear than this. Weird. Awesome video! Lowepro it is...
Very well done and informative review! Thanks!

Many LowePro packs later, I am still impressed with this one, just purchased today.
I just purchased the original 350 because I couldn't see any improvement with the newer version. The original does have a hard top. I can fit my 14 inch Lenovo X1 carbon. My Olympus EM1.2 with 40-150 Pro and extension will fit in sideways. Based on the estimated length of the 150-400 Pro, the EM1.2 will fit from the top. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you for a well done and informative video. Really helped me out in my decision. The velcro trick was killer! Quick question: was the quick release holder the peak design v3? Greetings from Italy.
Great review Mike. Thank you, helped me to decide.
Good review! But next time please could you wear something lighter or anything but black when reviewing a black backpack? Or add more lights! I think your room is too dark. I had to pause & rewind multiple times to see if the backpack looked small or large whilst you were wearing it. Thanks!

Fantastic review!! Really like the functionality of the bag, the only thing I would say is it doesn't look like is big enough for any zooms such as a 70-200mm or may be even a 150-600mm for wildlife. May be I will need to take a look at the 450. But, good job though all the same!!
Thanks for informative video. Great tip for mounting the belt to rucksack. Subscribed.

Hey Mike great review. I just purchased bag for a week trip. What brand of tripod are you using. I need a good compact tripod
Great review thanks, and great tip about the waist strap and paper to refit 🙂. So yet another photo rucksack with a laptop sleeve that can't take a Hydro Pack, or can it? This is essential when I'm skiing, or cycling. Water bottles are usless and not accessible, even when your hiking, or walking, forcing you to stop and remove the rucksack. It's already got the required webbing straps on the shoulder straps to feed the Hydro Pack hose through. Maybe you could give it a go and report back?
definitly this is a great backpack! Thanks for review :) best time before christmas ^^

great review!!!!
Excellent video, which is your headphones? which is your tripod?
Great review! Don't know if you still have this bag, but how much room is there in the upper portion of the bag (above the side access portion)?
I have the 350 older version and a I miss a quick access pocket for my wallet, passport, iphone (both pockets on the side are too small). Besides that it is an amazing backpack! Still deciding an upgrade between the 450 II or the Peak Design 30L.

Dear Mike thanks a lot for yours awesome review👍👍👍 Just a question about the space on protactic 350 awII…you think is it enough for r6+24-70, rsc2 and mini 2? Thanks in advance… Greetings from Italy👋🏻
loving the videos .. fellow creator frm ndia, just found ur channel few dayss ago. i hv just got the nomatic travel bag mckinnon version and .. oh my oh my .. its so heavy. can’t use it as a everyday bag. was looking into a lighter more compact option fr everyday use .. liking the peak design and this lowerpro one .. but the tripod pockets on the sides seems too small, and i wonder if it can fit a peak design travel tripod ?
It seems to me like a good hack to get your bag to sit up without falling over would be to place a piece of stiff cardboard or plastic inside the bottom to make it flatter. I'm leaning towards purchasing that LowePro Tactic BP 350 AW II bag, but I'm undecided about which size would suit me better (the 350 or the 450). I definitely prefer the new improved version over the old version even if I have to pay a higher price. I like your studio setup and colors. It was easy on my eyes. Great review video. Thanks Mike.

Thanks Bob for the tip Bob! I love the 350 for my use, it really depends on the amount of gear you need to bring :) Cheers!
I have both AW 250 and AW 450. I'm considering going for 350. 450 is very large, but the problem is that it's also very deep. You can fit the world in there, lol. I have A7R IV, 135mm, 90mm, 35mm, and Mavic 2 Pro and 250 is too small, 450 is too big. Love these bags, they are sturdy, you can attach stuff on the back and they are quite comfortable with straps for both around your belly and your chest. Makes heavy bags so much easier to carry around.
Nicely done Mike... Thanks.
Clutch vid! Helped me choose in 2020.
The bright orange logo presence on the bag is like a walking advertisement to anyone looking to steal camera gear. I've always put black tape over logos that ID my bag as a camera bag in such an obvious way. That, plus the quick access panel on the lower side, really drop the security score on this, in my opinion
Very helpful video, thank you. What is that clip you use to attach your camera to the belt. Can you advise a product name or give an affiliate link? Cheers!

i have the 450, i love everything apart from the quick access as I do travel to unsafe places sometimes, and I always worry people can just open your bag without you noticed, so I just put the rain proof cover over it.

Great point buddy! I think it is possible to put a little TSA lock to prevent people from opening the bag as well :)
I have the AW450. After going through dozens of camera bags and cases, this one certainly fits my needs. I also love how inconspicuous it looks. It doesn't scream camera bag like others. I used a black sharpie and colored in the "Lowepro" log, so it's even more tactical!!! :)

thanks for the vid. I really hoped the 350 could carry a 15"laptop. The 450 is a bit too much of a chunky boy for me. You saved me a bit of research time.
Nice video. I have the lowepro 250 AW II but it is a little to big for the Ryanair standards. I looking for the 350 AW II but i am not sure if it fits : 1)sony a7iii with kit lens 2) Zeiss 55 1.8 3) sony 90mm macro 4) dji gimbal rsc2 5) 2 small light 6) 13 inches laptop. Do you thing all this thing can fit in there ?
Hey man, just a question: can I move the dividers (orange and gray ones) as I want? Maybe you mentioned this but I missed it. Do you think a 100-400 lens mounted on a DSLR would fit inside moving those dividers? Thank you a lot! PS: great review!

Maybe 1 camera and 4 lenses or 2 cameras and 2-3? But if you want 2 cam + 4 lenses, you're gonna want to check out the 450 version 👍😋
Thanks Mike, loved this review and the Peak Design Everyday Backpack review that brought me here. You've mostly sold me on this one, but a nice aspect of the PDEB that you demo'ed was how well the expanding top compartment worked for cramming in a jacket. How would you handle a jacket with this one? Do the supplied straps work well for attaching one to the back? I hope you follow up with a "what's in my bag" on this one. I'm also curious how well it works for juggling, say, 3 lenses in the field without having to lay it on the ground to open it up.
@MikeWat

Great question! I've been using the protactic on my Japan trip for 11 days now, and I've been using the clip/strap on the bback to hold my jacket on the outside - it works very quick and well!! I'll definetly make a video in Japan to show what's in my bag and other neat tricks I've found using the bag to hold my gear :) It might be a bit difficult juggling 3 lenses but 2 is definitely do-able for me - Btw I don't have that many lenses, more like just my kit lens as I just switched to the A7iii and I'm still a newbie photographer/videographer, but I'll try my best to explain that in the what's in my bag video :)!

@@MikeWat Thanks for the response! Since you've been travelling, I wonder if you're using that new horizontal strap in the back of the protactic to hook it to the extended handle of a suitcase, and how well it works in practice. I love your videos for your focused delivery and tight editing - you get 30 mins of info and wit into a 10 minute video!
Howdy, Mike! I carry the Nikon f2.8 Trinity lenses, plus a Nikon 50mm f1.8, and a Nikon 105 f2.8G ED Micro lens. I think it will all fit into the LowePro Protactic 350 AW BP II, but wonder if carrying it will be comfortable. What do you think? I'm considering the 350, or the Mindshift 18, or 26L Backlight bags. Carrying comfort is very important to me, as well as ease of accessing my gear. If you have time, please share your thoughts, Sir. Thanks, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc Mark
