10 wides are honestly universally appreciated, from a big, heavy F250 to a light, short 2 door wrangler. They give off a bit more then “barley” poking, but don’t sacrifice ride quality. Most also offer a decent amount of offset which eliminates most of the worry for rubbing on inner components.

This might be hard to believe, but, there are Many of us out here that actually like the look 10 wides, and we're not business men. But, I'm not 12 years old anymore either... All sarcasm aside, I've enjoyed this channel for years, you guys do a great job!

I’m sporting some 20x9’s and my truck looks great.

I think that the next step for this video series would be a bunch of different rim diameters on the same 33 or 35 inch tall tire and just talk about the roughness or smoothness of the ride. I know some people are worried about their truck riding like a stage coach on 24s and 35s so I think that would be a good idea.

I just ordered a set of Hostile Reapers in 9 wide. 12 offset, but still more poke than the oem wheels, since they have a lot more positive offset. With a 295/60/20, with the Icon suspension, I think they’ll look awesome.

Just got my truck almost two months ago (stock) and honestly I’d be happy with a 9 wide.

I put 17x9 -12 mayhem cortex wrapped with Goodyear wrangler duratrac - but key is 315/70R/17 which is 34.4 x 12.7 - little trim on plastic valence - it’s in 21 GMC 1500 Sierra AT4 baby diesel- rides way better - I added more pics to the gallery to help others too- great video banker !!

I'm 55 and my third gen. Tacoma TRD crew cab long bed has 20x12's with 33/12.50 renegade RT and a 6in. lift to me the perfect set up. for a Taco

Damn it I want my Superduty turning heads now!!! Soon my truck will have nice a nice shiny set of chrome Caesars on it. Can’t wait for the next video.

Oh wow the 10 wides look soooooo much better than those ugly 14 wides. I just don’t understand the super low profile sidewall roller skate look. Why don’t people like their trucks to actually look like trucks? Chunky sidewalls with a nice tread pattern is a great look. Like you said, the more sophisticated off-road look.

I think people are doing 12s and 14s wide to do along with the crowd. They don't have their own taste. 10s to me have always been the best looking. Gives a nice aggressive stance, good to drive, and just look way better.

I just upgraded my 2004 FX4 from its 18 x 7.5 factory rims to Fuel Assaults 18 x 9 w/-13 offset. looks effing awesome now!!

I had some aftermarket wheels on my 16 ram 2500 diesel same size as the stock ones but with a little offset and the stock tires mounted on them I couldn’t get used to seeing them stick out every time I looked in the mirror I sold them And luckily I kept my stock wheels and put them back on and I’m glad I did as the next year my wife and I pulled our trailer to Alaska, all the gravel, sand and rocks on the Alaska HWY probably would have damaged my paint and also going to the Artic Circle and over the top of the world Hwy to Dawson city, I guess at 63 years I’m just old school still have the stock wheels with toyo open country rt and happy with this set up.

I remember watching the first custom office video and I wanted 12 wide I drive a 2013 Ford F-150 at that time it was leveled I was rubbing scraping doing everything it was super annoying then I got 4 inch lift I still had my 12 wides and there was still rubbing super annoying and then I went with the 6-in lift 17x9 -18 offset still have about 2 and 1/2 in of poke with a 35 inch tall tire truck rides amazing I used to be into the wides not anymore

9 or 10 wides = best comfort and best towing characteristics without making your ball joints wear out in 20k

I’m still torn on the 10s or 12s for my Ram. I love the look and stance of 12s but I love the more off-road look of the 10s with the fatter sidewall. Very tough choice.

​@RocketVet of you want bigger sidewall, you need a taller tire jot a wider tire necessarily. Example: 20x12 with a 35 would give you more sidewall than 20x10 on 33

If I made more on a 14” wheel I’d pump it up too. Be real the best look and least amount of damage. 12” up will chip your paint up and chew up every component in the front end. I’ve been running 22x12 with 35” ridge grapplers the past few years. Should a just stuck to a 20x10. Never had any curb rash always rode good got good mileage out of the tires never had to replace every component in my front end do to wheels sticking out so far. Also ridge grapplers suck !! I got 26k out of a 12 ply ridge grappler and 45k with more tread left at time of changing vs the ridge grapplers with the cooper stt pro didn’t chip up the whole side of my truck either I tow 12k plus a lot and never had one issue with the coopers all the way up to 45k miles. Started having tire separation on the ridge grappler at 25-26k. Nitto is junk the last four sets I Bought were a waist of money. Terra grapplers on my wife’s titan started cracking in the tread at about half life of the tire so I chalked it up to a bad set bought another set same thing so I put ridge grapplers on her truck. At least she’s getting about 35k out of them so far but still not lasting as long as the soft @$$ dune grapplers we ran years ago and that tire isn’t meant to last. So nitto has went to sh@ . This round I’m switching up on my ram 2500 going to run 20x10 with a cheap @$$ tire venom R/T. Nitto better hope this tire doesn’t out perform their over priced garbage. Want a good reliable tire that in a 10ply will out perform a 12 ply nitto? Then I recommend cooper stt pro can’t go wrong with them. I’m not biased I’ve run nitto and cooper the past 12 years and nitto use to be the top choice but now days cooper is putting them to shame.

Ordering some 20×12 -44 wrapped in 37×13.50 for the ol 3rd gen 2500. Should be slightly aggressive?

10 wides are like the off-road set up so you can have a lot of tire side wall

9 wide, I like stock look, its more functional (less cutting) and I like a taller/narrow look. Simplicity is just hard to beat

Im running Fuel Vapors 20X9 on Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/65/20 on my 19 F250.

Both my rams (02 and 16) front body tapers in the front of the body from the rear of the body. And idk if it just an optical illusion, but depending on where I stand in the front or the rear of the truck. The front tires (20x10 -24) look like they have more poke than the rear. If I throw a 1/2" spacer on the rears, you think it will look goofier?

TBH, those 10” wide wheels with the 12.5 tires look super clean. 👀 Definitely a mature setup for sure, but the ladies don’t see any difference between those and the 14’s.

Not what I've expected. I thought you will use same profile tires on different wheel sizes. Wheel size will not make a difference as much as the way the sidewall proportion is in relationship to the wheel poke. I run 10s on 12.5 rubber and its decently comfortable without the roughness of having the wheel wider than the tire. Sure, I can't take highway ramps 15mph over like a stretched setup would allow but I'll take that turn handicap for road comfort any day.

I ride a 10 wide on a 35x17 on a F 150 I have a negative 25 offset with mud guards so there is a flush finish I’m not into to much poke I live at the base of a mountain on a dirt road in California next to some ski slopes so I haul ass rain or shine my truck is filthy always of course only the outside sorry to babble many beers and shots love the content keep it up 👍

8.5 inch methods on 37s or 35s on that truck would look amazing

This was a good video, but I have to say, it's not as informative as it could have been because you left out the offset details for each of those wheels. Since many wheels come in varying offsets, that plays a huge role on how the wheel will poke out and handle. I currently have 22" x 12" fuel Hardlines that have a -44 offset wrapped in 35 x 13.5. Trucks stance looks great... Paint Job.... not so much. Destroyed my rockers. I'll be saving up for new wheels and tires. Going with a 20 x 10 with a -18 offset with 37 x 13.5s with wide fender flares to have the wheels poke some, but keep the tread JUST inside the flares to save the truck. The offest of the wheels matter most. Especially with tire clearances.

I'm running 10×20 -12 w/ 37/12.5 on my RAM 3500. As much as I want to go 12 wide, the 10s just do better. I do notice the float with it so maybe 12s are in my future

20x10 on my ‘02 F-350 4x4 that’s lowered 4” total. Clears no problem!

2004 Silverado 2500 91k miles initially on 20x10 wides 35’s for 6years switched up to 20x12’s harder to steer at a stand still and blew my steering pump and gear. Replaced all pump, gear hoses. even upgraded to kryptonite pitman, idler kit, steering is better but still noticeable resistance in the steering at a slow rolling turn. Thinking it’s the 12 wides. Looking to switch back to 10’s. No forums or videos speak on the turning at an almost dead stop like pulling out of a parking space… and the effects on the steering gear. Can Anyone else chime in on this or should I be now focusing on a weak hydroboost?

@@Cheepauctioncars It has the front springs changed to the 3 1/2 lift and has reservoir Fox shock all the way around. I also have a full replacement Fab4s with 12K Warn in it, so its heavy in the front.

I don't have too much experience with super wide wheels, like 14's & up... but having 2 GM trucks with 10 wide & 12 wides, the 10's are perfect for my DD as the 12 wides get a little sketchy in the rain & going over bumps on the freeway. I don't know why but they seems to get the truck a little sideways at times, regardless I love both setups.

I have a 2nd gen 2500 with 12 wides so I’m not really familiar with 14 wides or even 16’s. So I get where your coming from. Y’all as a group, company, organization are helping thousands of people across the country build their dream trucks. So for other people, it will really help them get started on what kind of build they actually wanna persue.

That is one downsides of a wider tire. It will hydroplane easier due to the increased surface area.

I ran 12 and 14 wide on my first two superdutys and it was to use it offroad not mallcrawling. And ive also ran 12 wides on new trucks. And whether you have oem, 10 wides or 12 wides you can do anything offroad you did with the other 2. A 20 and a 33 has quite a bit of sidewall.

Not a fan of the low profile tires on trucks. I like a tall sidewall.

I still do not see why people like the tires sticking out soooo much. It does not look to me at all appealing.....not to mention if u go mudding off road etc u will scratch and ding the shit out of ur truck

I’ve always thought that 20x10 was the best option for anyone towing anything or daily driving. I understand wider is better for some things while towing, but take a 14 wide to a tight boat ramp. Everyone is staring at you while your not able to go full turn and making a racket with the rubbing, but the Arlin’s look good😂

Ok I think them 9 wides looks so days good on that truck idk if it’s my farmer point of view or what but it looks good the 10 does too

Very informative video. Every wheel has different back spacing and offset. 9, 10, 12, 14 ? Didn’t say what back spacing on any of these wheels were. The poke will be different on different wheels. Not every 10” wheel has same back spacing and so on.

I run a 20x10 -24 with 35/12.5

So the rims sizes are the ones that make you wide ? No need for spacers ??

Pretty sure it means the truck walks some like it does when you put on new aggressive meaty tires. It's not a hard pull but feels like it's rolling on a memory foam mattress if that makes any sense. If it's a daily driver you won't notice it after 3 or 4 days.

Honestly a 10” with a -25mm offset is pretty beefy. -30mm which unfortunately is not as common is even more aggressive. After that each tire brand is different in width. A 33x12.50 are not all the same width. You’d have to look and measure the tires that gives you the most width. A -30 offset on a 10” wheel works best for me. GM trucks the rears are tucked in a bit so a 1’ 1/4” wheel adapters lines the rear and front track nicely. A beefy look without going overboard……….. i know you guys at custom offsets know all this im just saying lol
