17:36 Correction: Giving the Fly keyword to a unit does not grant Fly (gameplay-wise) to each model in that unit other than the Leader who inherently has it in the Datasheet. All it does is debuff the Bodyguard with Anti-Fly (nom nom for my Icarus Array Onager and Armiger Helverin). Same way as my Datasmith grants his giant Kastelan Robots the Infantry keyword, but they can't phase through Ruins like actual Infantry can, instead they can only cry about Anti-Infantry weapons which now affect them. To make it easy(ish) to understand: Rules that target "Units" take advantage of the added keyword (I shoot at you, you're all Fly because 1 dude is Fly and shooting targets Units, gun is Anti-Fly, I happy). Rules that target "Models" do not take advantage of granted keywords, only those inherent to your datasheet. In short, 99% of bad stuff affects Units, whereas 99% of good stuff is on a model-per-model basis (actually flying, ignoring walls as infantry, being able to get into a vehicle, all your dreams with Palatine and Celestine, etc)

Christian with the hot takes! The general sentiment of: Sisters can be played in a bunch of different ways, is very true. There is no super strong single way to use them if you want to win and that's actually pretty nice. It would just be nice if all of those different ways of playing them were a bit stronger... So that you could, you know, do better than 40% win rate.. But now I have to tell you all about the mistakes you made! Castigators are good. Without using miracle dice they are a bit better than the Exorcist, with dice for damage the math becomes uncertain, but they are also less points and do have 3 heavy bolters. You have to factor in that Ignores Cover is essentially +1 AP in this edition. They are very playable. Also Scrisancts are apparently good. There was a Sisters player running 3 full units of 10 of them that went 4-1 in a tournament so they must be good 😝 And Celestine is auto include, because she's the Queen.

Yeah I have never seen a list of Sisters at a tournie that makes it very far without a couple castigators. It's just a damn good tank.

It is nice to see someone else notice how strong acros actually are. I do admit I haven't been thinking highly on Battle Sisters but I guess due to how... precarious... the Adepta Sororitas' are that a heavy focus on objectives more than anything else is mandatory. Probably more so than every other army out there since we pay a premium for nerfed melta guns, loss of rules and woefully inconsistent detatchment that most of the army seems balanced around being active on full squads on turn 1.

While I may not agree with you on everything in this (It's mostly the Castigators I disagree with you on xD) I always love when I am able to learn from your incredible amount of experience with the Sisters, and as usual your wit and candor make me smile. I felt a lot of pressure to take castigators and exorcists in my army. I already decided against it, electing to take more BSS, Pengines, and Seraphim instead for a fast assault style list, but you made me more confident in my decision! Good video! You just got another subscriber :)

Super-good video. Major thanks for pointing out the advantages of the Palatine over the Canoness - I hadn't noticed the Palatine is even cheaper by 5 points, let alone that it can also combo with a Dialogus, and replacing the Canoness with a Palatine gave me exactly enough room to put a Dialogus in my 500-point list I have written up: - Battle Sisters + Palatine for Lethal Hits to skip wound rolls + Dialogus (forcing 6-rolls to invoke Lethal Hits isn't necessary when I could just Miracle Dice a wound roll, but being able to use Stratagems while battle-shocked could be useful) - Castigator with Autocannons (which seem to also benefit from the Triumph's "add 1 to Attacks of Rapid Fire weapons" buff and have a big range) - Triumph, Argent Shroud toggle - to overwhelm small games through weight of dice, and Valorous Heart (Feel No Pain 6+ aura) could also help And then my 1000-point list I have written up brings in Celestine, a full complement of Seraphim or Zephyrim (I haven't decided whether to focus on hit-and-run shooting or on aggressive melee, the latter of which would also benefit from the Triumph's Bloody Rose toggle if I can keep Celestine and company close enough to it), and an Exorcist built for specializing in counter-tank. I could even fit a Hospitaller (40 points) in there. Question: The Dialogus can piggyback on a Battle-Sisters squad that already has a Palatine, but the Hospitaller has the same rule. Could the Hospitaller also double-piggyback on the same unit, giving the Sisters squad three leaders (Palatine → Dialogus → Hospitaller) ? Though I realize that's a lot of investment to supercharge one unit instead of just throwing in another Sisters squad or, with the leaders' combined point costs, another Immolator somewhere down the line to go along with the one I already had planned for higher-points games. I usually skim through tier-list videos, but there was not a wasted second here, especially with your summation at the very end that there are many different ways to build and play this army. If I add Arco-Flagellants in there at some point, I definitely want to keep them near a Bloody Rose-toggled Triumph so they should be able to get Lethal Hits and Sustained Hits at the same time.

Nice list - yes the Castigator autocannons do get extra shots because it is rapid-fire. The rules commentary says there is a cap of 2 characters per unit, so Palatine+Hosp or Palatine+Diolog. Doing more hit and run with seraphim is thematic to the lore and lets them operate outside of the Triumph bubble (which will probably only cover 2 objectives) Thank you!

Lovely work, as always! I do look forward to more specific-unit focus soon, and I hope that Battle Sisters are at the top of that list. I've got three boxes waiting to be assembled (having just gotten the starter set monopose ones done), and I'm not sure, yet, how I want them armed, or how the Sister Superior should be kitted out.

I have the two Blackstone Fortress characters, 4 crusaders because Imperial Guard used to be able to take them, and Ephrael Stern, because she used to be an agent of the Imperium. I'm also subscribed to the Imperium magazines which will get me 500pts of Sister of Battle, so I guess I'll start a small SoB force.

Novitiates can work with the Palatine, mostly to help her with their unit buffs which are quite good, like mr.Kolodner did ;)

Depending on the character and the edition, characters have often provided more than the slight boost to Ld and better attacks. In many of the editions for example they provided a static bonus to the unit or nearby units (Pedro Kantor granting +1 attacks for example).

In my half-dozen games in 10th I have taken a Retributor squad with Heavy Bolters and been pleased. The key seems to be placing them in a ruin 6" or more above the battlefield. Then they have 12 S5 shots at AP-2 damage 2, exploding 6s to hit and rerolling damage rolls of 1 all without requiring any sort of support. I only wish they could take a simulacrum imperialis :( In the main yes I think your list is on target and I do enjoy your videos. :)

I've had some fun plugging Rets into a rhino to be a moble fire support via fireing deck. 2x multimeltas and 2x heavy bolters to swap profiles between targets/range. Taking an immolator to split a dominion / battle sister squad and have the other half ride shotgun along with the Rets helps add a little chaff to dump on a (un)contested primary or cover while the chaff work twords a secondary :)

I useually just play with my friends for fun so I don't much care about the rankings and stuff I just mainly watch to listen for cool combos. I'm personally doing the rather fiddly triumph and retributers/Dialogus Miracle spam combo. I've been trying to figure out if one can do this and as far as I can tell from the core rules this should be possible: Deploy the immolator with your choice of unit you want to split. Then in the first round get that unit you split up to jump out of the transport and get your retributers, which you have deployed next to the immolator, inside. As I remember it, a unit jumping out of a transport that has not moved get their full movement. You can always get into a transport so long as you are close enough. So doing this you get to: 1: Split the unit 2: still have them on the board with their full movement 3: you get to put whatever you want, in my case the retributers, inside the immolator and have it move. The only thing you are missing out on is the option for the unit in the immolator to disembark the that turn. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know it's a niche game mode, but do you think you could do a crusade oriented tier? Sisters run a lot of epic heros that go against the feel of crusade and I am struggling a but with my force. I play crusade sisters too - it gets weird and depends on what enhancements you have as to how good things are. Last edition a double range meltapistol was amazing, now we don't have the range increase option. I think it might be too niche to get good views on unfortunatly

I'm a big fan of sister and if I played tabletop I would run sisters. Also dog I'm going to keep it real with ya if i'm playing sisters i'm playing repentia.

A sista tier list lets gooo!

For the same reason the warsuits are good with tank shock the Pengines and to a lesser extent the mortifiers are too. They have a S 10 weapon which allows you to almost guarentee the most amount of mortals and in most cases you will get the extra dice when you tank shock as well, all in 60 points per model instead of 80. And the Pengine has a 2d6 strength 5 flamer. It has 0 ap but thats a decent 8d6 torrent in a squad of 2 on overwatch which is deceptively good.

Just wondering if you’re gonna do this for the new Kodak when that comes out because I’m just getting into the faction and I definitely would love your input thanks

Being likely to land a 9 inch charge with a reroll is not necessarily true. The odds of succeeding is 47.8%, so almost a 50/50. If we're willing to spend a command point to get a third attempt the odds go up to 62.3% for the whole chain, but every attempt in isolation is 27.8% chance. If we're willing to spend a 6 miracle die as well the odds go up to 82.6% for the whole chain or 75.9% if we skip the command point. So I think landing a 9 inch charge with rerolls isn't too unlikely, but making it likely relies on using some more resources

It's interesting to see Noviciates be no tier when there are other videos on the channel showing how they can be a good unit in competitive list

I went from dismissing them as less good than Sisters to actually using them in games to try it - playtesting is really important!

The assassins have been working for me. I deploy three teams of two first to help reveal my opponents deployment. Usually hidden in terrain so they may be forgotten for some effective counter chargers. Also around the edges to deny deep strike and infiltrator's. They won me a game recently by clearing an objective near the end of the game.

Only sacrosancts would have gone on tier A for me. I see them as beeing tanky with our hospitaller (even without resurecting them 😥...) : 3+/4++/5+fnp is good ! Or, with Astread, they could be quite a nice pressure unit for your enemy army ! 2 potential MW (with masses) per model is nice when it is almost our only source of MW. What is your vision on that ?

I think Sacresants work better as a combat attack unit than as a tough holding unit. I would put Astread with them or a combat Palatine but use them in the same way as repentia (hide and counter charge)

What irks me especially with the Repentia Squad is that not only are the Arco Flagellants almost exusively better, but nothing can lead a squad of repentia while Flagellants get two leader options that buff them.

I would much rather personally run Repentia since they are still sisters, while Flagellants aren't, yet I can't justify running Repentia to myself.

Now, with the point reduction, do you think some units can be higher in the tier list? Especially the retributors and the repentia?

I did revaluate the repentia: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hnqElLduobmdpNo.htmlsi=Izrf15JsSbKNNG1D but I think retributers are still very poor. Best choice with them is coming out an immolator. I still don't recommend them

I am new to the game and the whole what weapons to add or don’t add. What weapons I cna or can’t use. Its frustrating

Also have to respectfully disagree on hospitallers. A 4++ works well vs a lot of higher ap weapons. But the 5+++ fnp is almost worthless vs multi damage weapons. Imagifier also hold Litanies of faith.

Not a big fan of Exorcist, that Damage 1 and 0 AP small missile is arguably useless in 10th where most things got a Toughness boost for no reason. The fat missile is nice but the random damage is too much randomness in a game that's already ridden with randomness. I still love running multiple Castigators with at most just one Exorcist for pure annoyance. Castigator with auto cannon is great for contesting objective, fully utilizing that Tank Shock stratagem, 8 shots 3 damage reroll everything plus moral test is just our version of a knockoff cheaper "Primaris Dreadnought".

junith is just a auto include becuase of the one extra cp every round...we have her not for the fly effekt

Even in 4th edition exorcists rocked! Except they were metal. And horrible to assemble and paint. Hmm.

I have that model, letting the pipes come on and off does make it easy to let it become an immolator but to assemble - I hate any of the metal models that aren't monopose

Hi there! totally new to WH40K and decided to start with Sisters I picked up a Combat Patrol and checking eBay to maybe pick up some loose pieces to fill out some squads. Looking at Arco-Flagellents I see something called and Endurant but I have no idea what that is nor do I see them in this list of yours. Any help please?

Hi! An endurant was previously an upgrade for an arco-flagellant to make then extra durable, sort of like a sergeant or weapon upgrade. It doesn't exist in 10th edition, an endurant is now just another arco-flagellant

"Play a sister of battle army with no battle sisters in it" - This is the Chaos Space Marine problem of 6th and 7th ed, you had no CSM in your CSM so it was really just "Angry Renegades + Daemons" Lists I've heard similar things for later editions too, but my CSM's are resigned to 30K only now. Thanks for the video, Question - Can you make squad sizes bigger like the Paragon Suits (so a unit of 6?)

Thanks. In 10th edition it is rare to have chaos marines. There are Chosen that are better and cultists of various kinds to do grunt work. That is how I have run my chaos marine army since 6th edition also. You can't make a unit of 6 warsuits, they are capped at 6. The points document lists the sizes allowed and warsuits have only a points cost for 3

Let's be real. You take one Paragon unit. You dont take the second. You also missed the Palantine with the Blade of St Ellynor. That Palantine murders everything

currently all rules are the same for all the orders. In simple terms, Bloody Rose should take combat units, Argent Shroud should have a transport focus, Valorous Heart should have tough sisters - so a hospitaller in each squad. Wait, how can you make a moge after shooting if you deep strike? Doesn't deep strike mean that unit cannot make a move and shoot then move counts as a move?

Is this on the seraphim? They have a unit ability. Normally you can't move after deep striking because the part of the phase where you move is over, deep striking doesn't stop you from making any kinds of move in your turn.

it has the same base pieces but one different upgrade sprue for the different turrets (exorcist or immolator) As a box, they are different kits

Quality tier list with a healthy dose of hot takes! You're correct in that I greatly disagree with Cassie's rating- specifically autocannons. Autocannons are 8 shots at 24" with twin linked which is enough to wound any toughness - it's one of the best damage profiles in our index. On top of the 9 heavy bolter shots it comes with. With the free storm bolter Cassie is shooting 20+ times each turn. x2 autocannon cassies are auto include for me and are MVPs every game. My front line is Vahl+Paragons and a bunch of single unit walkers which always draw more attention than my backline damage dealers of x2 Cassie and 1-2 exorcists.

It's a trick question. The answer is knights. You should take just knights.

Today I learned that crusaders are eligible to shoot. Huh. I largely agree with your list but I think you underestimate the potential of some units. Morvenn Vahl and her gang as well as the Dialogus in combination with Saint Katherine are absolutely bonkers. Making Vahl almost immune to damage because you can use all your 4+ to autopass saves, converting all your 1s-3s to 6s makes the BSS a pseudo Retributor Squad with auto hits and wounds. Imagine having a BSS with Dialogus + Palatine and just auto wounding everything with your Multi-Melta for only 2 lousy Miracle Dice while overwatching. Saint Katherine is an excelent force multiplier and I cannot imagine playing without her. The Castigator is good also. He deals flat damage without consuming your MD. Also Dominions suck ass. Sorry not sorry.
