The A1 mini is $200 right now. It can print any part you’d need for a drone and 80% of whatever you’d need for other projects. It’s an absolute hell of a deal.

@@heroflyinglol. To be dair though for fpv explicitly, you dont need big parts so the a1 mini would make more sense money wise

@@KcCake Yea the A1 mini is all you need and it was on sale for 200$. I have a x1c and a1 mini and I don't even use the x1c for drone parts. a1 mini is fire with tpu.

@@BeautyBeastRC yup! Smaller printers also have efficiency benefits of not having to heat a bigger bed, smaller components to replace, etc

@@KcCake honestly I would disagree and say if you have the money for an a1 get it over the a1 mini only because if it’s your first printer you don’t know if you may want to print things for non-FPV use, and generally speaking most people do. Probably the a1 mini would still be fine but it would suck if you wanted to print something that wouldn’t fit in the build volume. The A1’s bed also gets hotter potentially allowing for higher temp filament use like nylon and ASA especially with a make shift enclosure. As far as cheaper parts and power efficiency, I doubt there’s much of any difference between part prices, and the power efficiency is probably negligible.

No argument with the Bambu, excellent choice. However, if you're so inclined, you could also get a Voron V0 kit within that budget and build your own.

but building a Voron would take you an entire day, longer if you've never built a 3d printer before. Let alone gathering all the parts first. The cheapest Voron V0 kits all have slight QC issues you would want to upgrade in the near future anyways, making them more expensive. I wouldn't say a Voron V0 is a worthy comparison to the plug and play of a Bambu.

@@toon6476 It depend do you like tinkering or do you seek a plug and play. Voron opens a whole new hobby for you to upgrade the printer for your needs. You want to print ASA or ABS, just add a chamber heater and call it a day. You want to print faster, well that's a whole new topic, but it's all open source and there is plenty who share their ideas.

I bought the $400 A1 after seeing the video where you recommended the A1 Mini for $250. The prompt was "what are your settings and tips for TPU?" and you said something like "I don't have any! I use the defaults on my X1C and it comes out perfect every time!" and that absolutely hooked me for Bambu. I hadn't even considered Bambu before then because the only ones I had seen were $1000 or more. I'm really happy with the A1 for PETG and PLA, but I've actually been going back to my Ender 3 for TPU because the stuff I've printed on the A1 hasn't come out the best (this is with Sainsmart TPU, not the official Bambu stuff). I'm sure I'll get it there, though. Really impressive machine. It's so fast on PLA that it looks like it's malfunctioning, but isn't.

Controversial opinion Ender 3 V3 SE… it’s cheap and actually works unlike most of the Enders But if you can get the Bambu A1 mini for the same price do that
