I got the Avata 2, because I wanted an FPV drone, and they're cheap, but I didn't own goggles or a controller. I had other DJI drones, though. So, I got the Avata 2 and FPV controller, so all my stuff will be intercompatible for now, I get a jack of all trades FPV, and now I have googles and controller foe when either, A, o3 compatibility, or B, o4 Air unit. I didn't wanna buy an older goggles, since o3 air units have already been out for a while, and then I'd have an old setup. So, I prepared early for o4. I just find the o3 units lacking. Mainly in terms of camera quality, and I don't wanna use an additional mounted action cam, to reduce weight.

I would just fly whats around now, getting in the air is more important.

I’m wanting this to happen. I love the fit of the Goggles 3 vs any other DJI goggles. However, I’m dying to get a drone that can handle a crash. I’ve had a few light crashes with my Avata 2 and already had to send it in to DJI and use one of my Care Refresh replacements for a slight bend in one of the arms. I just bought a set of Integras so I can then buy a drone that will be more repairable. Screw it…it’s just money…lol

G2 is cheap at the moment given the G3 isn’t a huge upgrade AND depending on where you live, you might miss the good weather waiting… I would get out there now

The only reason I would like to have the new system is for the range improvements. But how much better it will really be?

Don't wait. Only wait if you are using the O4 in a long-range drone and want to go near the 20km range the O4 promises. If it's not for long-range then buy the O3 and enjoy the rest of the summer.

I got the v2. Ill get the g3 once i can use them with my o3 air units

I tested the g3, but still like the v2 more. Way bigger FOV.

I failed today. My buddy ahmad needed money and offered his Goggles v2 for 16000 php, which is about 275 dollars. So now I have my avata 2, the goggles 3 and the goggles v2. I had already bought an 03 air unit before the avata 2 came out. My first use will be to put it on one of my rc cars or boats, but need to wait for some FC I ordered. I really hate that you need a FC to arm the 03 air unit ... but ah well the extra fuctionality you get out of a FC is always usefull.

Honestly, I'm not really waiting for an O4 launch to upgrade, as the image quality difference is not that significant for a pilot DVR. I'm really waiting for the likely drop in O3 prices, which have been quite a steep component cost in the average 5" build.

just get the goggle 2 or integra maybe even a used pair. I doubt there will be much improvement flying o3 with g3

It's not that the 04 is so much better then the 03, it's that the g3 are so much better than the g2 and as long as you don't intend to fly analog with the v2, the most logical upgrade from the v2. The 2 really sucked. But the 3 is what the 2 was suppose to be. Now the goggles 4, all that needs to be is just g3 but with analog support build right in from the getgo.

If you want 03 support, just start shilling the avata 2 to everybody. the faster they sell their entire stock the faster they will probably move on to the next product to sell. Which should be the 04 air unit.

What if you outfly the AVATA2 within the 4 months. You have the G3, and RC3. Would you buy the O3 air unit for 5 inch? or wait on the O4

Buy O3, just get in the air. You're going to forget about the video quality when you're flying anyway, especially when you're still learning. Your focus should be on increasing your piloting skills, not how pretty the video in your goggles are

People don't want "outdated" technology. And people are gambling backwards compatibility will be released or the O4 air unit will be released before a ban.

Outfly? 🤔 Its a cinewhoop. How would you outfly it unless you're flying it in a way it wasn't designed for. 🤷 I have the Avata 2 and diy quads. I use them for different purposes.

I don't care for the backwards compatibility with the Goggles 2 and the Vista units. The range & penetration is drastically less than it is with the V2 goggles. The range & penetration is better with the Goggles 2 & the o3 Air Unit, but I couldn't say if it's any better than the Vista with the V2 goggles. I'd worry that the Goggles 3 will be backwards compatible, but they'll make it so the range & penetration isn't so great with the o3 because they really want you to buy all new air units. I bought the Goggles 2 & planned to sell my V2 goggles, but now that I see the Goggles 2 have crappy performance with the Vistas, I think I may keep the V2 Goggles & just use them with all my Vista units. The o3 camera sucks anyway. It's freaking horrible in low light & it's dynamic range is so slow, it reminds me of an old dialup modem.

I don't think the G3s are worth the wait. Its not enough of an upgrade from the G2s especially with the price gap atm

DJI was banned so who’s to say the new stuff will even be available in this country

Not with the US ban, the US is by far it's the biggest market. I don't know the percentages but might be like almost half or so. So if the US ban makes them sell less, which I think is already happening ... it might take much longer for their avata 2 stock to run out.

Damn, already replace my V2 Goggles with Goggles 3. And nightmare comes, have to wait another months or a year,,, LoL

Im lucky I didn't sell my V2s when I ordered the G3's. Pisses me off that they didn't come stock with backwards compatibility. I actually thinking of moving to Caddx just because I am sick of DJI and their ridiculous shenanigans

Or... Don't use DJI... Why? I have the original FPV with the goggles v2 and the controller 2. It's unreliable like most people report on the internet. DJI knows this. But they won't care enough to fix it. DJI doesn't care about us. And that makes sense because they sell 10k to 50k drones

Dji is irrelevant now. You've realistically got 6 years to find a new brand.
