Then, a home accident changed my life. Worked through consequences for many years but as age caught up, the pain has really taken over. The way you worded it is so perfect..."out of pain so that the inner me could live a full life" is perfect! Family is everything to me. That was the main reason I left a very good career to come back. My daughter told me that she didn’t like who I was becoming. I could tell my absence was killing my family.

I’m trying to figure out how to be a retired person. I’m a born and raised Texan, but I’ve lived the last 20 years working in Birmingham, Alabama. After I retired, I moved back to Texas to be closer to family. With the help of some wonderful doctors, I was able to finally figure out some health issues. Now I’m trying to get strong again. Every morning I believe I have a choice to make, and I think it’s important for me to choose to bring some light to someone else. Seeing Brooke and Jason provide so much kindness and joy to so many people, has inspired me to be better everyday. I suspect you are going to be a strong positive influence too!❤ #belikeCHF

I thank Jesus even when things are uncertain. Because I know that he’s still with me. I do my best not to ask “why aren’t things working out as I want them to?” I’ve learned that I will understand why things happened when Jesus wants me to. I have cerebral palsy and I remember asking Jesus “Why can’t I be like my siblings and friends?” I worked so hard to be independent and I overcame so many obstacles. Now that I’m older, I thank him for blessing me with so much determination and strength. I know that I wouldn’t have graduated with a bachelor degree in social work and I probably wouldn’t have gotten married and have such a beautiful daughter. Everything happens for a reason. I know that he’s with me even when I’m feeling lost and alone.
