Deer take sound as an opportunity to stop and Litsen to really see if there’s a predator, also to blend in if they think they haven’t been seen yet. It also makes them stop which if you call it when they broadside it makes a super easy shot. Just make sure you actually know where to aim.

What? Definitely not, any real hunter would know not to take those shots, unless the animal is 45 quartered in or out with a forward shoulder prior to the hammer drop (so you don’t destroy the front shoulder roast). That’s the way my dad thought me and the way I teach my children anyway. To the poster: good discipline, patience, and shot placement. 🍻 cheers.

He was an ethical hunter who did the right thing and waited for a good broadside so he didn't have to risk a wound or a gut shot.

Any real hunter knows that if you don't have a clean shot you don't shoot. There's nothing worse than taking an animals life just so it can rot in a briar patch, or getting shit all over half the carcass because you gut shot it.

@Kevin Felton Being slower than your last test in 3rd grade spelling he still made a kill shot doesn't make it more or less ethical.
