Her overview is spot on. If you are feeling the vibe of how she presents living in DC--and how you are looking to live here, you have hit the right channel. Now, if you want to live in DC and not break the bank: move to Petworth, DC neighborhood or Brightwood Park, DC--and open yourself up to roommates! (You will enjoy alll of the things she talks about, but will not break your bank. I find that it's mostly southern transplants who don't understand roommates...but that's another post). She is spot on for her audience!! Great vid.

What is so popular about DC? Please tell me. There is absolutely nothing to do or see after the mall walk and museums. Literally overrated. Boring.

@truebetold65 theater, musicals, punk shows, bluegrass jams, beer & cider tasting, 7-course Chef's tasting dinners, DJ brunches, author talks, Shakespeare in the Park, Mixology classes, candle and soap making...etc, etc. LOLOL "mall walking and museums"--those are tourist activities or Sat AM with the kids. The interesting things to do in a city are never going to be in the tourist areas. C'mon, you know that.

I was raised in DC. If you don't mind the high cost of housing and traffic, chose DC if not, the suburbs might be a better choice. No matter what you choice, If you are in the DMV you will have the best of everything because it's easy to find something to do as well as it's easy to get around by metro.

I was a 19 year old in D.C in 1980 my first apt. was in Alexandia VA with two roomates because when I started at the FBI we only made $10500 a year and you could not live alone 😂 Now I live in Maryland side a little cheaper than Virginia and I am retired from government. When I came here no relatives I am from Philly that was one hour half away not to bad use to catch that Amtrak home on weekends. 😂 I built a life here got married had two kids now retired in a nice home in Matyland suburbs. Life takes you places you just got to be willing to go. The best thing about FBI they helped us with housing they had a spot where we can get roommates I got mind the first day on the job stayed at this hotel down the street on New York ave one night. Then I moved to Alexandia Va got the bus to the Pentagon got on the subway to Metro Station and went to work at 10th and Penn at 19 years old I had a career job with the government. Young people take chances😊

I'm in Noma, construction starts at 7am 6 days a week and sometimes goes until midnight. If you wanna sleep in you better have ear plugs. But the amount of buildings going up and being planned is insane. Pretty much every empty lot has a huge project coming, but if you like transit oriented dense development and the perks/amenities it comes with, it's pretty nice.

Renovated, 3.5 bathrooms, with Great schools scores above 5, on a quarter acre, within 16 miles of the White House. If you see it, don't think about it. Just Buy whatever's on the market with lowest price and meets this filter. You won't regret it.
