One of the highlights of mine and my kids' lives was being in this video with Matt. I was in the middle of a contentious divorce and we needed to do something fun, so we drove from Indianapolis to Detroit but got delayed by a flat on the way. We literally watched the Detroit dance as we ran toward them from about 100 yards away. Matt was gracious enough to dance with my son afterward. We drove home, then went to Cleveland the next day and made it into the video! Yes, we did almost twenty hours of driving in a 24 hour period but to this day we all agree that it was worth it.
I think the world needs Matt once again, more than ever.

Literally, every time I come back, I remember that for all the things that divide us, we’re all still human and all longing for connection to one another. I only hope we someday realize that we’re more alike than we are different.
It's 2024 and this is still as fresh and uplifting as it was when it was uploaded over eleven years ago.
Where are you, Matt? The world needs you now... more than ever.
Matt, you won the internet forever. Still the most positive video I have ever seen.
I'm here again🎶💕 The beautiful singer died of leukemia in her 20s. I watch this when the world is in turmoil and believe in love & peace. Life is precious💐Thank you so much for a beautiful video🙏💕🎶
To this day, it remains the best thing on KZread. It speaks to who we all are. Matt showed us all in five simple minutes. I keep coming back to it. It is as brilliant as ever.
My middle school teacher showed me this in 2012. I still watch it from time to time. A reminder of how nice things were. And how nice they can be again

I can't help but to think about how some of the countries in this vid have changed.. Still, whenever I watch Matt, I see the good of people. Their ability to connect to each other and respect each other. Screw our so called world leaders who only excel in enriching themselves or their ego's. Never forget, our elected leaders serve US, not the other way around. People RULE
Having a rough day, so you decided to come back here to remember the world is pretty great? Yeah, me too.

I loved seeing how many recent comments have been made for a ten year old video, Matt continues to bring joy and happiness with all of his previous videos as well.
I had the opportunity to dance in this video 10 years ago and the memory still makes me smile. I'm the crazy woman in the chicken hat in New Orleans. It was so hot, I remember drinking two full bottles of water afterwards without stopping. But it was worth every bit of sweat. It was so uplifting, like a celebration of everything good in all of us. We felt instantly connected to everyone else in the video and I dream that we will learn ways to feel like that, even when we aren't dancing.

I completely agree, less warring honestly. People pay less attention to peace and more attention to power these days. Not everyone of course, but I don't think I'm wrong based the fact that there's war right now-
All of humanity dancing together in joy, despite our differences in culture, country, race.. we come together in unity, love and respect for one another. Focusing on what unites us instead of what divides us. A federated world walking towards the future hand in hand, is the only path forward 💙
I miss these videos. It was so heart warming to see people all across the globe smiling, dancing, having a good time...we need more 'Where the hell is Matt' types, and less of the global elite types. We humans are so similar, yet our 'leaders' tear us apart.

We need you again Matt. No more than ever.
watched this for the first time when i was in year 4 (3rd grade), and it made me cry. came back to this video 9 years later, and still fills my eyes. i love this video so much
The reason this video is so sentimental is because deep down all of us recognize it as the ULTIMATE truth - We are all ONE. If we ever send a space probe off into space for aliens to find, we should include this video on the space probe.
There are very few things that make me tear up, but this is one of them. It honestly gives me hope in the future when it seems like everything is falling apart.
No matter how many times I watch this, I always laugh and cry. It's a amazing achievement for everyone involved. So joyful.
One of the most wholesome videos ever made and still enjoyable.

Before I retired as a department supervisor in 2015, I invited the 8 employees that I managed to my office almost every Monday morning to watch this on my computer, with the sound turned way up. There was something with this video that elevated the mood of everyone to begin the week as we partied with coffee & donuts around the screen. I haven't watched it since I left... until now, 7 years later. Oh the fond memories this great video brings back to me! Thank you Matt.

Whatever ppl say, this guy deserved Peace Nobel Price, all countries confunded... .
I am rewatching this video because I saw your behind-the-scenes videos you did recently. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for having done this piece of art! I took part in the Dresden, Germany segment of this video and am just now bawling my eyes out because it reminds me of the beauty of it all. About the connected-ness of all people, about the good in the world, cherishing a moment and so much more. Thank you! Thank you for letting me be part if something big, for filling people's hearts with joy and for evoking emotions that are so pure right now, I don't even know what to do with them other than to just let them flow through me. After the video in 2012 I took a trip around some of the world for 14months as well (it was my plan for many years)...and I saw it with my own eyes - the beauty. I am not a people person, but I connected with total strangers (aborigines, homeless people, a mother with her son, other travellers of course, a native child who caught me a coconut from a tree...) in all kinds of situations (on the bus/train, sitting on the street because there was a wifi spot, in the kitchen of a guesthouse...) and they were always kind, loving and curious. What I'm trying to say is: if you are open/curious about the world, the world will open up to you and show you its beauty. Yes, there are also terrible things still out there and nobody should belittle them, but at the same time there IS also very good stuff out there!
I cry everytime. Unbelievable.
Where are you mate, we need you!
I cry every time I watch it. It makes me feel happy, but so sad that Alicia Lemke, the singer died so young.
