Where the Crawdads Sing REACTION; what an intricate plot!

I enjoyed this movie so so much!! I did read the book at the start of this year, so I did know what to expect story wise going into this, however, I did not expect to get swept up into the story nearly as much as I did. Daisy did such a phenomenal job as Kya and made me fall head over heels for her as a character, which I didn't feel as much reading the book. chase sucks. I loved getting to see the court element as well in the film. ugh, SO GOOD! 🩶

Thank you, but wasn't the movie over two hours? So she did push him that day? I confused about her the sequence , she fought him off from assaulting her, so why was she back on the tower with him? I may need to buy this DVD.

this is a movie on Netflix! unfortunately, I have to cut the majority of it out due to copyright which is why there are moments that affect the storyline cut out! but basically, she lured him to the top of the tower so that she could do it as she didn't want to constantly live in fear of him seeking her out to hurt her! 🩶

@@ryannrodkey5669 thank you. So he was attacking her. I thought when she best him and told him she'd kill him, that was that. I guess I won't buy it. That pins and needles feeling especially R word, would make me angry. They say it's fiction, but I think it happened especially in what's known as the dirty South. What I didn't understand is why the man named Tate didn't meet her at the beach. Thank you!🙏🏾

Spoilers!!!!! .......... ........... I'm glad it wasn't Tate. It would've been an obvious plot. I haven't read the book. I could understand Jumpin' trying to help her, but him being a black man from the south in the 1960's, he would have been found guilty just for his skin color alone. I thought Chase had just fallen. The film suggested that the metal crates were not mounted (loosen). So truly, I thought he didn't look very carefully at metal crates and tripped and fell over. To my surprise, it was her. I'm happy she fought back. I'm saddened she got tainted. He was a menace, though. He would have kept coming back to bother her and maybe even kill her if he got drunk like her father. Overall, I really liked the film except the sexual assault part. Anytime that's in a film, it just upsets me that many women have gone through that. I also hated that the attorney or lawyer (idk who he was) called Jumpin' "boy." But, it was a common way to call (disrespectfully) a Black person in the south. I really liked your reaction 😊 sorry for the long comment 😅

oh wow!! I had no idea that 'boy' was used in that way!! thank you for letting me know! and I'm so glad you enjoyed watching with me! I do agree that Tate would be an obvious choice for sure. I was happy that she fought back and was choosing to not live in fear anymore as well! I just wish she didn't have to do that, but then we wouldn't have had a story 🤣 overall, a wonderful movie! 🩶
