Gettin ' old ain't for sissies, Larry. I understand that, too. I'm glad you finally listened to the docs and did what needed to be done. Sorry you had to go through all of that but so glad you came out the other side. Sounds like you still have a great attitude and there's no doubt in my mind you'll be back and strong as ever. Best wishes for a continued, speedy recovery! Phil

Thanks, Phil, I had my spine ablation Wednesday and it seemed to have worked. I have little if any lower back pain. I am in the shop as I type this. I am still going to slow down, being 80 makes one do that. Take care, Larry

I'm new ( again ) to wood turning, last I did was in the 60's in high school wood shop class. I'm new to your channel. I sure get a lot out of your videos. You remind me so much of the influential men in my life when I was youngster, a good man. I wish you the best in health and the quickest and most complete recovery ever.

Glad you are back and pray all goes well. Look forward to seeing some turnings, have not been turning myself, 3 months early retirement. Wore my arm out with tendonitis and some days just doesn't work out. Thank God can run my CNC and Laser, one armed. Johnnys Prop Shop hopefully will make up income. Be well, I did call my Mama.

Yep, some kind of man law not to go to a Dr. until you absolutely have to. I didn't until I couldn't walk to my mailbox and back without running out of breath and hurting. Tripple by-pass helped. lol Thanks for the update and you are looking good. We will wait and see you soon. By the way, same age. Cheers my friend, Lee

Sounds like me when it comes to going to the hospital. Lol 😂. Couple years ago tore a ligament in my knee completely in half and walked around for a week before the VA could get me in, only to find out I had torn that ligament. Lol 😂. Glad to see ya up and going again.

Wow Lary it's so good to hear you again I was really wondering if all was good with you, I know getting old is no fun, but my friend you have to listen to your good Lady and kids and stay safe for them and yourself. I'm sure watching you for a long time turning you will be back at that lathe but be careful and stay safe. Good buddy

I feel for you last year had a stroke at 53 and found out I had a hole in my heart that was not going closed. I would love turning and it was so relaxing for me. Now I started turning left handed I lost the feeling In my right hand and most of the arm. I am getting ready to go for surgery to fix hole in heart. My girlfriend asked why do you want to turn again? Before this happened I was stupid and turning to heavy of a piece of log and it broke loss and smashed my mouth and broke 3 teeth off. Well I learned from that and trying to get back to something I truly love and relaxing. Can’t wait to see more of your videos

Hey Grandpa Larry, You’re like an old Timex watch that takes a lickin’ and keeps on ticking’. Understand the heart problems and the fall. I’ve been there, bought the t-shirt and hat. Suggest taking life easy for a while longer. When ya get in the 70s, we’re no longer spring chickens and it takes a bit longer to bounce back. Leave the heavy lifting to someone else. Another fall could be more serious and screw up your back; then your problems will only begin to get worse. If you like those steroid shots in your shoulder, you’ll love them in your back. Living life with constant back pain is no way to live and Steroids will become your best friend; NOT. Don’t ask for problems and stay away from living life via modern chemistry. It’s no way to live. Trust me, you don’t want to go there.

Telling you to bounce back doesn't apply to falling like you did. The knee replacement isn't a whole bunch of fun either, I had mine 5 weeks ago. Be careful, they don't make spare parts for our year models.
