Any house North of the river in zone 2 is worth over 1 mil so to claim Hampstead is where millionaires live is very silly. Central London property is far more expensive than Hampstead as is neighbouring St Johns Wood

If you love cemeteries you really should do a tour of Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris and show the tombs of Simone Signoret, Edith Piaf, Maria Callas, Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilds...amongst others...

@@kevinjewell233 Pere Lachaise cemetery has many famous people, but nearby Highgate Cemetery (the old and the new) has a huge number of famous people buried there. The old part has been the setting for many horror films as well!

The Holly Bush. Dr. Samuel Johnson. I only have just begun reading on him and some of his writings. Man, that man had wisdom , insight and morality.

I was born over there many moons ago and moved to Australia when just a baby(£10 Pom they called us) I just fell in love with everywhere I went. My parents are also £10 poms and I have lived in Aust all my life but every chance I can I go to the UK, it’s so grounding and just feels like home. I visited friends in London a few years back and they lived in a lovely townhouse in Hampstead. I absolutely loved the feel of the area because it has a small town feel to it even though it's a short tube ride from central London. It's a good place for celebrity spotting as well.

I used to live in an apartment in London. I've always loved Hampstead, especially the Heath, it was my breath of fresh air. I visited the Heath at least once a week, enjoying a pint or two in Jack Straw's Castle and the Holly Bush among others. I love the Pergola, I remember when it was derelict, it's great to see it as it is now. I now live in beautiful County Kerry, Ireland. I miss my visits to Hampstead, I always go back there when I visit London. I love your videos!

We are glad we can take you back there virtually, Bob! Sinead did show Jack Straws Castle but there was construction in the background so the volume was a mess and we had to cut it :(

I owned a property in Hampstead for 19 years, about 20 years ago, a church, NOT the one shown in this video, sent out a letter to all properties in the area which was a demand for money based on the Council Tax one was paying!! Needless to say I and almost all residents were most offended and made absolutely no contribution to the church making the demand! It was never repeated.

First off, i haven't seen you in a while and YOU ARE STILL looking young. Secondly, all these tours you offer, especially eh out of the way tours, like cemetery walks or "alleys" or like the one today, these are the ones I am thinking of taking with some friends through your company. BUT WHAT I WANTED TO SAY, is there there is SO MUCH MORE to England, than the traditional, famous stops everybody comes to see in England. I want to meet the REAL BRITISH, the real culture and their real history of ordinary British people and some famous. The cemeteries and the beautiful gardens, the small shops even the expensive ones you take us on tours. I want to see the back-roads where MORE famous people lived, like authors and artists that WE HAVE FORGOTTEN about. THANK YOU....thank you for these tours. This was such a treat for me Sinead!. I'm from Dublin, living in Vancouver, but worked (Royal Free Hospital) and lived in Hampstead for 6 years in early 70s. So this was very much a lovely trip down memory lane. I'm looking forward to the next part, with Jack Straw's, one of the many pubs I frequented, along with the George, Sir Richard Steel's and the rest. Every weekend I would go for big walks around the neighbourhood, and I learned more from your walk today than the years I spent there ☘️❤

It was so nice to see this Sinead! My mum grew up in hampstead on a road called Burgess Hill and she used to take me often when I was young to see my grandad. He used to take me for walks around the neighbourhood where my favourite thing was running up the steps of all the beautiful georgian/victorian terraced houses

I go walking there very often. A lot I did not know, so thank you. If you go to the church St John-at-Hampstead be sure to visit Kay Kendall's grave over the road in the 'other' cemetery near the road railings. Kay was the wife of Rex Harrison and starred in the film Genevieve - a great film and died tragically quite young from cancer. She can play the plumpet. 😀 Be sure to say hello to Kay and also Peter Cook where his ashes were scattered nearby I believe.

Yes there’s a plaque on the ground for Peter Cook next to another for his wife Lin just a couple of paces away from Kay Kendall’s grave towards the fence. Also nearby the graves of Anton Walbrook who was in Victoria The Great with Anna Neagle and The Red Shoes, and close to the boundary that of broadcaster and actor Nicholas Parsons.

In comparison with other big cities London is generally very safe. The main worries are pickpockets and mobile phone snatchers. Stockholm currently has 30 times more violent crime than London for example.

As a proud Londoner I know that I should make time to see more of it

@@FreeToursbyFootLondon I remember watching a film that was set mainly on Hampstead Heath called 'Scenes of a Sexual Nature' (all talk, no sex!) and seeing the pergola. For years I though it was some hidden part of Kenwood House, until I discovered it was up near Golders Hill Park. It is a beautiful spot, no wonder it is used for many weddings.

Hi Sinead, I love your video. Not so much of a hidden Gem anymore but still hidden from most tourists. I think I discovered the Hill Garden and Pergola in 2018 or 2019. I always wanted to go to the West Heath, but I only made it to Hampstead Heath not the West Heath so I found it by accident. Boy was I amazed It was during the summer and it was a beautiful sunny day and I was almost by myself here. Mind you I came to this part of London in January 1982 to work for the first time a week before my 17 th birthday. I have been to London so many times over the years but I'll always love my part of London namely the NW Hampstead, Golders Green, Kilburn, West Hampstead, Queens Park, Swiss Cottage, St John's Wood that will always be my part of London and I keep coming back. I have also lived in LLanduno Wales, Portrush NI and in Edinburgh and I have travelled a lot in the UK as a tourist as well. I like your Irish accent and I think yo make some really nice videos. lots of love tina from Denmark
