Great round Gaz! Take it from me, concentrate on the golf, your health and fitness. Time will ease the getting over a breakup. I went from a 14 handicap to a 4 in one season and the golf gave me the distraction I required from the stress of a crappy relationship. Cheers and always got your back even when you're a bit cocky lol.

Sorry to hear about the break up, I've been going through a similar thing myself. Getting out on the golf course certainly helps clear the mind and gives the positive headspace. Just curious do you know what you've spent on lessons so far to get to the level you are now?

I think we played there on the same day. I played south on the Monday and when I was out for tea saw you hitting your tee shot on the 15th on snapchat 🤣

Tip for your aiming. Rorys tip actually.. instead of aiming at a target 200 yards away pick a target that's about 5 yards in front if the ball. So see where u want to aim 200 yards away then look for a spot just in front of u and trust it.

Try a 17 degree UW! I too struggle off the tee with 3 wood (can miss it off the planet) the uw for me is nearly as long and dispersion isnt even close in favour of the uw

You clearly love Aim Point, clearly it works for those Pros that use it, I investigated and had a lesson, i didn’t feel it improved my green reading. For me pace is so important, if you get that right, your misses are closer and 3 putts are history. Aim point might be better on enormous greens, where on long putts you have a multitude of breaks. For long putts, I separate into 10 ft segments not dissimilar to AIM point, but i rely on my eyes for the reading, obviously looking at the overall surroundings that influence slopes. The most important thing is confidence, believe your line and commit, good strike and pace will get you most of the way to lowering scores, if you get the line right 70% of the time, you are the dogs.

your putts and chips generally miss low! if its low its not got a chance to drop like at 29:15. aim high and youll see that you get 3/4 drop in. scratch by August easy.

Love both courses at Quinta de Lago, play well and enjoy. 20 years ago, rocked up with my wife, and we were placed with two from Royal Liverpool. The Husband said “how much are we playing for” my wife responded, “we are on holiday”. Well he said, we always play for money, name it. I was fed up by this, as was his wife, i said, okay trappy, here are our handicap certs, where are yours, he came up with society certs, not from Royal Liverpool, no worldwide handicaps then. I accepted and said, i have 1000 euro in my pocket, show me yours and you are on. He went very sheepish, and said i was thinking of 20 a corner, to which i responded, that’s not a bet, it’s a drink. We played and i was level gross on the 15th par 3 and three up, i dumped it in the pond, he laughed and hit the green, we get to the ladies and my wife hits the flag, 2 inches, he misses his putt to which his wife laughed, my wife holed to win. He stormed off, we finished the round with his wife, bought her lunch and left for the hotel in fits😂😂😂 big mouth no testicular fortitude

not being funny mate and always keep it as a goal, but being a scratch golfer isnt something that can be obtained by many you just dont have the consistancy i dont think, thats not to say i dont hope you do, sorry about the break up it happens to most people once you will work it out, the kids etc oh and im off 14 so dont take it as a proffesionals opinion ❤

Don't think you can ask too much more than that mate, it's not like you played badly and shot 2 over, on another day you could have easily been 4 under, just need a day when those puts drop pal, keep cracking on, look forward to the summer if we ever chuffing get one

I’ve looked into a Day with Dan Grieves, would you say it’s 100% worth the money? If things had dropped that could have been 5/6 shots better 🫣
