What a great guy! I remember seeing him walk down the street one morning and I got the chance to talk to him! Other folks saw him and came over, we became 5 year olds again! He was as kind as you would imagine. And I was behind Mrs Rogers in the grocery line and told her that story. She smiled and said "that's my Fred." I cried. What memories. Thanks so much Jordan! 💝

I remember when he had Margaret Hamilton (the Wicked Witch of the West from Wizard of Oz) on. She came on as herself but then Mr Rogers had her put the hat on to show that it was just a costume. This was to show that it was a costume and that you shouldn’t be afraid of her. Margaret was a schoolteacher in real life.

Margaret Hamilton received serious burns while filming "Wizard of Oz" in the flaming cauldron scene. She refused any Financial retaliation against her producer. She Feared She might be black balled in any future films.

I remember that one! It was great that Mister Rogers showed kids that her "witchiness" was not who she really was but just an acting role - make-believe.🧙‍♀️ I read that, in reality, Margaret Hamilton was a kind, soft-spoken lady who loved animals.

Mister Rogers took you away from whatever problems were going on. I wish we had someone like Fred Rogers now. I wonder where the Neighborhood trolley is? He always took us somewhere special. Thank you so much Jordan for bringing back a little of what was good in life. Thank you for bringing Jah along. Always nice to see him. You both stay safe and take care.

Jordan this makes me so happy! I live about 50 mins away from Pittsburgh, and I love the city so much. You can’t love Pittsburgh without loving Fred Rodgers! I remember many afternoons when I was young watching Sesame Street and the Mr. Rodgers on PBS! Fred taught us kindness and humanity for people and things, even though we may look or sound different. Above all, Mr. Rodgers taught us that with our imagination anything is possible! Sorry for my ramblings 😊❤️

Thank you so much for honoring this very special and gifted educator and humanitarian. Despite all his quirky and endearing eccentricities, Fred Rogers was WAY ahead of his time. My degrees are in early childhood education and psychology. Fred Rogers made a difference in children's lives. Too often, he was the only positive light, comfort and inspiration to children who only knew neglect and abuse. Fred Rogers once famously said, "Always look for the helpers!" Fred Rogers was one of the greatest helpers of all. His light of compassion, empathy and kindness will shine forever.

I can remember watching Mr. Roger's when I was a child. I was 5 years old in 1975 and my kindergarten teacher would have us watch it in class as well. We would eat lunch, have recess, and then watch. She always turned it into a lesson. It was wonderful to have my son and my step children watch it as they grew up as well. When he passed the world lost a true friend to the children of the world.

Until today, I think my favorite VLOG has been the Groundhog Day one. But, Mr. Rogers?! Be still my heart! I’m afraid my inner 4 year old is older than yours, but the opening theme song, Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, still thrills me. And today, I considered how the closing song, It’s Such a Good Feeling, still evokes such feelings of melancholy because of the “goodbye.” Thanks for the VLOG, Jordan. And my inner 4 year old really wants a trolley!!!!

Jordan, this will blow your mind! In the early 90's I worked at the Children's Museum in the North Side before the History Center was built. I was a tour guide and got to stand IN The Land and tell the kids about it. I met him a few times when I was a kid. I haven't lived in Pittsburgh for 16 years so its nice to see it. I can't believe you'd never been there before! Thanks man. Also Don Brockket is in Flecth! While I don't miss living there it's still good to see it. Just seeing the Fort Pitt Tunnels and the bridges gave me massive flashbacks! I'm glad you finally got there! There's no way I can ever fully get away from the Burgh due to every restaurant in the country having Heinz Ketchup!

Thanks for the trip Jordan! It was great! I went there 2 years ago, but I didn't see the clothing exhibit so that was new to me. There are a few more stops on the "Mister Rogers Experience Tour" as I call it that maybe you can hit next time. In Pittsburgh, The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh has some more of his puppets, and you can also visit the outside of WQED where he taped the show. In his hometown of Latrobe, PA (about an hour away) there is a really nice statue of him, his childhood home, his childhood church, his grave and St. Vincent's College where you will find not only the Trolley, but Daniel's Clock, 6 more puppets, 4 sweaters, a pair of sneakers, and much, much more. Thanks again!

When I was a kid back around 87ish, I was with my parents at a flea market in SWPA. It was a busy day and I can remember shuffling through the crowd. I bumped into a guy and looked way up to see his face and it was Chef Brocket! From TV! I just stood there slack jawed with a look of awe at seeing my 1st celebrity. He noticed me recognize him, smiled at me, and continued on. I imagine he got that a lot. I never said anything to him nor he to me, but we shared a tiny moment in time that day that I will always remember and cherish because of the randomness of it.

Thank you for posting this video! It brings back so many memories of my childhood from visiting Latrobe PA where both him and my grandmother grew up to watching him on TV every day after school.

He was one of a kind..there hasn't been anyone like him since. I saw that meeting with the senator & Mr. Rodgers was impressive. I was surprised Tom Hanks was related to him (6th cousin).

Wow just wow! Jordan thank YOU especially for this vlog!! It so refreshing to go back in time…to a time that was much kinder and nicer than it is presently a time in my childhood many many moons ago, where kindness, hope and love for everyone existed in abundance (in Mr. Roger’s Neighbor ). Indeed the show was a ministry and I’m sure others like myself our lives have been greatly enriched because of it. This is definitely one destination(among many others you’ve vlogged🙂) that I’ll definitely be visiting!! I’m subscribed & watch all your vlogs although I don’t comment much…I love ❤️ them ALL!!🤗 I thank you Jordan so VERY much for what you do!! (And Jah too!!🥰). #itsabeautifuldayintheneighborhood #speedydelivery #wontyoubemyneighbor🙂

When I was growing up in the 70's, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood was one of my go to shows along with Zoom. He was such an authentic human being and taught me so much. I always enjoyed watching Picture Picture and when he would visit parts of the neighborhood. And by the way, when you showed the street sign for William Penn, I immediately thought of the 60's group William Penn IV from San Carlos, CA who released only one single-"Swami" back in November of 1966. I had no idea that William Penn was a real person I just thought it was a name of a band.
