This is actually a really good summary of the whole saga up to this point. The only thing missing is that he did a little more than normal horny-posting: He posted pics of himself as well. Like, it's one thing to maybe, after a failed suicide attempt, be in a weird state of mind and go to your horny alt as some kind of escapism, but it's a whole other thing to take your phone camera to your nether region and post the result publicly while everyone thinks you're dead. That's just kind of where my ability to wrap my head or heart around the situation stops entirely.

I think you've miscovered this, specifically the part about why people were using this to attack Hbomberguy. 1. You have no evidence that people didn't care about Somerton when they took the moment to point attention to Hbomb. And, while I agree that a lot of people probably didn't care, I think if we're making this criticism, I'd say that the same may be mounted against Hbomb's own community who - and this is coming from having spent quite a lot of time when this happened - not only did not show basically any sympathy for Somerton (some went as far as to immediately start talking about how the criticisms of him shouldn't be forgotten in light of a possible recent suicide) but also expressly expressed hopes that Hbomberguy would be ok instead. 2. The weaker criticism to make is that Hbomb is responsible for someone killing themselves, and I doubt anyone seriously believed this, the more salient critiques people made were that Hbomberguy himself has often said that people are responsible for their audiences. The idea being that, if it were true, not that it was, that Hbomb's community bullied Somerton to a point that he committed suicide, would Hbomb be consistent and hold himself accountable for that? It is precisely the fact that the majority of people did not believe this that made them point out the flaw in logic. 3. You didn't mention the constant harassment Hbomb sent towards Somerton. Even until days before the incident, Hbomb was tweeting about Somerton, constantly mocking him and indicating to his community that he hadn't changed. The most recent tweet he'd made before it happened was literally a screenshot of the references for a video Somerton had made which was just a number of citations of one documentary, before making a snide comment about how he'd probably just watched a documentary and decided to cover it himself (a valid criticism but that's not the point here). The effect this had was that Hbomberguy's community were flooding Somerton's comment sections, (allegedly) dming him awful things, and above all just making a mockery of him. Now, I don't at all believe that Hbomb would've been responsible for Somerton doing anything, but the more pertinent question is, based on his past criticisms, would Hbomberguy?
