But you don’t see them making it known to the public & smearing there names in the business industries. They know celebrities in China have no power to retaliate against them. Tax evasion is not a mistake, it is a crime in most countries. As harmful as drug trafficking or insider trading and monopoly behaviours. Economic crimes are far worse for undermining society than petty crime that people get wound up about. Sure, he should be allowed to rejoin society as any former criminal should, but don't call his actions "a mistake".

@@agneteht I think it is incomparable- true crimes , including economic crimes, and what happened to DL- he never refused or stopped paying, he never instructed his personnel to not to pay. Do you agree on that? So in reality he just underpaid amount . And this IS a mistake. Miscalculation. According to many Chinese bloggers the system of taxation is something that changing constantly. If it is so then how you can call a responsible person “ criminal “? I believe your opinion is extreme and judgmental.

How many of these same government officials constantly get away with the same thing he's accused of, and it is nicely packaged and covered up for them unless they fall out of grace with the wrong people? Don't be so quick to judge when you don't know the full details of this matter. Many times (even when innocent), public personalities pay the penalties to quickly put an end to negative press to salvage their careers, and to protect it from people like you who don't look beneath the surface and evaluate for themselves, check the period they're accusing him of .... the Covid 19 pandemic was running through the world especially China. I would love to see the evidence presented that his company was fake, it's very likely that it didn't get started, and that's just one probability. However, he didn't make use of it and only pay $44.55M resulting in the crime. During the investigation, he also took the initiative to disclose more tax evasion which were not discovered, this action shows that it was not a mistake. Tax evasion is a crime and any one commited crime is unlikely to return to Entertainment Circle.

I enjoyed his dramas and wish him the best. Everyone makes mistakes and should be allowed second chances. Who among us has not fallen short in some way of the other? No judgement here.

After watching his movies and TV shows, I developed a deep appreciation for his performances on television. As a result, I have become genuinely fascinated with Chinese culture. Although I am not overly concerned about his personal life, I am delighted to hear that he is doing well after everything he has been through. Out of the many Chinese celebrity scandals, I feel the most for Deng Lun, what a shame cause I saw something special on him as an actor and expected him to be relevant for a few more years. In his case, I do believe he was careless and trusted too much the wrong people. He is from a rather strict and well educated family.. how could he knowingly commit a fraud that could jeopardize his career and image forever??? 😣

Deng Lun is one of my fave actors and is probably up near the top of my list. I have missed him so much and it's good to hear about him again.. However, whether he returns to acting will be seen. It all depends if he gets the acting bug again. I wish he would go to another country and act. Good for him and his GF for still being together and weathering the storm. I still believe in Deng Lun and feel yet today that he was swayed by older people who were dishonest and devious. I know he is a grown man but 29 is hardly mature enough to make serious decisions. Especially men who mature at a slower rate. Deng Lun #FIGHTING

For crying out loud! His lawyers and manager were there working for him! They should have seen that the taxes were paid on time !so it wasn't him who made the mistake! It was the people he put his trust into doing a job, who didn't! So the Film industry must check their own industry to see how much mistake they have on their backs, and give a fantastic actor a second chance!

Never understood why tax evasion or such normal things disqualified a person from his job, I'm china also same in Korea, just PAY THE FINE and move on. Its not like he murdered someone. And it's not even a scandal

Thanks to Deng Lun I love Chinese dramas. He happens to stand out. Among a myriad of cute, expressionless little actors, mass products of the Chinese industry, he is masculine, charismatic and moving. He became world famous with Ashes of Love and soon he was directing his own play "Mr Fighting." The competition in China is fierce, whoever stands out arouses jealousy and envy, they do not forgive him for his TALENT, because he has already paid for his guilt in taxes. In the West we don't have Weibo, my opinion is impartial. Allow Deng Lun to work, he is a source of pride for Chinese cinema.

Deng is an excellent actor... but that's the loss of the Chinese Drama Industry. It's good to know that he is living a much better less stressful demanding life as he did I'm sure as an actor. These little things of the people who took care of his taxes saying *We made him fully aware*... did they have the proof... receipts... notification etc. If it were me... I would put a notification in front of my boss whose taxes I'm watching and let him know the issues & then at the same time have him initial the document. HOWEVER, if they are just saying they told him, just to cover their incompetence.. because they thought they can fix it without issue... especially if Deng was busy with his scripts, filming etc.!!!! There are just to many questions... although he apologized.... well ... what else can he do... even if he didn't know... these people who worked for him already threw him under the bus. I wish him the very very best in his life with his restaurants & hopefully future happiness with his long time girlfriend.

I agree if you’re his manager then it’s your responsibility to make sure that his taxes are paid but I think they have something to hide like pocketing money and not being honest

It’s a shame that these entertainers don’t get a break when it comes to the Chinese media I been fellowing dang lung and have seen his dramas and enjoyed every minute of watching him but I’ve also know that the entertainment industry is very hard on the actors and have cruel requirements that pushes the actors to the breaking point and I’ve seen a lot of Chinese actors get depressed and suffer a lot but keep going because this is what they love to do acting like a passion for them selves and sometimes it’s not their fault but they have managers who are responsible for taking care of their clients this man and others pay the price but is real misunderstood and are blamed the way I see it most of them deserve to be blamed but ding and zhang needs a chance to come back they’re great actors and everyone makes mistakes like zhang he went on vacation and took a foto and was said he was a traitor which was wrong he went into depression and they bullied his mother this stuff is ridiculous that well loved actors were treated like this

Tax evasion is a crime, not a "mistake". "Everyone commits crime"?... No, I didn't think so... It was planned, deliberate taxevasion, not a mistake. Which is why the social punishment is so harsh. Sure, maybe evrntuslly his talent should allow him social reinsertion as should be the case for everyone, including former rapists, murderers, but this idea that economic crime is somehow less harmful shows how ignorant you all are. Taxes pay for healthcare for the poorest, for rural education, for emergency flood prevention, evacuation etc. Tax evasion steals from the poorest, the weakest and the hardest hit. It is profoundly antisocial and he would in no way have suffered from paying the due taxes at the right time, he was absurdly wealthy.

Wow the Chinese are a bit harsh on their entertainers. Here in the U S the more controversy the more popular the entertainer. I wonder how many of the people who came against him over this are squeaky clean themselves. This young man is an exceptionally good actor and I quite enjoy watching him. I guess it is because he does so well in his rolls that I see him as that character. As far as I am concerned, he has no life outside of the drama I am watching. I hope he returns but it doesn't look like he needs to.
