As a born Chinese, these comments don't surprise me unfortunately This happens when you grow up in an environment where you'll be compared to another person constantly. For example, I was always compared to my cousin, who is very book smart. However, I grew up in a European country, where the environment taught me otherwise. If the environment taught you that other people will always be better, jealousy will take over and that is how you will perceive others as well. This is especially the case with celebrities in China.

Hearing his fellow peers criticize him only shows their ignorance. Talent is NOT about looks, its character and charisma which he has an abundance of. I've seen and heard countless handsome men who could NEVER hold a tune if their lives depended on it. His voice calms the soul and relaxes you completely. Whenever I feel the days craziness get to me, I put on his songs and I feel all the BS slowly slip away. HE'S THAT GOOD!!! His star may have started late BUT it will continue to shine BRIGHTER & STRONGER in the years ahead. Like many, I will continue to watch his movies AND listen to his songs!!!

I watched Under the Skin and fell in love with him.He is incredibly good looking and his acting was first class.When I found out he was not only an actor but singer and dancer I was even more amazed. His height should not stop him from getting film parts its his talents that matter and he's a great actor.Many kpop idols are not tall. Some Korean actors are not tall and wear shoes to look taller. Best Chinese actor I have seen sofar. I am impressed by his expressive eyes. With those eyes he can play anything he wants, be it romantic hero, blackhearted villain or refrigerator, it doesn't matter. I think he is very handsome despite some little imperfections that i can't even voice. Those slight imperfections make him dangerously attractive and a better actor. Perfection is empty. Character is imperfect. Also I think his height is just right. I am thinking of Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman who are both shorter and still are among the best actors Hollywood has produced.

I was late in knowing and watching Tan Jianci, but the first time I saw him in Under the skin,I loved him right away. He is a very good actor. I was even shocked to know that he can sing and dance.so I sort of googled him to know his Bio.

Tanjianci is most of powerfull actor , I always saw a brightness of his eyes ,The indomitable desire to conquer the world is in his eyes, the desire of infinite love for someone in his eyes. You can be beautiful, but boring as a boulder. You may not have beauty, but talent and charisma will lift you above the world. Tan Jianci has both talent and charisma. But if you look into his eyes, you will see all the beauty of this world.

The last quote he gives about the mountains is just another reason to love him more. People criticize his looks and height but those who don’t understand the kind of inner strength, self-confidence, work ethic it takes to keep putting one foot in front of the other against such pettiness will never be an inspiration like Tan or probably succeedin life. He views his challenges as motivation and because of that he literally SHINES like the star he is. Not a Hollywood star, but the shining light of a star in the sky. It comes from the Soul and burns bright enough to illuminate what really matters - his MANY talents, his sweetness, his resiliency, and to me, his good looks. He can have a life long career if they handle him correctly. 🙏

He's handsome because he can act which makes the character he is playing convincing. And that makes him attractive to me unlike those that just have a pretty face. Saw him for the very first time in "Love Me, Love My Voice". And really loved his character and seductive voice, plus the fact that he can sing well is a bonus. And when I later learned that he is quite the dancer too, that is icing on the cake.
