Josephine, I too lost my uncle in November too. My uncle was very sick and suffering and thankfully found peace right before the American Thanksgiving. My family all live in Taiwan and none of my immediate family were able to return. Thankfully, I will return this spring and finally get to say my goodbyes to him. I hope you and your family are able to find solace and comfort soon! I am glad you are back and missed you!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I perfectly understant your experience with this fragrance... my confort fragrance is AKKAD by Lubin... so many memories, so many difficulties and pain in life, but when I wear AKKAD I feel the warm hug of my mother, and a soft traquillity... I dont know why. . My mum didn't wear Akkad, but .. But sonething happen when I smell it.. that's it

Josephine, I remember I wrote in 1 comment about Bon Parfumeur. I have discovered this brand on Cult beauty. So I ordered some little bottles. I like that the smells are simple. They consist of 3 notes and you can combine and layer the bottles. Right now I have my 15 ml bottle of No. 201 (green apple, lily of the valley and quince) at my bedside. It's such a nice spring freshie. I am happy that you have seen Bon Parfumeur in Paris. I don't think they are "revolutional", but the perfumes are easy going, "dumb reach", long lasting with nice projection. Adriana P.S. There's a good reason why aromatherapy exists. Of course you have reached for a perfume in your difficult life period. The scents heal our wounds. God bless you ❤

I am so sorry for your loss. I can see the pain you are feeling, and I hope that it subsides with time and is replaced with only wonderful memories. You brought me to tears.. how I can relate..all I had to do was see your eyes and I knew you’d lost someone. My eyes look the same…and I actually started my fragrance journey during the time I had lost so many of my family & friends all within a two yr time frame. So the way you described the emotional connection to scent spoke directly to my soul. It’s honestly been my coping mechanism of sorts. Maybe it’s escapism but I need that now more than ever. Thanks for posting ❤..and I really enjoyed seeing all the interesting experiences you had; very immersive and exciting!

That perfume for me is Osmanthus by Ormonde Jayne. I happened to wear my ancient sample one day in 2021, sort of giving it another chance because before that I was a bit "meh" about it. That day I received news of a family member dying, it was totally sudden and tragic. I remember it was a sunny autumn day, and the scent just bloomed and it was like it warmed me up and brought so much comfort. I bought a full bottle within a week, it has become a staple in my collection and I don't ever want to be without it. Every time I am feeling down, I reach for it. (And funnily enough, I keep getting compliments on it, like a lot! There goes my "meh". I learned to appreciate this scent so much.) Sorry for your loss!
