No one can lift the basket cases mentally in the old guard. The same old faces blowing it for us. Also Beales signings, have screwed us other than Butland, and our signing of Silva hasn't worked from January. Losing Cortes has been a huge blow.

To be honest there are games at every level of football now that is the case with. Most teams set out with the same formation now same tactics it's a case of how has the best players in the modern game wins. It's more a case of fitness now than anything else something our squad is definitely lacking. But a club like Chelsea are overly drilled buy modern stands. There is a fine line between not being drilled enough to over doing it.

@@alanfox691 tactics are an essential part of the game. I am actually surprised having researched Clements past teams, that he hasn't really altered Beales tactics or set up much. From his past he seems very tactically astute as a manager, yet we aren't seeing much change yet. I wonder if he is holding back in that aspect as he doesn't want to overload this group? Or perhaps he knows their weaknesses well and know they aren't cut out for that, so he has tried to nurse what he has through until the season end. The lack of a change of style and system with a new boss baffles me. Why change manager at all if you are going to set up the same? When we are losing games, all he does is switch personnel. We never see him playing 2 or 3 forwards to chase a game or ever doing anything different. I want to know more and what others think on this.

I go the the gym at the fairmont hotel where team stayed before the cancelled game last week, I saw small cliques of players hanging around together, others just by walking around by themselves of their phones. The club had booked the sports bar area for just the team for a couple of hours, and only 4 players turned up, then left. And they opened it back up to the public. Just a small anecdote, but given the last 2 games, it would seem there is definitely disharmony within the playing squad, and I believe that is on the manager to fix (if true).

If we start next season with goldson, tav and ludstrum two things are going to happen, one we wont be winning the title, and two the manager won't make Christmas. Clement needs to quickly realize these players arent his friends, theyve gotten several managers the sack and theyre very happy and comfortable finishing 2nd, it effects not even 1 tiny bit.

Should've got Shankland in January. Its coming back to bite us now

Shankland would have helped but if we are being real the same players who bottle it every year would have done the same thing even with Lawrence in the team. The wingers and the 10s are not creating enough plus we have a shaky defence. A striker is needed in the summer but so is a new defence.

Promote as many youths as we can to fill positions in the remaining games. The youths would fight and claw for the games to impress. I would back them and accept ups and downs as they grow vs supporting the garbage that fills most of those jerseys. Keep Butland, Balogun and Souttar. Ridvan as well when fit. Keep Cantwell, Raskin and Rabbi as ones to connect with younger players as well. Play them instead for the remaining games. See how they do and set them up for next season and add some quality in the summer to the best of the group. There is options to change. Clement has to show the guts to change it. Sticking by the same serial losers, that have cost other managers, will cost Clement. I want him to succeed. I don't want us to keep changing managers. However if he doesn't help himself by changing the team and dropping the untouchables in the old guard of this side as well as Silva then he will have chosen his hill to die on, just like Gio and Beale. In recent ganes starting with the Celtic game first half, they don't look like guys desperate to win a title and hungry and up for it from the off. Many of that team don't have the right stuff to honour the badge. On a side note, Morelos was never all that in the league, especially against Celtic. Good riddance to him. Also the reason we are punting the long ball is to keep the high press from being effective because our defenders, Tav and Goldson are FN useless and can't deal with a high press.

Agreed, i'm surprised raskin has been kicked to the curb by clement. Hes not been great but hes a young lad, has plenty of room to grow as a player. Ludstrum barring a 2-3 month spell has been every bit as bad or worse than raskin. Difference is hes 31yrs old, wont get any better and his contract is up in the summer. Get the young guys in now.

@yogaflame7884 Yeah Raskin would be better than Lundstram. The lad has been injured though. Maybe a problem with his recovery, I don't know or attitude. Surely he can be forgiven and given another chance if that is the case? I think Lundstram was playing for a big pay day, thinking he would pull what Goldson did. The deal isn't coming and he has downed tools. Goldson should never have been offered that wage either at his age.

I said at the beginning of LAST season if we start with tav goldson and barasic in defence we won't win the league, and we started THIS season with them and I guarantee we start NEXT season with tav and goldson. If you don't laugh you'll cry, the same players bottle it every time and I don't need xg to tell me otherwise, remember years ago the same defence being beaten at home by Hamilton after we got ourselves into a title race. It will never change...

Take tavs set pieces and pens away and nearly all his goals and assists disappear with it. And then youre left with a very mediocre wing back whos almost 35yrs old, cant defend, cant attack, has awful crossing etc. His buddy goldson is even worse. Add ludstrum to the mix aswell

Agree with the point around issues with spine of the team. Since Gerrard we’ve put together a core team that is comfortably the second best in the league. Thing about that is you’ll beat most teams most of the time; you’ll go on some really good runs, like last 4 managers have, and you’ll get a false sense of security about the squad, but you’ll always be caught short when it counts. Aside from 55 this has happened every year since SG. Need to finish the clear out for sure.

Rangers form has gone off a cliff because, like every other season, there is expectations. The same players from the last 3 or 4 seasons bottle crashes the minute they are expected to take it over the line.

The rot dates back to before Clements time. We were supposed to have a rebuild. Beale wasted money we did spend but there were too many loans and have been each season. The rebuild was a PR job. If we do the same and flood the team with loans and frees and Tav, Goldson, Lundtstram are still here we are in for more torture. We need to depart from that. Use the youths, give them time and add a sprinkling of 2 to 3 quality guys per window in terms of long term signings.

We started the game last night with 11 right footed players. That is a borderline sackable level of strategic coaching.

In the cold light of day, despite the last three games, Rangers are 3 points behind. Not great and a disappointment. However, we are talking 3 points. Yes, the first team needs works. Goldson is not as commanding as he should be. No controlling midfielder. And no target man/striker that is going to convincingly score you 25 to 30 goals. The quality levels need to go up. Celtic were there for the taking this season but that appears as if its not going to happen now. But cool heads.

If you dont want to play for the manager,then do it for your loyal fans who have travelled three times to Dundee in the last few weeks,Phil take a leaf out of big Jock Wallace's book and get the cowards by the throat.

There was millions of examples showing us that dessers would miss triple at least before he might score one. We have a successful history of having one Scottish striker Boyd,miller,McCoist to name a few. There is lack of quality and no flair in this team. This playing players out of positions is not working the only player where that has worked is Sterling. The fight has gone. The team needs to be stripped down and rebuilt. Sunday is a huge huge game to try and save this season. We will be lucky if we win the league on last two performances

Think loss of Europe has a lot to do with the drop off. Now that's gone, it's back to the domestic scene that those players think that they are above. Sadly, they aren't. Only way this will be solved will by getting rid of approx 80% of the squad, and that will likely engender more nail biting as the replacements will take time to bed in. For now, we have the concern of the players we have currently are going to phone in their performances for the next month, going to let themselves, and us, down next month at the toilet bowl and end up with no league nor cup. We have got a lot of red mist to sift through before it gets any better.

I'd rather Clement dropped Lundstram, Goldson etc and tried to slot boys in alongside likes of Sterling. Shouldnt have let likes of Devine go out on loan. Why have the young guys and never give them a chance - at least they will be hungry to impress which cant be said for majority of senior squad. And joshua with his stats and banging the drum for Raskin - he's also been pish any time hes played this season - total myth. This team will limp to end of season now it's a disgrace.

And to counter your point about losing goals via LB - I believe fans would be more understanding towards the situation given the undisputed evidence that Barisic isn't interested and offers nothing at this point. He shouldn't even be considered.

Clement, is either deluded, or just blatantly protecting, these serial bottles in the core of the team. If 'any' of the old guard are still here, next season, i think he'll be gone, sooner than we think.

Using the analogy of buying a fixer-upper and start by painting the walls , new kitchen , new roof and other cosmetic improvements is what big Phil did, Unfortunately he did not look at the "foundation" which was severely damaged i.e. Tav, Goldson, Lundstram etc that has totally collapsed now and all the good work has been totally destroyed because he did not fix the core issue!!! Clement of course is not free from blame. He picks the team and makes the subs! And he has got lineups wrong in recent weeks. He is the one who needs to try and motivate these players with team talks etc. But what is he meant to do with this team? He isn’t going to throw them under the bus with a cup semi final on Sunday and 5 league games still to be played. No Manager has ever thrown our players under the bus. It’s all political stuff for the cameras. Maybe it’s just me but I think he is having very different talks behind the scenes with the board and Koppen. These players and ‘Leaders’ have seen off 3 managers! They’re mentally weak and not good enough! This is not his team these are the usually failures and Beales’s awful Summer Signings. He deserves the Summer to build his own team as best he can with what little money he will probs have. It’s not gonna happen overnight and will take a couple of windows. But he needs to be ruthless and get rid of the old Guard and as much of Beale’s signings as possible. If he doesn’t then he will get the sack and it will be rinse and repeat.

I’m constantly fuming at the lack of player fight, meaningful aggression. They look like snowflakes out there. Teams are bullying Rangers.
