Top Comment ❤ - Sean is top notch. He's so fascinated and kind. This is how we all should strive to be. Enthused by enthusiasm. Imagine if all of our cops, judges, politicians explained themselves in such a kind but highly knowledged manner. Thanks for having him on. Will you please have him know again?

I would say that spacetime decreases entropy when kinetic energy goes down. That way stars and planets get born.

this part was So unedifying. For a start it needs to be discussed what the realtionship is between thermodynamic entropy (disorder) and information theory's *entropy*, where I believe the word means the *quantity of information*. We could use some guest to help, sort this out (and tell the von Neumann joke anecdote about the naming the-quantity-of-information - he really was joking - he certainly intuited the rich, real, but counterintuitive analogy(?)

Why are we classifying it as information? When a hurricane or say an explosion destroys something do we call the remaining wreckage information? I just dont understand the desire to call it information. Just trying to make what theyre looking for make sense

The mass amounts of energy it’s taking in is the “information” in this sense. Obviously a hurricane tears shit up but does it turn all that matter into nothingness and it ceases to exist even in bits and torn up pieces?

I think you need to look at it like information doesn't need to be useful or discernable to be information. Just like with a hurricane, all of the things it destroys can be pieced back together, all the information is still there, it exists. The same concept goes to the extreme, when you burn a piece of wood and you have nothing but ashes and various amounts of carbon and oxygen released into the air, etc. The information is still all there, it still all exists, and it is in fact possible to collect all the ashes and carbon and oxygen and piece back together that exact piece of wood. Then go even more to the extreme, and apply the same concept to black holes and hawking radiation. The information of everything that went into the black hole still exists and is theoretically possible to put back together what was inside through those same concepts. The ability and time to actually do something like that is another topic/question in and of itself though.

@@christopherareed If matter switches states its structure is erased. If you burn a piece of wood you loose the information of its structure, branches et.c. so how would you piece that together? where is that information stored?

I’m with you, what is decimating it that makes it information if nobody is on the other end of it? I guess we are not in on the lingo of what physicists call information or whatever information law is.

'Black Holes'? Hmm, Memory is our Highest Basic-Ability, second last Deep-Sleep, before wake, is our Memory-Body. So it is Here, that all and any Memory, is Stored. If Memory didn't exist, We would Not be Able, to Remember from word to word. Stuff-side of Life, is a Motion-Ocean, Memory is woven into all Stuff. The Eternal Perspective.

@UCy5ebYM3nD5ezU1L6XnAmJA I have to do some reading before I can make a more cogent critical comment. But I think it fair to say that you guys are a bit irresponsible to deploy the term 'info density' as if the meaning is unambiguous. The following comment Displays the uncertainty of what you mean by information, by giving the example of a very precise irrational number, which of course 'doesnt tell you anything much', ie is Not *informative* in the way we normally think of 'information'

@UCy5ebYM3nD5ezU1L6XnAmJA we normally associate 'meaning' and 'information, but I think, when we are speaking in information-theoretic terms they are actually in inverse relationship - meaning/pattern recognition happens when info is *minimized*

There are seven dimensions, and every thought, action, and emotion is imprinted on the stars and planets. When a group of people pass away or resolve certain issues, it can manifest as planets or stars being consumed by black holes. In this way, black holes act as cosmic recycling devices :)
