I’m a great tipper. After a year of dating and splitting the bill with an ex, I found out he was shitty tipper and pocketing the extra cash. I railed on him because that’s my rep on the line…in restaurants where staff know me by name!

Back when everyone shopped at department stores , most of the employees made an hourly wage but the shoe department they made commission . If you were good you could support your family on that income . Crazy !!

He does interject too much, but he also has a knack for getting people to divulge a lot of stuff about themselves. If you want to watch a great interview, look up when he was a guest on Bill Maher's show. He took over the whole interview and made Bill so uncomfortable. It was masterful.

TIPPING : It should be outlawed, like they do in a lot of NYC restaurants. Just pay the staff a living wage. It's not for customers to make up the difference. I used to tip on percentage, but now I leave the same amount whether the big is big or small. And always in cash, and I ask who gets to keep the tip. And remember, a Service Charge is discretionary ( it was introduced when going to a restaurant was a thing the middle class started to do in the 1950's, as people were unsure of what tip to give ). If I'm paying a charge for service, well, that is what a tip is. So I never tip when I've paid a service charge. That just doesn't make sense. Mind you, I'm in Europe, where people are sane about tipping/ not tipping.

We had to pay them where I used to waitress/bartend.. we also had to tip out the bartender at the end of the night even if I had to tell her how to make a basic cocktail or took 20 minutes to grab one beer 😏
