Not long after awakening this morning, when checking the calendar for today's date, was there a moment when November 19th caused me to pause. Having recognized it was the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, I wondered just how many Americans would follow in my realization. Doug Douds has offered a beautiful memorial to this day and what it stands for, but I must also acknowledge the breathtaking comments in response to this video by those that I am honored to share in this moment of genuine humanity. Thank you all, and stay safe.

Just back from the Army War College where I had the honor of hearing Col. Douds (USMC Ret) speak on time and its use in strategy. He is among the most captivating lecturers I have witnessed. Later in the week, we would take a staff ride at Gettysburg only to drive past Col. Douds house situated serenely overlooking a battlefield. This man clearly lives his passion and we are the better for learning from his collective expertise.

At a time of division and hatred when Americans are turning on each other for no valid reason everyone needed to be reminded of these values. Thank you Doug.🇺🇸🆓

FDR's Four Freedom's and MLK are brilliant additions!!! Doug Douds is an effing Genius!!! We have to become what Lincoln wants us to be - or coming down from the trees and becoming humans was a wrong turn on the pathway of evolution. We have to realize our potential for human flourishing by developing egalitarian and democratic institutions in the economy, kinsystem, state, and culture. There will still be necessary hierarchies, (adults over children, technical expertise in div of lab) but they will be transparent, democratically accountable, and consciously as few as are genuinely necessary for some demonstrable social good. it is also the only way to humanely navigate the coming climate change catastrophe. We are in for some genuinely rough times. Our best hope is some kind of benevolent military bonapartism. I wish it was the working class in workplace councils, neighborhood councils and control over the traditional state. But, I think it will be the military that ends up stepping in to the keep the far-right from seizing power.

Listen carefully to him at 12:04. "It starts with enduring values and beliefs". This is the nucleus of the political problems today. We used to be a unified nation sharing the same values. Now we have become a house divided, with those of my stripe looking to the founding documents for our values, and others who are trying to tear it all down and fundamentally change America. I sincerely hope that because you are here watching this video you stand with me against the rise of socialist tyranny. The men who died over 150 years ago to preserve our union are owed so much from us even now. I will preserve the memory of their sacrifice and hold this union dear.
