Sacred Trust 2023: Doug Douds

Army leadership is a collective activity. At Gettysburg, George Meade and R.E. Lee employed commanding machines - senior subordinate commanders and staff officers to lead their armies. Doug Douds will compare their commanding machines’ structure and processes, giving insights to the battle’s outcome.
Doug Douds is a retired Marine Colonel, a faculty member at the U.S. Army War College and a Licensed Battlefield Guide. This fall, he will defend his Ph.D. dissertation at Leeds University in England on a comparative case study of field army command during the Battle of Gettysburg.
Join us to commemorate the 161st anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg with Sacred Trust 2024 Talks & Book Signings at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center.
Details to be announced in the spring of 2024. For more information, visit www.gettysburgfoundation.org/...

Wow, what a great presentation! Amazing seeing Col. Douds take his professional knowledge, apply it to the armies we think we know well, and communicate what he sees… and others have missed. 🤯
