One of the earliest puppets shows I watched as a kid watching on PBS Kids, alongside Bear in the Big Blue House, which I watched on Playhouse Disney a longtime ago back in the early 2000s.

Also yeah, I am right there with you.👍 This show, Bear in the big blue house, The Book of pooh, and a few other puppet themed nickelodeon shows were the first few puppet based shows that I remember growing up watching as a kid. Yes, speaking of these shows, another puppet show I watched that used to air on PBS Kids Sprout back in the late 2000s called “The Hoobs” (yes, it’s a puppet show from the UK, and they made it’s US debut in Christmas of 2006).

4:28 Meeting Leona was one of the coolest experiences EVER!! She was so sweet! Pam’s wonderful too! Thanks for including the clip from Jake’s Happy Nostalgia Show in the video! (And for giving us credit too! Much appreciated!)

Between The Lions is one of my favorite PBS Kids shows! The puppets are so adorable!

DefunctTV reintroduced me to the show Back then, I could only remember the theme song But it’s nice to know that some of these puppets have survived the years that passed

They don’t make shows like Between The Lions anymore. It was really fascinating to watch as a kid. The creativity and how they made teaching so fun was amazing. I truly enjoyed watching every episode and loved it.

Agreed! The show didn't talk down to you. The creators of the show had the characters talking right to you. The visuals of the puppets & word imagery helped the audience understand the lesson. Thanks for watching! 👍

Personally speaking, The Zula Patrol is my favorite childhood show overall. I've made a cover of the theme song back in the summer of 2023, drew the main characters twice, made a clay figure of the logo, AND I plan to cosplay.

Thank you for making this video, I was roughly about 5 when the show came out, and I was just learning to read. I loved lions, and I loved reading. It was a perfect show for me. I had an opportunity to go meet Leona in 2002, but I unfortunately couldn’t go. I was going to a surprise, which turned out to be the tour of The Lion King. These characters have, much like Bear, stuck with me over the years. I did however go on KZread a few years ago to remind myself how much I loved this show. Even if I didn’t like Artie Smartie (I’m sorry, he’s just weird to me)

My guess is that they must have changed the writers of the show in the later seasons or they probably just decided not to use those characters as much. 👍
