    What’s funny is the sunflower seeds is the most expensive part of this recipe. You could make a much cheaper sauce using peanut butter.

    I think it's really all about using local ingredients. Eastern Europe? Here, have 1 kg of sunflower seeds for 1$. Kale? 3$ for 50g.

    A trick you can use I figured out , in the baking isle sometimes they have small little bags of seeds and nuts to use instead of buying a big bag ! I use them for salads sometimes lol

    I made these last night for my family and they were Incredible! The only question I did have was how to make the sunflower cream sauce smoother? Mine turned out pretty gritty even after adding extra water. The flavor was there but I feel like I didn’t get the texture quite right!

    Soaking them should help. You should use unsalted raw sunflower seeds. The rest depends on the strength of your blender. Exact same recipe works with pumpkin seeds (unsalted, raw)

    Ohhh this looks so good & filling. I make a very similar meal for when I work in office and eat it at room temp. If I eat that at 11, I am full until six in the evening; then have a small meal.

    I make something similar but smearing some hummus on top of the sweet potatoes, making it cheaper! And it stops the chickpeas from rolling al over the plate as well :)

    I love your channel so I don't want you to think this comes from hate. That equals $840 a month for a family of 4. That's simply not a budget meal. Most are trying to do it off less than half of that.

    Buy tahini paste and you don’t need to make it with the sunflower seeds it’s sesame instead. Mix it with fresh plain yoghurt and it’s even nicer with sweet potatoes. Kale is also really nice fried. Kale can be substituted for cabbage and it’s often cheaper, spinach is also delicious as well. Beans can substitute chick peas as well.

    The kale alone where I live!!! Also I would have turned my sweet potato into a roti 🫓 and I would have used romaine hearts and more root vegetables in that roasted vegetables to go along with the kale and chickpeas yummy

    If your not a huge kale fan, try roasting it a little. Tastes a million times better. Not like you haven’t already got the oven on anyway!! And to save more, buy dried chick peas and cook them and freeze them. You won’t be able to use frozen for salad (they go mushy) but they’re great for hummus or roasting.

    Where do you buy kale in March. I live in Kale Country (Germany) and you can only get it fresh in November and December here. Sweet Potatoes don‘t grow here so they are very expensive. I would buy one of that size for my whole Family. Chickpeas also aren‘t that cheap. This would be a quite expensive meal in Germany.😁

    Should soak sunflower seeds at least 8-12 hours. Otherwise, sauce will be gritty.
