I loved the mega evolution series with Alain. He’s one of the only rivals who had a few episodes as a protagonist so we could see how he started

Love to see another Pokemon Chronicles type series that deals with all of Ash's friends, rivals, champions, gym leaders, elite and other side characters that he met along the way to tell what they have been up to after Ash becoming the world champion or before and throughout the series, so yeah

@@Transdimensional Yeah, hopefully we truly need a Pokémon Pokémon Chronicles 2.0 series, bring back missing characters from the previous series including the original Chronicles series too like that unique Pichu form, the character who's based on Gold, the two Team Rocket members from Chronicles and so on, also missing characters from the games like the Gen 5 protagonists (Hilbert, Hilda, Rose and such), Gen 7 protagonists, Gen 8 protagonists, Zinnia and the Dragonids (seems like she may appear in Horizons at some point involving Shiny Rayquaza maybe? Copium here), Ultra Recon characters and so on, so yeah

Albeit though when they brought Gary back, they kinda reverted him back to how he used to be in the OG series. Being an actual researcher really did Mature his character shown in Chronicles and his further appearances in Sinnoh. But when they decided to bring him back in Journeys, his overall personality character seemed to change back to how he was before in Kanto & Johto

Ash and Gary hit home for me...glad their journeys allowed them two to grow ( mentally you know )

We see Ash go from 10 to 11, he explicity turns 11 in Alola also, Gary was the last out of Oaks lab. He didnt pick Squirtle. He only had Squirtle left as a choice!

You forget that Ritchie also has an Eevee. In the epsiode where Professor Oak got kidnapped, Ritchie wanted to visit Oak to see how he wanted to evolve his Eevee.

Hearing Gary's catch totals like 45 pokemon by episode 12 and 200 by the indigo league, it really sticks out that for a series with the moniker "gotta catch em all" it's main protagonist really didn't catch a lot of pokemon. Like even if we are generous and count evolutions of the same pokemon as "pokemon caught" the same way the pokedex does, by the point Gary has caught 45, Ash has caught 8 (Pikachu, caterpie, metapod, butterfree, pidgeotto, bulbasaur, charamander, squirtle). By the time Gary has over 200 pokemon, Ash has caught 15 (Pikachu, caterpie, metapod, butterfree (released), pideotto, bulbasaur, charamander, chameleon, charizard (won't listen), squirtle, krabby, kingler, muk, primeape (released), haunter (released)) + 30 tauros (which he never uses, the first tauros he uses is in the orange island championship, for the purposes of kanto catching 30 is a gag in an internationally cut episode). Ignoring the fact Ash didn't really win 3 of his badges in Kanto, really strikes how terrible of a trainer he was in Kanto

Ashs true rival that he has'nt beaten yet is turning 11 years old

All of Ash’s rivals didn’t quite wanna see him fight Leon, except Gladion who is only in the far right corner, distant from the Alola group. Mostly the three hated ones Paul, trip, and Alain didn’t wanna see Ash, and the bragging Gary didn’t want to see him too.

So in the original comic series “Electric tales of pikachu” Richie appears but instead of a charmander named “zippo” he has a charizard named “Charlie”. If you watch the Pokémon shirt about blossom and her nidoran her father looks suspiciously like Richie and he has a charizard named “Charlie”… so you may say he grew up and had a daughter with a galarian trainer that beat him in a battle

I noticed the anime reallyy likes to create fake badges, thought it was only Gary's until I noticed Barry's and Sawyer's badges

I'm glad that Barry is on this list, but doesn't Cameron counts as one of Ash's rivals, but also I still hope we got to 👀 both of them return in the series 🥺.

I was never the biggest fan of paul but, he is just his own character

The way I see it they should have made one of the episodes of Aim to be a Pokémon Master go like this. Ash gets a message from Gary telling him to meet at the Viridain Gym in Kanto so they could have a rematch after Ash became World Champion that would be a great way to finish off their rivalry before Ash's story comes to an end.

Now that I think about it the episode should have gone more like this. Gary sends Ash a message to meet at the Viridain Gym and then we see that Gary, Paul, Sawyer, Alain, Gladion, and Ritchie are all there to challenge Ash after he became the new World Champion. @@natalimoina

Leon vs Alain was the most depressing fight of them all, leon is more of a tell not show while alain was actually show not tell we saw him get stronger while we were just told leon was strong. i think alain should have given him more of a challenge

Kinda wished they never added Go to the series like that. I'm fine with him being an added character, but Journeys really should be just Ash alone for once doing everything solo. I felt like they really dropped the ball in that aspect.
