Genesis 25:27-34 records the famous account of Esau selling his birthright to his brother Jacob. In this chapter we see Esau was a man ruled by his appetite. In other words, his god was his gut. Esau made two disastrous exchanges because of his enslavement to his appetite, but it seems he learned how to do this from his own father, Isaac.
