Just FYI, that's exactly how extroverts feel around you. They aren't exactly thrilled about conversation carrying. They much prefer the upward spiral of back-and-forth energy sharing with another extrovert.

Luisa it's probably because there is a give and take of the conversation. I am extraverted and have been in conversations that I only I was carrying and it was nearly impossible. One word answers sucked my soul.

So true. The "I'll meet you there" line gives me so much anxiety, that I've driven two hours out of my way just to pick the extrovert up myself so we could show up together even though I lived 15 minutes from the event that I really wanted to go to. I need my social shield!!!

As an introvert, I have a disdain for people who regularly show up late or try to reschedule. I have to mentally prepare myself for social interaction, and if my energies are wasted, it feels like a betrayal of me and the friendship, especially if it occurs on a regular basis. I truly do believe that flakiness is one of the main problems with maintaining friendships today. Because people have cell phones, they feel that they can just cancel at the last minute.

Wow. Couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve almost turned into a recluse. I’m not socially awkward and can at least easily make casual conversation with pretty much anyone. But last minute changes of any kind just wear me out. I’ve reached a point in my life where I will let someone know the sheer amount of aggravation they are causing for me. I no longer feel bad for voicing my annoyance. If you have such disregard for me, then there’s no reason for me hold my tongue to keep you from being uncomfortable. Geesh. Didn’t know all that was going to come out. Oh well.

Also an introvert but I'm frequently late to social events, so I'm not bothered when people are slightly late. But I'm definitely bothered when people are majorly late or no-show. Personally, I'd hate to be the first one there so I usually come a bit later for the best part of the gathering anyways, lol. It's more like strategy than tardiness. What I hate about society & social relationships is that ghosting people is acceptable. The fuck is wrong with people? And in terms of the phones... so many people are ABYSMAL at responding to texts. I much prefer having a phone call to just sort it out in a couple minute, but it's like people are allergic to phone calls now.

@@bahmdiggity9577 I understand. I ended my relationship with my best friend from high school for that reason. After graduation, it seemed like I could never get a hold of him. Almost every time I would arrange for us to get together, he would always cancel or try to reschedule at the last minute. At first, I let his behavior slide, not wanting to ruin what was really my only friendship. Eventually, however, I finally worked up the courage to voice my concerns, and low and behold, I never heard from him again.

I have a tutor (online) that doesn’t seem to be able to handle silence. Often when she gives me time to make notes after explaining, after a matter of seconds she feels the need to repeat something she’s said, give more examples or whatever, which is almost always unnecessary and just distracts me from writing down notes. It’s pretty annoying, but I feel kind bad for her that she seems so awkward in situations of silence lol

A coworker of mine got apprehended by a supervisor, saw his phone out, and was escorted out of the plant building, and was then fired... Even when there's nothing else to do.

I’m an extrovert and most of my friends are introverts. I was having a heart to heart with one of my close friends and I had asked her what she thinks I would need to change in order to succeed in moving to a new state and city. She mentioned flakiness and cancelling plans last minute (on top of practical/pragmatic points like having a certain savings etc). It really took me by surprise because I consider myself pretty reliable when it comes to work and what I consider important or immediate activities. Although I am “social” (or considered social) I think of social gatherings and such at the bottom of my hierarchy of important deeds or actions I need to do. Sometimes I feel like I don’t really make a difference being there or if someone were to cancel on me, although I would miss seeing them around, my “hostess” mentality takes over to try and make sure everyone at the gathering is comfortable that I get busy. It made me feel kind of good that I am missed, but horrible that I would cause someone any sort of duress to the point of irritating someone and searing it in their memory. It’s good to see the other point of view.

If extroverts want to talk, I stay in silence and gives them the feedback they want, avoiding silences to avoid undesirable feelings. But when I'm with an introvert, I talk if it's necessary. If I don't have anything to say, I stay in silence. Before, I felt more akward in this situations, but now I can feel confortable and I can even appreciate this magical silences that I can experience only with introverts...

Plot twist: Frank is one of 16 identical brothers, each a different personality type. This whole time it’s been 16 different guys, but we were made to believe they were all just Frank.

While I find the videos funny, I would kind of like to see an introvert party. These things do exist. In my experience, they revolve around board games, though some other activity could be the focus. I was watching this and wondering "well, why don't you get on with whatever activity you'd planned on doing? The talking will then follow." Because there is no way introverts agreed to get together just to talk without having a specific issue in mind that needed to be resolved.

That is exactly the parties I have with my friends. We always brind board game because at some point we have nothing to say to each other. We like to do some activities which are really the main focus of everyone, like cooking or karaoke, reading a book together, or dancing sometimes (but not everyone is at ease when it come to dance). We also chat of course, it's often serious, we are not joking all the time. It's always focus on an activity, sometimes outside (hiking, to see a show...) and the talking part come after, we rarely gather just to talk. Fun fact, our group discussion is called "free activities" 😂

It gets quiet because you're strategizing or you're admiring the view or you're concentrating on not cutting yourself along with the potatoes, and no one has to feel weird or self conscious about it. I have this little game called Shh! that's the size of a stick of gum. I carry it around in my purse, and if I have to wait around with a group of people, I pull it out. It's a co-operative spelling game, and you're not supposed to talk, though as long as you're not talking about the game, you can let that slide. But it means we can all be quiet while still interacting. These guys could just pull out a normal deck of cards and build a house or play War to pass the time. Or Uno. It's a house. Someone must have an Uno deck.

How many different Frank's are there inside of you? This one was so familiar because, I am acting all the time depending on who I'm with and where I'm at. It made me think about how different I seem to different people. I told one person I was an introvert last week and they started laughing, hysterically!! I forgot that I never curled up in the fetal position in front of them. Keep this up, Frank James. It keeps my spirit up. 💖 Sincerely, Carly

My husband, two other introverts and I went to a comedy show recently to support one of the performers. Four of us were at the table. Three of us are Introverts. Fourth is my husband who's an extrovert but familiar with all of us. Waiting for the show, none of us were talking. Performer came, and gave us info about each other sssuming we needed fodder for conversation. I realized that none of us had missed taking to each other and were perfectly comfortable just sitting and observing the crowd or fiddling with our respective phones.

AW i feel bad for Max having to listen to all those things being said about him :'(

YES! I'm very chatty even though I'm an introvert. As long as I'm with someone I know and feel comfortable with, I appear like I'm an extrovert. But get me around someone I don't know well and it's soooo awkward. I don't know what to say, and I try to fill up awkward silences with chatter, but it's awkward chatter because I'm uncomfortable. It's the worst! I'm also the type of person that either instantly clicks with a person or I don't. There's really not much in between for me. If I don't instantly click with someone, we'll never be close friends. Friendly maybe. Acquaintances sure, but all my close friends and my husband were an instant click. We just got each other immediately. Unfortunately, I don't click with people very often.

I can feel the awkwardness and anxiety of this.

That's why I dont want to be alone with someone. There has to be 2 or more than 2 people with me so it wont be boring. Im an awkward and boring introvert person and it's giving me anxiety always.

I'm actually never waiting on extroverted friends. I'm fine talking with introverts one on one. Extroverts are energy vampires anyway. They like to think they're the life of the party, but they just suck the life out of the party most of the time talking about themselves.

This happened to me with my friend, she was grocery shopping and her grandmother was home and basically shoved stale popcorn in my hands and said “eat” and then gave me a tablet she found lol, at least she cared lol

I HATE it when people ask what the person responded with when you just texted them, my mom does it all the time 😩

I have been in this EXACT situation! I mean, right down to the dead battery. I have an extrovert friend who has another very introverted friend. I went to the other introvert’s house to wait for the extrovert to meet us there so we could go see a movie. She was running late. Like really late. The only difference was that the two of us (the introverts) were obsessing over being late to the movie. We weren’t obsessing together, mind you; we were each checking our phones to look at start times and other options in case we couldn’t get there on time for the movie we planned to see. And then I realized that my phone was at like 7%.

This has to be the first time I was actually shocked that it ended! I was seriously expecting to see Kyle show up and was shocked when he didn't! But yeah, poor Max .. I mean .. hiding the obvious hurt and pain that a stranger inflicted on him through a phone call to the extroverted friend that they both know. :( I still like Chuck though. He's so .. easily grumpy. :p

That battery charging bit at the end was almost metaphorical. I feel so exhurtsed that I think I need to recharge my energies myself

That is interesting. My mother is a INFJ and my father is a INTJ. My siblings ended up as ISFJ and ESFP. I ended up as INTP. However, I am not sure if there is any evidence yet to support that MBTI types can be hereditary.

As an introvert, there could be 100 of us in a room and would be so boring. But if there is 1 extrovert it becomes so fun and interesting lol

This is just a skit but the awkwardness is making me so anxious 😆😭 totally ducking relatable 😤

I was hoping the extrovert would finally arrive and immediately liven things up and save the day.

Wow, that’s just what I posted!

I felt this in my soul. Except that I wouldn't have asked for a charger. I would've just pretended the phone worked so I didn't have to address the other person OR ask if I could use the bathroom and hang out in there for a good 5 minutes XD

I actually wanted the extroverted friend to show up. They always save the day.

I have an extroverted friend who is late every time we go out and I'm like clocks ticking I'm going when my social energy taps out lol
