My mom is an identical twin, and I have such lovely childhood memories. I remember telling everyone in kindergarten that I had two mamas but only one dad. I would get very upset when someone would argue with me that this wasn’t possible 😅

I think it would be very interesting to test more parents who are twins. Figure out if babies do know who their parents are by baby intuition or something other than using their cute little eyes.

I feel like they'd probably "know" who their dad is given enough time. Speaking from my own experience, I knew multiple sets of identical twins when I was a little kid, and in each case I eventually could just know who was who. I can't tell you what it was, maybe it was their voices or subtle differences in mannerisms that I picked up on

No, even toddlers have difficulty. My dad and my uncle look strikingly similar, and almost every child in the family has spent the first few years of their being confused between them. The only giveaway is my dad is reserved and quiet, and uncle is fun and cuddly. Even my nieces have been confused several times.

Babies can recognize their parents smell very well, and if you notice closely, she doesn’t ‘ask’ to be picked up by her uncle quite the same way how she asks to be picked up by her dad (urgent, long stay). She is just using the words closest to what she is trying to communicate ‘that person is [like/related] to dad’

So my dad's an identical twin and I remember when I was younger I had a really hard time telling him and my uncle apart, which of course they would use to tease me in a similar way to this vid, except once. I think I was like 6 or something, so I don't remember all the details, but I know that I was crying. No idea why I was upset, but I was and I just wanted my dad but I couldn't find him. Eventually, I ran into my uncle and mistook him for my dad. Instead of playing their normal game he just comforted me, didn't correct me and tell me he was my uncle, he was just there for me because he knew I needed my dad, or rather someone who looked exactly like him. It wasn't until I was older and got better at differentiating them that I realized I made a mistake all those years ago

I understand that twins fight tooth and nail to be different from each other, but that's only if they grow up around each other. If separated at birth, they literally become the same person😂.

@@zurirobinson2749 Weird, I have dreams about twins and doubles too. I never have dreams that I have an identical twin, but I've dreamed that my sister suddenly had a clone. It was an uncanny feeling being in that sort of dream-fog where I was alarmed at why I was seeing two identical sisters but wasn't conscious enough to realize that it was impossible and a dream. I've also had several dreams where there are suddenly two of my cat. In one dream there eventually were four cats that looked exactly like my cat wandering around my house. In my dream I thought that maybe there had always been four cats but that I'd only ever seen one at a time. It was eerie.

Alternate title: Identical twins being scary and completely freaking me out for 50 seconds 😂😂😂😂

That was my thought, too. My friends who are identical twins deliberately cultivate different hair, and facial hair. They worked in the same company for a while and I guess it got tiresome to always be saying, "No, I'm his brother. I actually don't know you."
