As a former owner of several GSDs, I can safely say they are a fantastic breed. I was a K-9 officer with a Longhair working night and racing three hoomans. My dog loved his family and never lost his temper in 10 years.

Relax. Getting dragged like that (especially on a slippery linoleum floor) doesn't hurt them. If it did, that dog would object and leave no doubt in your mind about it. Sheppard's are sturdy dogs and love playing rough (but not too rough). My Sheppard would let me drag her across the yard on her back and insist that I do it again when I stopped. So getting pulled across a linoleum floor is "quality attention".
