Yup I've experienced that before. Went for a barramundi hunt but ended up with tons of catfish

This happens all the time in Mobile Bay. Every time I think I've got a nice redfish, it's just a big fat hardhead catfish.

I've caught alot of catfish and pro tip: if you can see/feel the rod do alot of little pulses in a short amount of time its a catfish or a ray, but usually a catfish. My pb is a 25 inch channel cat. Was fishing off an oyster bar at low tide. I was standing on the oyster bar

Those gaftop sail cats are actually decent eating if you wanna go through the pain of cleaning them. Just like any catfish. I actually preferred them but that could have been placebo. This old timer used to joke that you could lick them and trip balls 😜.

I’ve done that before I was camping on a island in the ocean and we took our boat out to a sandbar and then first cast we catch something that I thought was a shark but it was just a massive catfish and was kinda frustrated

@@tytaylor7463 i had caught him on a whole ass croaker hoping to get a. shark. think imma have to buy a new rod before i start using cats as bait lol. they are unbelievably easy to catch tho, plenty of bait

duuuuude happened to me down in the gulf the other day. no scale but the FATTEST SailCat ever. ate a whole 8 inch croaker.

It's just a catfish, nothing cool or worth showing. That's the point of the video. Its kind of a running joke here on the Gulf coast how bad and annoying the catfish are when you're fishing for other species. The video is probably only relatable if you fish the Gulf coast inshore saltwater areas

It's just a catfish.. nothing worth showing. That's the point of the video. I thought I hooked a big redfish, but it turned out to be a nasty catfish.
