I totally agree. Nothing in the world is without balance. Hot and cold, wet and dry, bright and dark. Everything has an opposite, and this is what brings the world together. Although you might be sad at some point, a time will come where you are happy. Maybe you won't excel at something, but you can try and eventually get there. Otherwise, there are also things that you are good at. I believe that to feel something, you must also have to experience the opposite. Just as to feel happy after feeling sad, or feeling sad after feeling happy. To be rewarded takes effort, and if you were rewarded, you must put in effort to carry that reward.

Yin yang. It is both a tragedy and a blessing. Those who are happy bring sadness unintentionally and those who are sad bring happiness. Is this a fact? Or simply a guess as to the true nature of the soul? I know not the answer. But for now I will continue sucking in all this darkness. I won't let any escape. The light will be yours for the taking. I will sacrifice my happiness, my life even, to block out the darkness if only to save you from a single sad day I shall live a life of pain.

@@random_145 I will indulge you a bit. She is a Soldier capture after an attack into a Academy Convention. She is an important asset to her nation and her captors know it. The kid is a teenager who was in the convention and was saved by her from being killed. The captors put him in her room to inject her with nutrients since she was bound completely (She has the abilities and weaknesses of a vampire and can control sound waves. That's why she is mostly muffled). They had some other prisoners but the kid looked inoffensive enough so they force him to do it. Enjoy.

We each are born with the wings needed to soar through the sky, as children our innocence acts as a shield against the expectations of society but as we grow older they chain us down to the land, taking away our freedom and happiness with their agonising grasp upon our wings. once imprisoned, it is a painful and long process of breaking through them. (An excerpt from my novel that I’m working on. This is one of the many painful lessons I’ve learned over the course of my life) Edit: this image surprisingly resembles the inner turmoil of my character!

"YOU WON'T DIE!" she cried and kissing the dying knight, light surrounded the two. Then pulling away she saw with wide eyes, the sword, blood, and wound on her lovers chest was gone. And sitting up as equally surprised, he smiled up at Cassandra's face and whispered to her " You did it, my love. You healed me!" And flinging herself on him she kissed him again, her world swirling away into a tunnel of complete joy and happiness. Was a bit rushed, hope you enjoyed.
