@@user-jv5vb6hs6f You realize not all athletes are like Lebron James and just in it for $$ $. Some athletes believe in loyalty and working through adversity to achieve their goals. Many players in the NHL have taken pay cuts to keep or get players on their team they want to play with or have taken cuts to stay on their current team. Something I doubt you’ll see as often if ever in the NBA, MLB or I doubt even in the NFL.

Not just McDavid the entire team has woken up. Bouchard is on a 13 game point streak Leon is looking pissy again which is good. The PK and PP numbers have improved big there teams back checking is great there overall defence is good now like someone flicked a switch. I don’t know how long this win streak will last but I’m kinda hoping they can make it 10 the record for the team is 9 in a row. Such a rollercoaster of a team.

The addition of one of the most offensive defence men ever to play the game to the coaching staff (Coffey) has done wonders to the back end. The defence are no longer standing on their own goal line trying to make hail mary two line passes on breakouts. They are now moving their feet and driving plays out of their own end utilizing team speed before teams can set up and defend. Woodcroft had them slowing down the play and setting up and Knob has them attacking.

He had a lower body injury at the start of the season. A player that relies on his insane skating ability is neutralized until that heals 100%. It was absurd for people to think he would not be the same player as last year once he healed to 100%

Canucks fan here (here we go) but i’m so stoked Edmonton is right behind us at the end of the season. They’ve fought hard as hell and mcjesus deserves a cup… in 2025 after the canucks 😅

Ima keep commenting on hockey channels til someone realizes- the islanders have a point in 13 of their last 14 games. They are the hottest team in the nhl! They could win 10 cups in a row and people would still talk about the oilers and leafs every other day

If Connor McDavid’s play is infectious to his teammates, Connor Brown must have the best immune system of all time

All Elete hockey players go through a stump throughout their hockey careers but all come out of that incantation over them victoriously like now McDavid being 5th over all with pts from 132th first 15 games.

I hate to say it as a cunucks fan, its great to see McJesus doing his thing and the reast of the oilers doing well A playoff matchup would be awesome between the two teams!

The box +1 is great when you're playing a possession type team, but the Oilers are leaving 1-2 players open from the point consistently, every game. They've fine tuned the messy d-zone coverage that got them into the hole they're in, but they aren't adjusting to teams that player perimeter. Once that gets exposed, it's trouble. They will need a plan for when this happens (likely mid-Jan).

McDavid slumps: Whole team slumps and are basement team. McDavid plays good: Rest of team starts playing good and are a top team in the NHL.. All Davo was doing was proving why he should win the hart this season

To be real, though, he was still over a PPG in his "slump". Him playing better is huge but so is the bottom 6 scoring and the PK being almost 100"

I know you mentioned the defensive side, but Edmontons PK deserves a LOT of credit. In the last 8 games, Edmonton has taken 26 penalties, killing off 25 of them (96%). One of Jay and Dave’s biggest criticism was that their Pk sucked, so Mark Stuart (who’s running the Pk now) has found something and it’s working
