Asian moms and Latino moms are like that. After being married for 2 years, I'm 27, and she's 25. My wife is Vietnamese, and my parents are both half white and half Mexican. I can tell you. My mom and her mom were excited, and her dad told me in his most Vietnamese accent, "mf bullshit you fk ma daughter" like its not normal and my dad was just like "pendejo, ya se acabo el corrido". After my son was born, her dad was excited talking about paying his piano classes, and my dad was already planning on putting him on the will to the farm like I don't exist.

Pregnancy can happen the very first time or it can take over a year that’s just normal. Even birth control fails 20% with repeated use. All the statistics act as if you only do it one time. Wait till marriage to pretend your married. To stop your child’s heart with abortion is wrong, better to stop sleeping with someone you wouldn’t want as the parent of your child.

This doesn't work with Indian mother in laws though, unfortunately. You can do everything right, to the point they brag to their friends about how nice their room is and how thoughtful the daughter in law was to buy you the specific soaps and things she knows you like. But they still hate you for no reason. Mine is like this. She is ungrateful and disrespectful. I did anything and everything for her for 2 months until I found out she was ruining all my belongings by being reckless. Then she would deny she did anything and scream and cry if you pressed the issue. She broke multiple dishes (which only come in sets so hard to replace) in just 3 months. She ruined 2 of my pans. She broke my shower curtain. She stained my rug, shower curtain, and tub with hair dye. She covered my kitchen in dirt and grime without ever cleaning up after herself. She was in the kitchen all day every day but only cooking for her son and herself, not me. And I mean she started at 6am and didn't stop til midnight. When I told her I needed to use the kitchen the day before Thanksgiving she screamed and cried that we wanted her to starve to death. She rearranged my entire pantry in a nonsensical way, because she didn't know what anything was she just put boxes with boxes, bags with bags, etc. She rearranged my cabinets in the same way. So many things. 😞 Now there's big tension bc I don't want her in my home ever again because I feel extremely offended and disrespected. And when I tried to explain that, she wanted to excuse it by saying "that's her culture" and that I needed to adapt. But I have my own culture, and she was in my home, in my country. Also I know it's not her culture, because I know a lot of others from her culture and I discussed these things with them. They're not even my friends, they're my husband's friends wives and even they said she was taking things to an unreasonable extreme. She treated my home as if it was my husband's home when he was a bachelor, and we've been living together for 2 years already. I was flexible enough, she was completely rigid. I flexed so hard I broke and literally didn't leave my room for the last month she was here. I survived on protein bars and takeout my husband brought me which was nothing new by then since she had dominated my kitchen for months already. She triggered my eating disorder to come back because even though I only ate 1 meal a day it was takeout so I gained 15lbs in 3 months. I'm still trying to recover from that and she left a month ago. I hate this feeling of rejection from her. His dad and sister are even on my side with this saying she is "just like that, it's not your fault". I said if she really thinks her behavior is acceptable, she needs therapy and medication. But I just wanted harmony in the family. My parents have accepted us and helped us so much when we were first starting out. They lent us their car, bought us a few furnishings, took us out to eat, etc. My mom is even sponsoring him for the green card process right now so he won't have to deal with renewing work visas and the restrictions work visas come with. Even my grumpy sister is super nice to my husband and likes him a lot. He's great, I love him so much and I don't want this tension for him. But I have to stand up for myself too. We're in our 30s as well, not super young. I hope no one read all this lol I just need to vent, really. I'm still so upset when I think of all of this.

@@lavenderohgood luck 👍 May God help you. You’re not the only one living these things. Every time my mom in law comes it is a source of stress. Mine says she does not know anything, does not understand ´work from home’, she gets emotional for nothing (in comparison I feel like a stone as I don’t cry for anything at all), when we work she says we let her alone and she let herself starve all day long until we come, she does everything I don’t agree with(gives my son sweets and not fruits, she gives my son money when he needs to deserve it), she’s happy when her son disagree with me, she’s unhappy when my husband helps me and she tells him in front of me ´let me do it for you’, she wants her son to take her out all day and then she complains he does not work, I put attention to eat balanced meals and she does not eat my meals complaining that she does not feel good and is not hungry, when she cooks she does not accept the same behaviour or she will tell her son to take her home and my husband is very attached to his mom well being. I agreed to have her with us as I had no prejudice against her but her behaviour over time puts me in stress state every time she comes. She has good qualities as every human being but her old school manners and education does not match my way of life nor thinking. Still, I have to be patient for my husband and I hope time will give me reason as she is the righteous person by default

@lavenderoh8104 moroccan here and we have the same exact types of toxic mothers in law. I'm not married yet but here's the thing : talk with your husband and if she has to stay in your house, she'll either abide by the rules or get the hell out of there. Same if she screams and cries, out. Nobody deserves to have such priviliges, not even for the sake of your husband. Do it now as long as your husband "needs your family supoort" because it will be too late later.

but pregnancy before marriage seems to be a big no no in traditional asian families 🤣 edit: I want to clarify some stuff... Some of y'all think that not encouraging pregnancy before marriage means disapproving of the marriage/aborting the child. What I actually mean is we are discouraged from getting pregnant before we are married but in the event we do get pregnant, we would most likely marry as soon as possible so that the child will have a happy family. ☺️ Hope this clarifies!

He called me when we broke up to ask what happened. He was not happy 🤣😭 Edit 1: We broke up because we wanted to proceed differently with the relationship. She was going to college and she wanted me to move to her city and rent an apartment. I didn't want to move. She felt that it wasn't ok that I still lived in my family home, but at the time, my family needed the extra help so I couldn't move. The "we're big on family" was my favorite part 🤣
I miss my mother in law. She was a feisty lady who thought the world of me (not that I deserved it). This is funny and sweet. I'm already like these parents with my children's boyfriends/girlfriends. You just always want what's best for your child, however old they are 👍 Edit: I come from a high achieving family, but not an Asian family
FUNNY AF! Dad was like "noooooooo"!!! Mom was like "yasssssss"!!!

I'm not Asian, but I just knew she did everything perfect 👏👏👏
Omg! This is so spot on esp the educational background 🤭
The unrealistic part is the son has an ear piercing. That's a no-no in front of Asian parents
Are the they the guys real parents,he looks allot like the dad
So funny! Love how prepared that girl was 😂
She was more than ready
The water on the table is something Malaysian Chinese wouldn’t think to do
That was unexpected. My mother in law's favorite expression was Don't make a bad impression. You can imagine how much fun I had with her.🤦♀️
Rule no1, get his mother to like you, his dad's affection doesn't matter
Oh 😂! This cracked me up, especially that part when she pulled out the pregnancy test and seeing everyone’s reaction to that! 😂
Well Done! Hilarious! You nailed it in 62 seconds!
I'm sure she needed to bring copy of her parents diplomas and professional awards too. Even in Russia grandparents and grandparents usually help A LOT with raising kids, so it is reasonable to know who are those people.
His dad is really cool, I wish I can be like him in that age
Haha excellent acting. The father is a natural
As an Asian I know this real Welly 🤣 if that was my parents they would say "How the hell this idiotic lazy got this gem " Than after seeing her pregnancy test 💀 my dad will simply break all my bones

Parents: Where did you study? Her: Harvard. Parents: Never heard before. Not a real school!
She knew who she was trying to win over
She's always one step ahead even even ahead of her boyfriend XD
