In the book they show you how big a deal it is that Alina was offered HIS color day one, AND THEN SHE TURNED HIM DOWN to wear Summoner Blue. This is the first time she is wearing a black version of the kefta. She is accepting that they are the same kind of Grisha. He is reacting to her unspoken message, not just wearing a kefta in general. This is absolutely one of my favorite reactions from anyone on any show! Can't wait for the season 2 reactions!

Season 2 completely blows the first one out of the water, if you ask me. Incredible performances, amazing world building, plot twist after plot twist, intensely romantic moments ( *cough cough* kanej *cough* ) , beautiful set design and costumes and a LOT more conflict. The characters' personalities are also a lot more loyal to what they were originally meant to be so I'm excited to see how you guys like it in comparison to the first season! I feel like it be summarized in a single sentence from the first Six of Crows book; 'Kaz Brekker was gone, and Dirtyhands had come to see the rough work done.' Can't wait!

I expected more from it, it kind of disappointed me to be honest (my opinion.) It felt very rushed since they crammed so much into just one season. Still, worth a watch.

The Crows are the best characters. I love them. You really should consider reading the books tho, the Crows are not in the first shadow and bone book unfortunately but they have their own book series. Unfortunately Genya is not a healer, she changes physical appearance, she is a Tailor, not a Healer. Also they revealed earlier that the stronger the Grisha the longer they live, so the Darkling has been alive for hundreds of years and he believes because Alina is as strong as him, maybe stronger that it wont matter, she will live for much longer than Mal will and that she will eventually realize that he is the only one who can match with her power.

season two is a fast paced, fanfic fever dream and i loved EVERY second of it

Rizzo just single handedly summed up season 2 plot in the last episode 😂😂😂

Something I wish they showed in the show was inej had anxiety and before any job or when she got anxious she named all her knives and repeated the names just a small detail I would have loved to

1:10:14 when she says “I want you too be careful…(of) powerful men.” Or in the books, “the king loves beauty…in the kings court, appearances are everything.” (Pg.95) ‘“besides, you don’t want to attract too much attention from the king.” Her voice was light, but I saw a shadow pass over her features…’ (pg.98) “But the king is…well, you’ll see what the king is.” “brilliant!” The king shouted. “a miracle!… took my hand in his own, raised it to his wet lips. “ my dear girl,” he said. “ my dear, dear girl.” And I thought of what Genya had said about the kings attention and felt my skin crawl…” (pg. 106) This is all somewhat subtly implying to, what would later be revealed in season two of the show, that the king is kind of a pervert, along with other choice words.

Can´t wait for you reacting to season 2.

@@PinkPopcast That was what I was hoping for, but they just killed it and did that gross thing with the antlers in the collarbone. I'd love to move away from "only death can pay for life" (where do babies come from, then?) and what is essentially a type of blood magic in fantasy as a default setting. I mean, it makes for angst, I guess, but you always have angst from other things. I don't want to say people shouldn't ship problematic couples, but I do find it funny when people are like, "The darkling didn't kiss Alina until he had consent" but ignore how he mutilated her by putting those antlers in her without her consent. honestly, the show is better than the book to me. i only read the first book and really disliked it, it was quite slow-paced and the language was overly confusing for no reason. The show was definitely easier to follow overall.

literally the only people who dislike s2 so much are book readers that expected a page by page copy of the books even though that would be unrealistic and we knew from the start that this show wouldn't be it. you failed your own expectations. it's an overall fun show for anyone else. it's okay to be disappointed but please just allow yourself to also have fun.

@@evelynvas3800 i don’t agree. S1 took a lot of liberties, but i still loved it because it was mostly done well. I’m glad lots of fans enjoyed s2, but i think it was weak and plenty of ppl i know who haven’t read the books at all didn’t like it either despite enjoying the first season.
