I recommend you watch the TV-series from Norway called "Occupied". Can find it on Netflix I think. It's about an alternative timeline if you will, when Russia invades Norways to make sure that they do not stop producing oil and replace their energy production with a new form energy plant (which they do as step towards a "greener future"). This affect the world finance and industry and EU and the US does not come to Norways aid as Russia takes action against them. Parts of the government, military and civil society resist them both with politics and military action while the other part bends their neck for their new Russian overlords. IMO a well made and realistic series. Maybe review the trailer or parts of the series otherwise I recommend it for your private viewing pleasure. :) Great channel you have, keep it up!

If you have free time, I would like to recommend Nedsläckt land. A Swedish reality show about what happens when two groups of people suddenly have no electricity for a undisclosed time. There are expert comments and I think the reactions are very realistic. I think it does a good job on reflecting the Swedish psyche.

Climate change will make lots of people move, that will make the political stability change. Like make water levels higher so LOTS of people need to change, as their homes are under water. And lots of food manufacturing will change. So, yes, Climate change has a military impact. And military should be concerned about it. As you already are worried so you want this wall. USA military studies the phenomenom since end of WWII.

Not entirely correct. They do not "have to", but they are used as a recourse due to the simple fact that they already have the infrastructure to deal with extreme situations. But they can NOT be used in terror attacks, doing any kind of police work. Remember the disastrous event in Ådalen where military fired upon civil citizens. Since then, military can not be used to anything but situations that deals with national security and military interests that supersedes ordinary civil and criminal law. Even in events like the JAS crash in central Stockholm, the military involved was the Military Police. Specially trained unit that works as security force to guard military interests in the civil society. No other unit is to be used in such an event, mostly because they have no authority unless there is any type of war or warlike emergency declared. Just look at how the US reacted when former clown ... sorry I mean Potus T.rump, got when he tried to use military to suppress the uproars and civil unrest in several major cities 2019. A democratic government can not per definition use military power against it's own population. When they do, it's called a military dictatorship or military state (step above a police state). Examples of this is Burma, Thailand and others. I'm sure any US citizen could explain more how their laws regulate this, but as far as I have learned, it's basicly the same. Military deals with threats from outside, police deal with domestic.

The film has nothing to do with the Swedish government or the Swedish military. It's made by an independent journalist - Melker Becker. He specializes in Culture, hard rock and old military installations and equipment as a producer and TV presenter. He has made many interesting programs about the Swedish vehicles of the Cold War and at that time secret bases which are now more closed. So it's a personal program about the future regarding things that exist in open sources. An independent part of the Swedish military is called the Civil Defense. Among other things, the fire brigade, police, hospitals, civilian emergency stockpiles sort as fuel, medicine and food. Now during Covid-19, some of the disaster hospitals have been taken out of storage and set up, if the normal hospitals were not enough. It has now been shown that the biggest shortage has been staff (doctors and nurses).

The abandoned Greenland base in the 60s was a secret project in the sense that the US was given permission by the Danish to build a base there, but the they were not allowed to have nuclear weapons there. They dug a nice base under the ice and even put a nuclear powerplant there. But ice is not stone or concrete. Ice will move. Crawl, slither and creep this way and that. So it was in Greenland as well. And in a panic almost, they had to remove the powerplant again or risk it being crushed. They informed the Danish because they needed help with something I can't remember. Danish were furious. If I recall correctly, everything was still in a test-phase when they dismantled the base. The powerplant was functional but not the one they intended to actually use in the end. I'm uncertain if the missiles actually were delivered.

There are also a series of videos on Denmarks presence in Artic, as Denmark / Greenland are very impacted. There was a question on China and Greenland. Given Greenland is a self governing part of Denmark, the Chinese have or have had several projects to gain access to the resources paid by a build out of the infrastructure. Greenland has around 56.000 people and no real infrastructure. The Danish military keeps a presence in Greenland and there are discussions on how to increase the presence. Look for Arktisk Kommando, Sirius Patruljen, Inspektionsskib, Mission Mestervig or Station Nord to find additional information. Most of it in danish though. Mission Mestervig is pretty interesting.

Nord Stream is a consortium between European and Russian energy companies. Only thing that is questionable is how the project benefits/hurts Sweden if Russia makes economic gains. European countries that are against the project(three Baltics states and some Post-soviet countries) are stand to lose income from reduced transit via their pipelines if Nord Stream 2 is successful.

But I am not surprised that the Swedish military is responisble for such an indepth analysis of the situation. After all when we were being scolded by our officer when I did my military service their standrad line was" That might be acceptable out there in the civilian darkness but it is not okey here. One big difference from WWII in North America is that the populations have gravitated to the cities and our agricultural and industrial bases have dwindled a lot in the past 75 years. This means people rely heavily on large food chains with supply line that can be disrupted and then as most people don't even have gardens nor the proper skills to look after themselves this would create problems that would be more acute than what was seen in WWII I think. The military aspect is one thing and individual firepower as well.
