When to Pronounce the French E as E (like in the alphabet) - 100 French Words 🇫🇷

Finally, a French Pronunciation lesson! In this French lesson, we are going to learn when to pronounce the French E as E (like in the alphabet). E in French can be pronounced as é, as è, or it can be silent. It can also be part of a group of letters forming a specific sound (en - ein - eu - etc).
The French pronunciation of E as E follows 2 simple rules. If the letter E is before one consonant, it will be pronounced E: Petit. It will also be pronounced as E in small words such as Je - Me - Que - etc.
In this video lesson, I listed 100 common French words with examples where E is pronounced as E. I highlighted the E in each word to make it easy for you.
As usual, remember to download your free PDF to keep and review. This one is especially useful, as it is 10 pages full of information.

Dylane, you don't know how much I loved French because of you. You forced me, with your beautiful explaination, to major in French at university. Thanks a lot for the best FREE education you're providing. I just have one question right now which is very confusing. You explained that the definite article can also be used to express a generality, so what's the difference between those two sentences: 1- Un chien est l'ami de l'homme. "Généralité" 2- Le chien est l'ami de l'homme. "Généralité" I just want to know if there's a difference if I'm generally speaking. Thanks for your help ❤

Excellent lesson! Thank you! Quick question - do you have a way for French learners to easily remember au-dessus/au-dessous? I thought I had memorized which one is above and which one is below, but I end up always having to look it up. Any thoughts?

I do! Think of it as a pyramid. Dessus, U has only one letter so it's the top (of the pyramid), dessous has two letters (OU) so it's the bottom of the pyramid. /\

England is an Island, reminds me of Vikings (Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland,Faroese and Iceland and many more) when the Vikings entered on (old time England) they call island as Ö (Long form of Œu ) , I think that's quite logical.

@@HighhPlainsDrifter But Ö is Swedish not Finnish. And the main point is indicating Ö sound, correct Finland is not Scandinavian country . I have typed Finland by mistake, but my theory of indicating Ö is still Logical ;) , as 'How will Vikings sound when they will see the island 🏝️'
