What’s really odd, i play tuba in band, tried trumpet and could produce fairly low tuba range notes on it due to some wacky embouchure that I managed to do even with the smaller mouthpiece
The fact that that highest note is a whole octave higher than I've ever played and hitting that double high G was enough to almost make me black out once... how

Trying a different mouth piece size or shape may help with comfort and air flow. More importantly is just the technique and to increase air speed. Playing super high alot with bad technique can leave lip scarring possibly, if you're not aware. In my opinion circular breathing and double tongue-ing are more useful.

I haven't played in ages, but I remember squealing embouchure, especially when starting with a squeal was different from my normal range playing. My teacher kept telling me to roll my lips in, and something about breathing like I have burning hot pizza in my mouth, seriously lol 😅

I’m exhausted just listening to this
I honestly questioned if the low notes were real at first. That is absolutely incredible
I've been lucky enough to see Sandoval in concert twice and as good as his trumpet playing is it can't hold a candle to his piano playing. OH - MY - GAWD! He's a huge talent in any case and has been for a very long time. He (Sandoval) hosted the Gene Harris Jazz Festival in Boise, ID the year after Gene died and even though I knew of Arturo long before that, the rest of the people that I dragged along with me to the festival had not. They all left in a daze at what they had all witnessed in their introduction to the genius of Arturo Sandoval, wigglin' legs and all. 😁
I had NO idea trumpets could ever go that low! Incredible!!

As a trumpet player, I would have died.
That's talent and dedication right here wonderful !
Sometimes . . . band members are truly impressed by a member's solo. It happens.
0:23 POV: you take that one breath that lasts you a whole lap of the pool
Sandoval is a monster every time he plays.
There is just nobody else on this earth like Arturo - nobody! So incredible!
This is the funniest solo of all time
Great music great people plating great music. Absolutely amazing. Thank you
that sax was playing his lungs off
He does it more smoothly than I've ever seen before.
0:55, I love that the conga player and the drummer are synced
The trumpet turned into a dog whistle lmao
The sax player(forget his name sorry!)… He waited all his life for this moment…and freaking nailed it! Nice!
Pretty amazing, I've never heard a note that high on a brass instrument. Now those are some chops.
When you also wanted a trombone as a kid and dad tells you he bought you a two in one trumpet.
I got to meet him once, in Seattle, years ago at Jazz Alley. ❤❤❤
Yep, that's Arturo Sandoval alright. I remember when he used to play back in the old country. The man still got it.

Nah, This man is built different. Those high notes are crazy, but going that low in the bass clef is just unheard of.
Hit the note right out of the park!
Outstanding
I played for YEARS, this guy is GREAT, so clean.
I would have loved to hear this entire song. Man he can blow that horn!! :)
These high notes sure burn the lips of the trumpet player.
Only once you’ve played a trumpet and gone up the scale will you truly understand how much skill and constant dedication to the instrument it takes to come even close to playing those high notes.
Arturo Sandoval truly is a range master on the trumpet. A range like his is what we should all strive for.
I dont know anything about music note or trumpet technic, but watching this gentlement i know he out of his breath after reaching the top of the highest spot a musician can reach.
His talent is beautiful. 😮😮😮
that sax is giving his all 💀
the pedal tones arae just eath shattering
Incredible!!!!!
love the sheet music at the end- "mega drum roll" "give sax a medal"
Arturo Sandoval THE GOAT
Arturo is like a Caruso among trumpeters
His lips must have been bleeding on that last note. I can't imagine an embouchure that tight!!!!
I hit that note once. I then immediately blacked out
That's what she said
At this point, I think we can all agree that George has a crush on Arturo
I feel lightheaded
Dude playing a tuba with his trumpet.
great!
Just seen and played this for the first time. When he hit that last upper register, I didn't hear it, but my dog went bonkers.🤣
That sheet music is really something else 👀👀
The only other time I ever hear a note that high is from my toddler girls screaming.
My Band director took us to Hutchinson to hear him. Just unbelieveable and at the time he was still touring from Cuba. 1992
I’m a clarinet player but I know DANG WELL my lungs would collapse trying that on the clarinet 💀
as person who ever play in marching band those high note is very amazing.
They should call it THE STROKE NOTE. Because you're.going to have a fkn stroke trying to hit it.
wow amazing!!!
