    How disgusting for the news to report that she may have been having an affair.. she was found in the wall in a bathroom stall strangled and with male dna all over her. How they could even come up with that over the man having a one sided obsession is insane. Her family had to listen and see her name dragged like that. Just terrible.

    Unfortunately, news exist to make money. The more salacious the headlines, the more money they generate. And afterwards it can always be covered with "well at that point there was no information, so that was one of the possible things that might have happened". No apologies of course, media hardly ever thinks there´s anything to apologize for.

    it’s an entry level job (I have worked in a lab like this so I know this definitively). This feels more like having a chronically incompetent unstable sibling and trying to help them out with an entry level job with zero required social skills. I assume they didn’t know he had the capacity to murder someone

    Exactly. It's one thing to say "I never realized he was that kind of person, he never showed us that side", but it's another to say "that isn't the Raymond we know" which implies he's a good person who made a poor decision or something along those lines. They are trying to sow doubt in people's minds and/or are downplaying the kind of cruel monster Raymond truly is.

    He didn’t just take one life-he potentially took innumerable lives. A mind like hers, in that field of study, might’ve gone on to save countless people from illnesses/diseases/untimely deaths. He deserved far more than 40+ years.

    I suspect that the fire alarm triggering may also be a way of getting through doors undetected - most card access security systems deactivate electronic door locks during fire alarm activations - to enable people to escape. During this period the doors can be opened & closed without requiring any swipe card.

    This is true, I work in a lab and when the alarms go off in our building it automatically locks out the lift / elevators (which you normally swipe your ID card to access the upper floors) but opens all the regular doors so you can access the fire escape stairways. So anyone trying to get back IN during a fire alarm would look a bit weird but wouldn't have an issue getting back in

    It's crazy because there was someone else's dna on her clothes including under layers. It was contamination from one of the workers who built the room. But he had passed away before her life was taken. In another story, with a living worker and a competent assailant, an innocent person could have gone to jail

    @@no_peace Yeah our DNA transfers all over the place. Sit in a restaurant and your hair sticks to the seat. Next person who sits there picks it up on their jacket. They get on a bus and the hair transfers to the bus seat. Next passenger sits there and it sticks to their jumper. Could end up in someones house you never even met.

    @@no_peacedifferent types of DNA hold different weights in court. Touch DNA would be considered circumstantial, while blood or semen would be good hard physical evidence. It’s not necessarily likely the worker would have been a suspect, especially if he had work records showing he had a reasonable explanation as to why his DNA would be there.

    Being found the day she was meant to be married makes this so much more heartbreaking for her fiancée and family. Annie could have saved millions in the future with her research, so in fact, by the guy killing her, he's also dammed so many with terminal diseases to not be cured, in my opinion. Rest in peace, Annie Le. You will be so missed by the world and ur dear family, and fiancée 😢

    I go in and out of rooms at work between 30-60 times in 10 hours. I agree it’s suspicious, but definitely not the only thing to rely on

    I'd be curious how many times on average he did this regularly. Unless 55 was truly excessive (which it seems it would be: over eight hours, that would be almost seven times per hour, or once every 8 minutes and 43 seconds) does seem like a lot, but it's hard to say without knowing the standard counts. If this is much more than usual statistically speaking, it should have been an immediate red flag to the police and campus.

    Any case involving SA is almost never about any kind of attraction. It's always about power. He felt weak and small and inferior to his colleagues, especially Annie. So he wanted to make her feel small and powerless. And what's the best way a man can do that to a woman? Through SA. I highly doubt he was jealous over her romantic life.

    "almost never about attraction" sounds like bologna. I think people do it sometimes for the reason you said "power/control." But they absolutely do it for sexual pleasure too.     I worked with a woman who suffocated her newborn after giving birth in her bathroom. She went to the hospital because she couldn't stop bleeding and that's how she got caught. I think about her from time to time because she just never seemed capable of something so horrible. She went to prison but I wonder where she's at now..

    Thank you for bringing this event out in the open again. It is so sad. Raymond was a psychopath bent on snuffing out Annie's existence. Nothing sexual or affectionate for her at all, just jealously and cruel intentions. I so glad he was put in jail for a long time. He's stolen a treasure when he killed Annie. This case needs to be remembered. We lost a great mind with the loss of Annie.😪

    Could you do a video on the disappearance of Rory Gene Kesinger? She escaped from prison in 1973 and hasn't been seen since. She was once thought to be The Lady of The Dunes a year after her disappearance before it was disproven. Supposedly ran away from home at 15 and turned to a life of crime involving bank robberies and drug deals. Even tried killing a cop after initially tricking him into thinking she was a victim of SA

    Unfortunate loss to the world with her death, there would have been so much to contribute with her intelligence and personality within her field, out of her field and amongst the community. So much to live for, all truly deserved opportunities of happiness and incredible adventures/experiences to have.. Such an wrongful loss. Sentencing for the crime seems so meagre with her life taken.

    Based on the article she wrote, I'm guessing this wasn't an isolated incident. Reporting him for any inappropriate behavior may have cost her the work she was doing due to nepotism. This is so tragic for everyone involved except the killer.

    It always makes me so angry when people say “Oh he’s so remorseful for what he did!” Because yeah, he’s sad that he was caught. That’s it. If he could do it again and not get caught, I’m sure he would. Some people are just sick. RIP Annie, the world lost a bright and beautiful mind.

    That was just devastating she seemed such a wonderful person she could have changed the world and I'm sure she would have. I wish her family and friends all the best especially her fiencee. That was just so aweful to hear. I hope that she inspires people in her field. I don't even work in this field and feel inspired by her work so I sincerely hope her legacy lives on.

    The first Lazy Masquerade video that has actually made me cry. This was absolutely tragic. Thank you for your respectful detailing of this absolutely tragic case and reminder to the duty of self reflection and understanding, and to be aware of when negative emotions are overwhelming you.     I went to school with Ray Clark. He was on my wrestling team. He quit after his freshman year, but he seemed like a nice and normal kid. He was two years younger though, so I wasn’t hanging out with him outside of sports

    I saw this story before they actually found finger prints next to her body that led back to a convicted felon. He had helped build the lab years ago, and his fingerprints were still there!!!! I always found that a bit creepy. He could have been wrongly convicted for that.

    I disagree, but I agree the ‘this doesn’t make any sense, he was such a good person’ is bull. There are almost always warning signs, and there clearly were in this case. A petulant, pathetic man like that, thinking he deserved whatever he wanted, felt he was _entitled_ to Annie’s body and life…we as a society need to take men like this as more of a credible, terrible threat.

    There’s always someone more important or valued than you in any institution. Someone with more advanced degrees or experience or accomplishments under their belt. It can happen in many workplaces. Sounds like this guy was entitled af and instead of channeling any of feelings into something productive (in or outside of work) he just found it easier to punish someone else.

    I think that he pulled the fire alarm as a way to say that Annie left the building during that time and didn't return. Why? Because during a fire alarm, security swipes wouldn't have been necessary, so they might have believed him when he said that he had seen her outside. I believe that he had premeditated her murder and that it definitely wasn't a spontaneous thing that he did just because she had rejected his advances that morning. I hope that she's resting in peace.
