I don’t see how you can have a list of sacrifice and not have the Iron Giant. His sacrifice hit me harder than any of these because he didn’t have to make the sacrifice. He had already shown he was equipped with enough high tech weapons to destroy the ICBM without getting near it, but couldn’t live with the fact he was a gun (weapon). He knew that the humans would never stop fearing him, thereby putting Hogarth in danger, unless he was destroyed and opted for the “Superman” ending instead. The Iron Giant was listed second, behind “Old Yeller” as the movies that men admit to tearing up at. Most animated classics are princess movies for the young ladies, but the Iron Giant is one animated movie meant for the boys. It’s a shame you didn’t list it. I would consider the Iron Giant as a super hero.

Superman giving his life to stop the mutated Zod was a heartbreaking scene that had everybody in the theater in tears. It hurt on such an emotional level because the performance of Cavill was masterful. More like a god than anything, Kal-El showed the naked fear that only a man could feel, for a fleeting second a pleading expression before grim determination as he drove the spear deep. And sacrificed himself to kill the monster and save Earth. NO ONE could have been a better Superman than Cavill. Christopher Reeve doesn't enter the conversation because he IS and always will be the real Superman. Everyone else is just actors playing a part. Reeve was a real superhero. But Cavill gave Kal-El a vulnerability, a humbleness that gave life to the Superman character. He was always trying to fit in with humanity and to feel worthy of their love and adoration. I know Gunn is a great producer/ director/writer, but Cavill's Superman was the high point of Justice League and Batman Vs Superman. Good luck topping that.

I always knew Tony Stark would do what was necessary. There was never a doubt in my mind cuz he knows he's the only one that can do it! He is a league of head of anyone else on earth as far as how smart he is and probably in the galaxy or the universe in marvel. When it came down to it his will was iron! He wasn't just iron Man! I'm glad you got to see what he did work to a certain extent. And they told him you can rest. Now we're safe. That was one of the best scenes I've ever seen in any movie!!! Pepper New exactly what to say to him!! I know they had to keep it PG but he was a better man than me. I would have turned that entire army inside out and let them live long enough to feel it! With the ability to make and shape reality the way you would want it, he didn't have to go. But if that moment in time that was the only decision. He was smart enough to know that and not overthink it! I would have turned into something that would have made Thanos s*** himself! And I would have shown that tyrant what intelligence and power can really do! I would have brought back everybody that was hurt and I would have killed that house so many times over and over that I would have gotten bored of it! I would have made him feel every life that he ever took that what his punishment would have been to die in the same manner till he has died the same way that every one of his victims did and as long as it took! Tony did the right thing . Needed to feel the fear and the pain and the anguish and the absolute helplessness that he forced on everyone else. And then I would have erased him from existence and all of his followers. The universe would have never remembered or known him. I think that would have been a punishment deserving of a tyrant like that. He thought he knew what we should be doing when he was only playing God he wasn't one! You take away half the life in the universe and eventually it builds up again! You would have to put some kind of supernatural cap on population. That's the only way that would work! And yes I cried my eyes out on many of these. Number. One was probably number two to me as far as how many tears I said when. Bruce Wayne died. Alfred really sold it. I thought they killed Batman. They ending was by far the best I've ever seen. It amazes me how many times the avengers got on here because it was just that good of a show. Blessed are those that give up their life to save others. That's what a hero does!!!! It's just too bad there's not many living ones around!

So just slice-slice-slice-slice-slice until he's reduced to kibble! Never understood why Jean Gray couldn't just lift the plane with her inside it and stop the waves.. with her inside it.. or do the windows make it so she can't use her powers 😂

I think dr strange intentionally had iron man killed. Stark had knowledge of time travel and the audacity to play with it

One of if not my favourite one isn’t one where the hero dies, 1048 spider man forcing himself to lose aunt may to save Manhattan. That one is even sadder than most of these probably will be, although I haven’t watched it yet

You missed a sacrifice in one of the clips. You mentioned the guy that helped make the Mark 1 Ironman suit, and Blackwidow as regular humans making the ultimate sacrifice, but in the El Deoblo clip the special forces guy also made the ultimate sacrifice, he knew when he started the bomb he was going to die.

Watching that scene where tony goes to space with the nuclear weapon i thought well if his suit is out of power how would he get back? Then i realized that in spwce theres only micro gravity. So how does he fall back to earth. In that portal earth is the biggest mass and everything will gravitate towards it. So he even with no power will get sucked back to earth since its the strongest gravity object
