@a c her family has created half of the world's modern day problems as a result of their colonization, especially in the Middle East & Africa. Honestly I don't understand why people even support her and her family, they've destroyed the lives of billions of people in history and now it's a problem most governments in the West have to deal with.
@xx133
Жыл бұрын
@a c she inherited and maintained an oppressive system of colonization, often by using violence. Take for example Yemen, the Yemeni people were separated from the public image, while whites were able to roam freely as if the Yemenis didn’t exist. She personally ordered any defiance to the queen be put down using any means necessary. There are photos and videos of this encounter as well as many others throughout the world. The jewels she wore, the extravagant lifestyle she enjoyed were stolen using the most violent means possible during the empire. She also oversaw genocide in Kenya (see: see mau mau uprising documentary) in her name and refused to even issued an apology, never mind reparations. There are many other atrocities that have been whitewashed-if anyone dares say a word against her in UK media they are immediately castigated. I challenge anyone to name someone in recent history with a better propaganda machine. The crown has stolen trillions of dollars of resources wealth and talent from countries that are now considered “3rd world” because of it. If she had done everything in her power to right the wrongs she and her family had done I’d have a different view of her, but she didn’t, she continued the legacy long as she could reasonably into the 21st century.

I still have British Queen Elizabeth coins. I'm richer than HSBC banks right now. lol. I could buy a big house, Tesla, Factory with British Hong Kong Queen Elizabeth Coins in USA. China does have very few British Hong Kong dollars and coin; it's museum. They didn't realized it worth trillions in China and more than Yuan. it's hard to get. China has lots of debt; over spending on military, lost currency spending. Right now, Chinese government have guard them and coin museum. They fear chinese people would break into China museum and steal because it rare and overvalue. It's not like Canada, Australia, UK coins. The reason why it's so expensive. Yuan is not free market. HSBC is less free market. British Hong Kong Dollar is free market. Hope china have lots them. So they bailout and pay back china's loans. It's like UK the world most expensive stamps.

@mothratemporalradio517

Not under international law - but i wouldn't forget Hong Kong needs to be free. You never know how the cookie may crumble - regimes do collapse. Britain has instead accepted a huge amount of Hong Kong refugees - although they don't really have the space, there's definitely a very real cultural bond, it's maybe not obvious on the surface, especially since Hong Kongers have very different cultural customs but you can also tell there's a connection. Hong Kongers have a very unique and fun sense of humour and maybe in some ways there's a compatibility there, an appreciation for finding humour in the absurd. I wouldn't ever say give up on Hong Kong's sovereignty. It's early days yet. The CCP has never yet reached the age Queen Elizabeth II did, AFAIK - for a political party, they are pretty young, and eventually the push for change could come from within. Mainlanders may see Chineseness as completely bound up with the Party. It isn't. They were Chinese before and will be Chinese after, but for human beings, whatever political system we grew up with, there can be a paradigm of "better the devil you know", but this can also change. The trigger for change might seem like it suddenly came out of nowhere. Then the paradigm is seen as such, rather than reality. Both Hong Kong and mainland China can and almost certainly will forge new identities yet, but it's not going to be easy, it won't necessarily occur or work like outsiders might expect (although it might), and it's probably going to involve a lot of sacrifice over a long period of time. But it's still possible yet. That's my armchair reckoning, anyway!

How many yellow ribbon protestors and rioters had insulted the Queen repeatedly for months, because most demanded that the arrested rioters should be released unconditionally? Isnt that the same as demanding that they should have the same level of legal right as the Queen, who was free from all prosecutions for her entire life in Britain or Colonial Hong Kong pre 1997 because she had sovereign and diplomatic immunity?
Cantonese were colonial slaves owned by the British.
She have think she is at home ?
She never "brought the British monarch to Hong Kong" she colonized Hong Kong... It baffles me how the queen managed to convince an entire nation that she colonized and intended to exploit for their resources, that she cared.
@semi-skimmedmilk4480
Жыл бұрын
Tbf, the Hong Kong people weren't really "exploited for their resources". The land they lived in was valued as a strategic trading port. The Brits held it for trade and as a result, a collection of small villages became a major economic power house in Asia with a strong democratic history. Realistically, the people of Hong Kong benefitted from Britsin far more than they were disadvantaged.

@@semi-skimmedmilk4480 Your statement is half correct though. It's true that the prosperity of Hong Kong benefit from global trading patterns established by the then world leader British Empire and US after WWII. However, never ignore that the goods traded in Hong Kong have always been produced in China and by Chinese since it was colonized. Therefore it's Chinese labor and resources that was exploited for over a century. The wealth accumulated by Hong Kong people could somehow be considered as leeching the entire China. Some studies also explain how the psychology of Hong Kong people falls while witnessing Mainland China is getting wealthy and rely less on Hong Kong for global trading over the past few decades.
