I have lived in Berlin for over 4 years, and I went to Munich for the first time three days ago. I was so surprised at how different the city was! It was too clean and had no graffiti! 😂

I came to Berlin 15 days ago and I can already understand 50% of the jokes. Can't wait to have the full Berlin experience and then go to Munich.

My grandparents immigrated to San Francisco from Bremerhaven in 1959. Both are now passed, but I love your videos so much - even though you are young, these videos remind me of my grandparents, and while I’m sure they would be terrified at how things have changed, I think they would love your videos and laugh a lot! 😆 I especially love your videos on how German personalities react to things done & said by Americans (spot on, like my Oma & Opa in America!) I actually liked Munich when I was there.. I like clean places .. Berlin was totally different.. its probably more multicultural.. and a bit cheaper.. but I found Munich cheaper than Ireland I'm from Ireland.. and Munich compared to Dublin. Munich is cheaper and its actually cheaper than my home town.. Berlin was a bit dirty and the pubs weren't as good.. nightclubs couldn't get in coz we weren't German or Turkish

Marienplatz! Have such good memories of my first trip back to Germany last year. Hope to run across you when I visit Berlin soon! And because I went on the last week of Oktoberfest, I saw a metric fuckton of drindals and... those huts.

@@RadicalLiving maybe I also will learn German language after English and Spanish. I heard a lot of good things about your country. One time I was in Dresden and when I saw this city... I said "Wow. It's so clean and beautiful".

I don't mind rewatching this cuz it's so funny.

I was two months last year in Berlin in Schönefeld, my company sent us to help another company.. Anyway, first thing that struck me was how much cleaner the public transport were in Munich, to see all those graffiti and the smell of urine in underground in Berlin was huge shock for me, seems like completely normal to see some drunk or high dude in U-Bahn verbally attacking another people, it's completely normal that some junkie comes to you and asking some money for the drugs while you're waiting for the train, so many punks, you can't see none of that..or really really rarely in Munich. There was even one or two murders on the Alexanderplatz. Berlin is bigger of course, much more rough compared to Munich, wilder, dirtier.. Some people like it, but I prefer Munich, and to be honest...i feel safer here 🙈

Seeing the date on the upload really confused me. I thought I had had a really really weird dream.

I used to think the most British like city was Hamburg followed closely by Bremerhaven as they are on the north west coast. Now I wonder if the city I live in now is more like Berlin than Hamburg. Rolling cigarettes after vaping in the norm where I live among smokers. And people are messy. But most people live in houses rather than apartment blocks. Some large houses have been divided up into flats.

Munich local here: we have no späties but there is a special place we locals get our beer at night close to Stachus 😁 it's a gas station

Allguth is top... =D wobei man ja auch in jeder Bar/Kneipe/Boazn/Cafe/restaurant nach nem Wegbier fragen kann... manche haben ja sogar nen Getränkemarkt dabei, bspw. in der Kurfürstenstraße. =) Bin gebürtiger Schwabinger und mach ich schon immer so... in MUC gibt's zwar keine richtigen spätis (bis auf Freiheit und Reichenbachbrücke) aber der Münchner kennt schon seine Tricks... auch früher gabs im Drugstore ja den Kiosk, quasi in nem Restaurant =) Liebe Grüße!

When it's ten euro for a beer what size is it? In the UK it now costs £5.75 on average for a pint of beer which is 568mls. Half a pint of beer doesn't touch the sides. I can't wait for Oktoberfest when the beer is served in steins of about 750mls.

Not going to lie, but $10 for a beer that size at a restaurant isn't that bad, but I'm American and most drinks are ridiculously priced in major cities

Bavaria as a whole is conservative, but Munich is quite progressive and SPD-governed since forever. Many working-class neighborhoods, lots of students, and you can find artists, too. You just picked the most posh places.

You should've gone to the south of Hauptbahnhof and Schwanthalerstraße to have a real Munich experience

I watched a film about National Lampoon's European Vacation. When they visit Germany (they only visit the four main countries; not Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain or Greece as well) they only visit Bavaria and it looked very much like Austria. Turned out they did the filming in Alto Adige; a region in Northern Italy which is German speaking, and used local extras. After that when fighting broke out they fled to Rome.

By the way, your video is funny and it's understandable that you find Munich boring ... especially if you stay in Altstadt (Old Town), where only the richest can afford living and shopping there 😉 Your dance on Marienplatz at the beginning reminds of those dancers, mostly hip-hop dancers in Paris, even on the Champs-Elysées avenue. But, people in Paris gather around the dancers, interact with them and support them; which is not likely to happen in Munich. Would they do that in Berlin ?

lol 10€ for a beer seems normla in germany now. When I traveled to Mainz a month ago they also charged me 10€ for 1L. And a few years ago I was in Hannover at a "Oktoberfest" and they also charged 10€ for 1L beer. Seems normal price/cheap for munich.
