I remember my grandad telling me about being at Goodison and watching the Portugal and North Korea match. Said it was the most bizarre game of football he had ever watched at a stadium. Hopefully we'll have some cracking games like this one in Russia.

Wow, this is very interesting from North Korea participated at the world cup in 1966 in England. They beat Italy with surprising goal they scored. At the end they lost to Portugal by 3-5 at the quarter-finals but later they lost 7-0 again in 2010 in South Africa.

@성이름 I've to respectfully disagree Bro. Poland were a shell of 1970s and 1980s sides. Yes Portugal one was a shock. But the officiating in both Portugal and Italy ones were really a suspect. South Korea played a physical game but wasn't called fouls or given cards. One Spain's ligetimate goal was disallowed. Probably the worse officiating in FIFA WC history favouring the home nation.

Not at all. We'd been fighting a war against them not long before that. You seem to think that we'd forgotten about the Korean War in Middlebrough. We hadn't, but word came from their hotel that the North Korean players were lovely guys, they played in a kit that was exactly the same as Middlesbrough's, we like underdogs and so we gave them our full support.
